Don't want to drive to Austin? This is your answer. My friends and I booked our tickets online. We arrived at Fuel City Taco/Carwash to catch the bus on a Saturday morning. Arrived in Austin within 3ish hours. The sucky thing is the seats are really small. You are cramped up. The charging stations at each seat is just a plug. No USB charging here. The free wifi sucks as well. The good thing is if the bus isn't full you can move to another seat. Our first bus driver was a chatty Kathy, but I had earpods in and watched nexflix on my phone. Our driver on the way home gave a Sunday sermon before we left Austin and it was awkward. All in all. Put your earbuds in and sit back, relax (if there's room) and let someone else take the stress out of your drive to and from Austin. The drive goes by so fast. PS - looking at the photos - we did not get a double decker bus to or from Austin.

If you are not familiar with the Megabus system, it may be confusing especially with multiple buses going to different locations. You can check in with the people inside the center by showing your ticket. It is always better to arrive early than late because the buses usually leave on time. I like how there is a waiting area. There are also restrooms. (There are restrooms on the bus too and they're usually clean). Most of the time, there is no Wi-Fi on the Megabus even though they do say they have it. Sometimes the outlets don't work so you should fully charge what you need. It is a good way for an inexpensive longer ride. They can be as low as $1 if you get them early. You do have to ride with strangers though.

Wanted a normal trip from Austin to Dallas for back to school. My parents were helping me move my bags onto the bus. The driver was incredibly rude to them and yelled at us for that because he thought they were getting on the bus too. He would not let me put my bags down to hug them goodbye. He was also late and unclear about his arrival. He did not use the intercom for the announcements, so no one heard him. Unbelievable, I've ridden megabus thousands of times and have never experienced such a terrible driver!

If you know me, you know that I waited until the last minute to look for a ticket to visit my family in Austin for Thanksgiving. I really wasn't in the mood to drive, last minute ticket prices were outrageous, and the airports would have definitely been insane. Fortunately, a buddy told me about Megabus! "A mega what??!!" I believe was my initial reaction. After hearing a little bit more and taking a look at their website, I purchased a round trip ticket to Austin. I have no regrets. The bus was clean, the drivers were friendly, and the other passengers were all polite and well behaved unlike my experience on another bus line that I used in the past on a couple of occasions. With the exception of the employee who worked at the Downtown Austin location, it was a pleasant experience. Note to the employee at that location: It's not cute when you make disparaging remarks behind a customer's back when the other passengers are looking down your throat...no, Ma'am! That's really the only negative part of my little holiday review. Give Megabus a try. I'll consider them again if I'm traveling to another close Texas city in the future. Speaking of not cute, I was not feeling cute in these two attached pics while riding on Megabus, but I just wanted to convey the contentment that I experienced on my ride. Buenos dias, Ya'll!

Needed to get from Austin to FW after traveling from Virginia. Find another way other bus companies or Amtrak. The drive was so ridiculously rude. I was three seats behind her QUIETLY talking to the lady next to me and she actually yelled at me saying she was going to pull the bus over. I'm sorry you are freaking bus driver! People cannot talk on the bus. Will definitely find other companies to use in the future! GO AMTRAK!

Super rude worker called a customer a dumb ass after they did not hear her when she asked them to move their car. Under no circumstances you should swear at a customer like that. That was very disrespectful.

Ah the MegaBus. Very inexpensive. We left a sketchy San Antonio depot right on time. The Bus was nearly full. My Outlet was not working. We Arrived in Austin on time. Central location just northeast of the Capitol. I'd take it again.

After booking a trip with these guys, I now see why there are so many poor reviews. They canceled our trip after nearly 30 days of having booked. They offered an alternate date but I don't have the option of taking one, nor is one available during the time we need. They are being difficult in terms of getting a refund - can't believe these guys! I had to file a dispute with my credit card company to get my $98 back. This company is pathetic, PATHETIC! Will never book again with them. Megabus is Mega Suck!

Worst customer service I have EVER experienced. My daughter had a ticket on a Megabus from Austin to Dallas (Grand Prairie) on Thursday, October 27th. She arrived at the pick up location 30 minutes before the departure time. The bus was running late and when it finally arrived my daughter tried to pull her ticket up but because of wireless issues in the area it would not pull up. She immediately call Megabus customer service and the operator that answer didn't speak english well enough to understand what the issue was and could not locate the reservation number. Another passenger offered to let my daughter use her hot spot but the bus driver wouldn't let her even stand on the first step to try to connect with the hot spot. At this point the driver stated "I'm already running late, I can't wait for you". AND SHE LEFT MY DAUGHTER STANDING THERE! I understand that my daughter shares some responsibility in all of this as she should have had her ticket already pulled up but the bus driver had a list of reservation numbers so by process of elimination, she should have been able to determine who was not on the bus. Absolutely NO compassion on the bus drivers part. As a result of Megabus's complete indifference to the situation she had to purchase a Greyhound ticket and take a Lyft to a different bus station. So this "inexpensive" Megabus trip has cost her $108 because of the Megabus ticket, the Greyhound ticket and the Lyft ride! I have talked with customer service and they have offered a credit for the Megabus ticket but nothing else. Why would we ever trust Megabus again? Very disappointed in customer service.

Not gonna lie I was worried about using Megabus after seeing all the reviews, but my experience was more than fine. Went from Austin to Houston and back for a weekend. Both buses left on time and arrived without a hitch. Had an empty seat next to me and rocket wasn't terribly pricey.
