I was very happy with my wedding DJ, Eric. He did a fantastic job of getting everyone on the dance floor and keeping them dancing. I love that feeling of being totally exhausted, but hearing the first 3 seconds of the next song and you just gotta stay on that floor and shake your ass! Communication with Penguin was super easy and efficient. I dealt with Josh and he was fabulous and very helpful with any questions I had. My only issue was not having the selection of music I wanted for the ceremony and wedding party songs. This is Austin and you don't have Ghostland Observatory? Come on know most brides have TERRIBLE taste in music, but you need to have some variety available. I did burn them a CD of the important music I wanted played just to be on the safe side. On the big day, the CD format wasn't playing for the DJ so I didn't get all my songs. But seriously, not a big deal. Penguin did the best they could in that situation. So I give my recommendations to Penguin. Thanks for all the great memories.

I am in the wedding industry and work with a lot of DJ's. I knew that Penguin was the one for my wedding long before our actual wedding! Josh is amazing at reading a crowd and to get people on the dance floor. We danced for 3 hours straight and everybody was on the dance floor all night long! It was such a fantastic night and I love that Josh made some announcements at our request and he was perfect with them! (I have heard some cheesy DJ talk at too many weddings! but never with Penguin!) I would recommend them to anyone and everyone!

Our Wedding was this past 4.15.2017, and we had Eric Christianson from Penguin Entertainment as our DJ. Working with Eric was amazing: he was super responsive to all our questions and emails, he took the time to talk on the phone when we needed to, and he rocked at our wedding. I had given Eric some must-plays, and I had given him ideas of the bands we liked besides those musts. I am latin so I had asked for 8 songs in Spanish thinking people might skip dancing those, but everybody loved them. Eric read the crowd amazingly well and played more songs in Spanish than I could have ever hoped for! The dance floor was full the entire time because of his ability to adjust immediately to what he was seeing! It was amazing. I even had random people at work tell me "I heard the DJ at your wedding was amazing." I knew that was true. HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend Eric!!!

I've recently been married, and Eric C. was our wedding DJ. He is absolutely fantastic! He is incredibly professional, and was really just amazing. Initially, I was a little worried about getting people on the dance floor (quite a bit of the older crowd at the wedding) but Eric got them out there! He really has great music selection. We pretty much gave him a very very sparce list of what we wanted (to give you an idea, I listen to KISS FM and the hubby listens to KUT). (We're not exactly the hipster types who are really into local music, but we can tell if we like it or not.) He went with it and played great music the entire night. People were coming up to us saying how we had great songs selected and each one of songs were great. That was all Eric. I cannot say enough how great Eric is at what he does! Also, Josh (also a dj, but we dealt with him regarding payment) was also great and very professional. All in all, I would definitely recommend these guys!

Eric from Penguin Entertainment was our wedding DJ, and he was Amazing in every way! Eric was very professional and orgainzed, we arranged 2 meetings before the wedding to go over the style of music! He assured us that he would play only the music we wanted! We wanted to have a reception that would be one big dance party. And from the minute that my husband and I walked into the reception it was a Huge party. Eric kept everyone on the dance floor the entire night. And while we were eating dinner he played the perfect music for the attire. He took requests and played them all! When the reception was supposed to be over, he even extended the reception without hesitation for another hour. My husband and I had many compliments through out the night on how great the DJ was. We thought it was great! I highly recommend Eric from Penguin Entertainment to be your wedding DJ, he is a blast!!!

Josh did a fantastic job DJing our cocktail hour, dinner, and band set breaks during our wedding this October. Great communication and followed my play/no play list perfectly! Highly recommended!

Hiring Josh as our DJ was one of the best things we did planning our wedding. He was flawless, and everything you would want in a DJ -- passionate and super knowledgeable about music (across genres and time periods); very professional; excellent communication and response time; had good suggestions; and filled the dance floor the entire night. We hesitated hiring him because his fee was higher than some other DJs we vetted, but it was money very well spent. We made things complicated for him by wanting classic 1940s and 1950s music for cocktail hour and dinner, classical at the ceremony, and 1980s and Top 40 for the dancing. He knew every genre in and out, was excited about our ideas, and made some great suggestions to make them even better. As the bride, I never had to think twice about his equipment, which worked flawlessly. We saved money on hiring a ceremony musician, because Josh hit every cue perfectly. And one of the feedbacks I got from my guest was how good the dancing music was. Not every vendor at my wedding was perfect, but full credit to Josh for doing an exceptional job day of, and throughout the planning process.

Great chemistry from the very first meeting with Josh. Guests are still talking about the fantastic music and the dance floor was full all night long! He is a consummate professional, passionate about his work, and totally customer service oriented. On top of that, he's a blast to watch at work, with no cheese factor whatsoever, like so many wedding DJs. Two elements of our daughter's 3/22/14 wedding reception at Laguna Gloria were top priority, music that would keep the international crowd dancing all night and the timing of the lengthy European-style toasts between dinner courses. There seems to be no music genre that can stump Josh and he is as talented an emcee as he is a DJ. Everything flowed seamlessly. Laguna Gloria has some fairly rigid rules about outdoor sound so that they are able to remain good neighbors to those who live around them. Josh is well acquainted with their policies and procedures so that was one worry that I was able to check off my list. Upon request, he set up a double deck system so that we were able to start the dancing on the back patio under the stars, and then at the 10:30 PM witching hour, without missing a beat, he moved to his inside deck, our guests followed right behind him, we closed the doors, and the beautiful art museum turned into a fantastic dance club! Josh gets our highest recommendation and we would happily use him again.

So this is like a year late but truthfully I am just not the kind of person to leave reviews unless asked and these guys never hounded me to do it. I was encouraged to do so from a friend I was raving to, about Josh at Penguin. Josh is flippin fantastic!! He really saved the day for me at my wedding!! I had a coordinator booked to do my day of tasks when oops she cancelled on me a month beforehand. Alas Josh to the rescue!! Even my (then) fiance loved him, and if you knew my (now) husband, you would understand why this is such a big deal! Josh helped us with way more than I would have ever expected from a DJ. When the coordinator bailed, he helped us make our timeline, he made my fiance feel like a part of the planning process, and even helped us find a way to convince my mother in law to dance with my husband at the wedding (she's a bit stubborn). Josh kept my party going at a great pace! He stayed in communications with me throughout the event to adjust time for however we needed it (we called it early because I was too exhausted from having to do the things I was expecting my coordinator to do) and he did a great job at keeping my very drunk Groomsmaid from getting a hold of the microphone. Seriously I could not have asked for more!! I highly recommend Josh and Penguin for anyone! He was worth every penny and then some!!! Thanks Josh! Sorry for the delayed review, I'm a terrible bride.

WE ABSOLUTELY LOOOOOOVED Eric from Penguin Entertainment. Our wedding was EXACTLY what we wanted and everything was perfect! I had a unique sound clip that I wanted to play at the ceremony that he made happen and also was able to find me a good deal on an amp rental last minute so I could have a song played by a family member. The music was incredible all through the cocktail hour. Everybody was commenting on how well it flowed. He secretly worked with my family to give a signal for a flash mob dance after dinner they planned for me. It was awesome!! And then the best party ever started on the dance floor. I'm not kidding when I say, Eric had EVERY single person dancing for the ENTIRE night! Not one person left the floor. It was crazy and awesome! We have friends still coming up to us a month later saying it was the best wedding they've ever been to because of the dance party! If you want a flawless night, choose Eric or anybody from the Penguin team. They know what they're doing and are definitely worth it. Thanks Eric for everything!!
