Phil's is located right on South Lamar. There is parking right in front and a large lot next door. If you are bringing the kiddos, there is also a large playground area. A spacious covered patio is also available for dining al fresco. Phil's ain't fancy, so if you are seeking a Hopdaddy experience, this is not the place for you. If you are jonesing for a delicious burger served on a sourdough roll, then Phil's is the place for you. The burgers are named after Austin neighborhoods, and you have the choice of regular or sweet potato fries. For a buck more, I upgraded to delicious hand-cut onion rings. I'm not a soft drink guy, but I could not resist the Mexican Coke available at the self-serve fountain. They also offer local beer options. If burgers are not your thing, they have a plethora of sandwich options and a kiddo menu. I opted for the Violet Crown, and it was deliciously topped with blue cheese and grilled onions on a toasted jalapeño cheese bun. A few others order the Allendale a cheeseburger topped with sliced onions, sliced tomato, lettuce, pickles, mayo and mustard on a toasted sourdough bun. All seven of us more than enjoyed our burgers, hot dogs, fries, onion rings, and even a corn dog. If you have a sweet tooth, there is an Amy's ice cream in Phil's! ,

An incredible family atmosphere here at Phil and Amy's. Easy to walk up and order any kind of American burger joint fare you've come to be familiar with at this point. Seating is first come first serve but there's covered outdoor options. Reasonably priced and well portioned. The outdoor playground is a massive plus for the kiddos who you're probably coming here for anyway. It's pretty well shaded and fenced in so you're not having to helicopter parent them. Overall the location itself is great, right on south Lamar with plenty of parking. The food is good for what it is. I wish they seasoned the meat a some more. There's lots of different types of burgers with lots of topping combos, but the bigger onion bun used swallows up anything not salted thoroughly.

Phil's has never let me down. The burgers are so huge I usually have to settle for the mini burgers. I love the sourdough buns and they give you a large amount of fries.

As a burger connoisseur I've tried many across the globe and Phil's remains and tried and true favorite! Maybe it's the sourdough buns, or fast service, or the dog friendly patio? Not sure but this burger feels like home and I love coming back!

Great burgers, I love all the fun varieties. I got the violet crown which was a nice balance of blue cheese and grilled onions with my veggie patty. Only weird thing was my bottom bun felt and tasted super doughy like it was uncooked. Top bun was fine, which was weird. I like the mike of fries you can get too.

Honestly one of the better burgers I have had. Had the blt, burger, grilled cheese and fries. Everything from the bread to the fires was very good. The meat had a lot of flavor and it does not hurt if you have kids that there is an Amy's ice cream attached. The staff was friendly. Just mainly due to the traffic, the indoor just felt dirty. The floors felt sticky. Hence the 4 stars v 5. But if you want a very good meal/burger and a place for your kid to play, come here.

Solid burgers, great service, and they have a big table to fit 12 people. I like how they have the option for you to get 2 or 3 mini sliders of different burgers so you can try different flavors. Personally, best thing about Phil's though is their sweet potato fries. I just love sweet potato and their fries make my day every time.

This location is inside Amy's ice cream but the partnership is a match made in heaven. Who doesn't want a great burger and ice cream Great service and they are super fast. My co-workers recommended this place so I slid in there solo just to have my own natural reaction untainted. So many options on burgers and you can get a mixture of regular and sweet potato fries. That's when i knew it was a good time waiting for me. I ordered the Brentwood cuz I like a little piggy with my cow. This burger was juicy, flavorful and all mine without sharing. I couldn't finish the entire meal, that's how generous of the portions are. Great sit down dine vibe and a playground for the kiddos if they come with you. Treat yourself

Phil's Icehouse is probably the first burger place I've ever been to that does all their buns with sourdough, and I think that's a fantastic idea! We came in on a late Friday night, service was quick and friendly. The burgers were so juicy and flavorful with all the fresh ingredients they have to offer. But what stood out was the flavor profile here, the sourdough buns were a great combination to their toppings. They had a nice sweet savory flavor that was simply addicting, it's difficult to explain, but definitely a must try. Another thing that's unique about this place is that they offer a burger flight, great for not having to dedicate yourself to a single burger, and instead you get to try a variety!
