Great food and drinks. I enjoy their matcha latte. I never had their bowls (although heard they were amazing), I loved egg bacon and sausage toast. It was really well made and fluffy. The service is really friendly. The only downside is that it is really busy and therefore loud almost all the time.

The Vietnamese coffee here was really good. The breakfast toast were okay. Unfortunately that was all they had for a breakfast selection cause it still left me hungry. The toast is only a good choice if you want a small bite. Though a bit pricey for what it is... I do want to try their other food items i saw online. Nice indoor and outdoor space. It's in a nice art area where you can take a quick stroll on a nice day.

You may find yourself considering one of the only options for lunch while touring the Canopy this weekend to be the cleverly named, Sa-tén (almost forgot the accent on the é, soooo clever). Do yourself self a favor, enjoy touring the Canopy with an empty stomach and leave content without subjecting yourself to Satan. Why tho, you may ask? Well, apart from the underwhelming, mess of an ocean flavored, bilge pump tasting, hotdog, the rude, unkempt wait staff are reason enough to check out Garbo's food truck instead on your way out. At least their food is SUPPOSED to taste like it was freshly caught. The cashier, a lady with black frizzy hair in need of a good wash, was our first red flag that despite spending $30 for a chicken bowl, dog, and a couple waters, you cannot get the sauce you paid for on the side and you're gonna shut your mouth and like it. I get it. You can be the Soup Nazi because your food is so good that people will put up with the bizarre denial of basic etiquette when ordering food. But when the ballpark hotdog is coated with fish sauce normally reserved for a piping hot bowl of ramen, the lack of service is not justified. We ordered the now infamous hot dog, and almost immediately asked if the Kewpie mayo could be put on the side. The cashier gave us a look as if someone was asking her to use a treadmill for the first time in 30 years. Reluctantly, incredulously, and with an air of superiority, she sighed heavily (she had been on her feet for a while so it could have simply been from the physical demands now placed upon her after what I can only assume were 3 days of tending to her cats and houseplants in a constant sedentary state) she sighed and informed us she will now have to verbally give our request to the kitchen and turned away. Upon her return she informed us that the kitchen said they cannot put the now paid for May on the side.....because they don't have any containers to do so. As I peered the stacks of to go orders bags, burgeoning with all sorts of to go containers, I was perplexed. Surely they can just put it in one of the myriad option they have for the door dashers sitting at home. A cursory glance at the to go menu confirms this in the pic as there is an option for sauce on the side. Ok no big deal, we sat to wait for our food. The first hot dog came out, and I waited for my hot dog and spicy tuna bowl. Admittedly the tuna bowl was not as mid as the hot dog, nothing special tho. A sideshow bob, if sideshow bob gained 30 pounds, looking guy showed up with my dog and bowl. I removed the hot dog from the boat paper container and before he could scuffle off into the shadows, immediately asked him if, using my now empty container, he could take it to the kitchen and ask for them to squirt the kewpie mayo left off of the hot dog. Into this. His face, omg his face, he looked as if his mom had just turned off the WiFi at home and he could no longer chat with his VR girlfriend that night. Suffice it to say, he did not want to do this but I had left him no choice having had removed the obstacle and provided a container for the mayo. He came back with the empty container and in one motion set it down and turned as if he knew his ensuing answer was full of the hypocrisy now ubiquitous in so many overpriced, underwhelming, hipster coffee houses he and his ilk subject us to. He said, and I quote, "they said they won't do it", back turned to us and halfway back to the kitchen. I attempted to protest knowing it was a losing battle and courteously asked why but alas, my proclamations fell on deaf ears as he strode past the sea of to go bags full of all kinds of goods in to go containers. Does a simple thing like a restaurant refusing to give you a sauce you paid for on the side warrant such a lengthy review? Probably not but I will say this, if I can save just one soul from reliving the experience I had, then yes, it is warranted.

Build-a-plate meals are fun. At Sa-Ten, I chose chicken katsu, anchovy garlic toast plus sides of Japanese curry and kale salad. It arrived quickly and was presented beautifully. Salad was fresh and lovely. The toast was almost too hot to eat, which to me is perfect! I do wish they wouldn't serve their katsu almost always on the edge of burnt. An overcooked and dry katsu just doesn't taste great, no matter how much sauce is on it. I'll branch out and try other items like the grilled tare chicken next time. I've enjoyed every coffee drink I've ever had here. These days, it's mostly Americanos. Sa-Ten's Canopy location is a bit out of the way for me (their old location on Airport was closer to home) but much nicer. The Canopy complex consists of art studios, art galleries and several offices. There's outdoor seating and plenty of parking.

It's a cafe located in the Canopy. They've got beverages and food items. You go in, order, take a number, and find a table. They'll bring out what you order, but after that it's bus your own. Inside, there's plenty of seating and large windows, so you get lots of light. I wouldn't really say it's a very comfortable place to do serious, focused work though. In terms of food, I'll need to return to try out some more of their menu. The staff were friendly and they were also pretty active about ensuring the place was clean.

Sa-Tén is a great place to study and enjoy some small bites. They have a lot of outlets, which I really appreciate. I came for lunch this time, and I could tell the food was of high quality. It just unfortunately wasn't very satisfying because of the small portion size for $18. The staff were nice, and I came in with quite the large, noisy group on a weekend. I had the build a plate with chicken katsu, white rice, macaroni Fuji salad, and Japanese-style curry. Honestly, this would have been vastly improved if they could have just given more white rice, which is dirt cheap and should be easy to do. There was a small amount of rice that was not enough. I thought the curry would come with some extra rice, but it didn't, so it was extra difficult to portion out the rice with the curry and meat. The chicken katsu and macaroni salad were both very good, and I enjoyed them. The curry had a strange sweet taste that I can only describe as similar to Play-Doh. Not the texture, but just how I imagine Play-Doh would taste like. I also got the matcha latte, which was alright. It definitely had a very earthy matcha flavour. It doesn't come with sweetener, so I asked for some to be added. I would say on my matcha tier list, it was average.

This place was PACKED on a Thursday afternoon. I loved the Japanese inspired drink flavors and the delicious sounding plates and bowls. We split the Hawaiian plate ($17) - hearty and delicious for sure! I'm a sucker for mac salad and some egg on garlic rice. I also got a side of the Anchovy Garlic Toast ($8.50) and OMG - it was so rich, buttery, thick, and chewy - decadent! Don't worry if the anchovy scares you , you can't taste it. There is outdoor seating with water misters, and indoor seating with strong A/C. It is great for working - plenty of outlets. Staff is cool.

We had lunch at Sa. Tén and it was great. The service is simple. You order at the register and pay and they call you when it's ready and you bus your own dishes. The prices are reasonable. The milk roast is insane. Everything we had was delicious.

Coffee is good but nothing outstanding. The Japanese style breakfast tho. Highly recommend the salmon breakfast plate for a unique and delicious experience. The pumpkin salad on the side is yummy. The rice and salmon are cooked to perfect and even my picky toddler liked it. Hubby got the cowboy plate which is a heavier and less balanced dish. I tried the chicken karaage and toasted buttered thick toast and really liked them. Would recommend for a try if you are up for a big breakfast.

I was excited to try this spot for dinner. I had heard good things and I wasn't disappointed. The service was very quick, and the food came out delicious. I had the chicken katsu plate and I enjoyed the save and the Mac salad. There was along amount of rice which I didn't finish but appreciated the portions. I'd love to come back and check this place out as a place to work from during the day as I've heard it's a good space to work from.
