This was a nice small museum! I love all the Texas history and science. It was nice to visit. You really only need about an hour or less to see everything.

Nice museum that has beautiful fossils and displays. However all the information on the displays is based on man's philosophy of evolution and is presented as fact. Thousands of scientists disagree. Living matter coming from nonliving matter? Something came from nothing? The staff and museum leadership believe in evolution because they automaticly accepted the assumptions and presuppositions of the thousands of scientists before them. Recent discoveries of red blood cells and flexible fiber found in dinosaur fossils blows away the "millions" of years theory. Man's philosophy of evolution cannot be proven even by the perponderance of evidence. So do your own research. Alternative information can be found at answersingenesis.org.

What a gem! The Texas Science & Natural History Museum is a must-visit. Gorgeous renovation, fascinating exhibits (almost all fossils found right here in Texas!), and the perfect mix of history, science, and Texas pride. Great for families, events, or a fun afternoon adventure.

I would have never thought Texas would have its own prehistoric relics! UT did a great job inn assembling the different floors specific to Texas! Worth the money. They do have wheelchair access which was very helpful when I brought my son. We parked next to the building. Affordable easy parking. Restroom was clean. Gift shop was a nice touch.

I visited this museum today with my two-year-old granddaughter. It was an amazing experience. It was very clean and the people who worked there were very nice. The exhibits were done very well. It's really mind-boggling when one realizes that all those bones were found separately , matched up and put together like a big puzzle, absolutely amazing! They also had historical things like meteorites and rocks. They had exhibits of Texas animals which were taxidermy. They were done very well. They had a very nice gift shop. That wasn't too terribly expensive. It has four floors. I recommend you visit! It's a good outing for a family.

This museum was not even worth $10. It's really small. The worst thing is that it's in the university of Texas Austin campus where they have parking sign restrictions. I happen to park at a disabled with my placard and still got a ticket. The parking person answering the phone claims I needed a UT permit AND a disabled placard. It does NOT say that on the sign. It says that specifically/clearly on the other regular parking spaces. If he means the abbrev. symbol like D+ means something other than disabled a person especially an out of state visitor does not know what those UT symbols mean. It should be more clear and not say "OR." They need to post the same specific sign as the other parking spots or explain the symbols with the word AND. This museum is not worth the unwelcome hassle.

I went here for a field trip with my students. It was just big enough for my littles. After about 45 minutes they had seen all they wanted to see; including the gift shop. ;) All of the workers were pleasant. I did miss someone working on the bottom floor. They would be available for questions and the kids loved watching them work. I love the dinosaur in the entryway now.

We came for the "grand opening" today. There were multiple outdoor booths that were very cool. The kids could do things like make a paper finger puppet bat, hold a cockroach, and get their face painted. When we went inside the museum it was packed since it was a free event. I was surprised that they still had a bunch of things under renovation. There were still some very interesting things to look at. My biggest disappointment though was that a lot of the exhibits were not labeled, so you didn't know what you were looking at (snakes for instance). I would have thought the way the event was labeled they were done renovating but they are not. I'd probably come back if I knew when they were officially done and everything is labeled.
