My wife and I stumbled in here on a day date and had a awesome experience. We did a tasting and all the wines were excellent. My wife is a big fan of their Red Nat. From that point on we were hooked. We went on to become wine club members and we have had birthday party's here. Enjoyed the locations anniversary parties and it's just become a part of hour neighborhood and life. The Austin Winery kicks ass in anyway you could possibly imagine. Great wine, amazingly knowledgable employees and owners and a super comfortable me space.

Last week we had a friend in town and decided to take him to The Yard (St. Elmo District). My first time there was just a couple of weeks ago for a Yelp event. All of the businesses that participated were pretty great and the concept is cool and we just thought it was a great place to check out. One of the places I returned to was The Austin Winery. They were super busy the night of the Yelp event yet took the time with each of us to explain the different wines they offer. In doing so, we never felt rushed nor did it seem we had to wait long. I wanted to return for that reason and to try more of their offerings. We were not disappointed. They were busy when we took our friend but we were still able to experience the same great service and same great beverages. We had a bottle of Ocho from Salt Lick Vineyards, made with grapes from Texas Hill Country. What a delightfully refreshing and flavorful bottle to share on a sunny and mild Sunday afternoon with friends.

Really enjoyed trying some wines here! They seem to carry mostly (if not only) Texas wines and the bartender told us in depth on what we were tasting. I would definitely come back here!

Rating: 3.1/5 We tried The Austin Winery on two different occasions, and both times their wine was just okay or not good. The first time was a wine flight we had catered at our apartment, while the second time, we visited in person with a group of friends. Honestly, the wines we buy from Costco taste better. We did the $20 wine tasting flight where you get to choose 3 from the menu. The pros are that it's cheap and they give generous pours, but the con is that the wines don't taste good. Thank goodness I shared with my husband because I wouldn't have been able to finish it myself. 1. Picpoul Blanc: One Elm Vineyards - High Plains white wine with notes of lemongrass, pink lemonade, and raspberry. It was okay. 2. Aqua Pazza - High Plains/High Country orange wine with notes of apricot, candied lemon, and orange zest. It tasted like a bitter citrus wine and was our least favorite of the wines we tried. 3. GSM: Salt Lick Vineyards - Hill Country chilled red wine with notes of mint berry crunch and herbal. I think we prefer non-chilled red wine, since the tannins were super muted, but the cold temperature does make it more enjoyable on a hot day. Lavender Haze ($15): This is a wine cocktail made with Ocho, lemon, lavender simple syrup, topped with Rambler, and garnished with a lemon wheel. Ocho is a Salt Lick Vineyards - Hill Country white wine with soft lychee, beeswax, and freshly minted bills. It's a light and bright wine cocktail that's great for an afternoon drink. Bread With Oil & Balsamic Reduction ($6): You definitely need to dip the bread in the balsamic reduction; otherwise, the bread is just so bland by itself. Recommend getting the shareables instead, since the bread doesn't really add anything to the wine tasting. Our friends got the charcuterie, and the meat, cheese, and fig really helped us get through the wine flight.

My bf introduced me to this gem of a tasting room. They specialize in natural wines made in TX and have a variety of options from white to orange and reds. Recently visited for a Yelp Elite event and they had a DJ spinning which made the ambience even more fun. Ryan and Turner are the best winetenders. There is indoor and outdoor seating plus an upstairs loft. Small selection of snacks to go along with the wines. My favorite is the Work Horse (red) and Cerasuolo (rosé that was made for red wine drinkers) which they will have back on the menu soon.

How I haven't done a review of this spot is beyond me! We love Austin winery. From the service to the vibe to the Violet Crown wine, everything about this is perfection. Conveniently located in the St Elmo district and serving the best wine in Austin, you can't go wrong visiting this hidden gem.

Wild yeast! This is the number one indicator of good wine in my opinion. Just like sourdough bread. Very old world and nothing commercial. My micro biome loves you!!

What a great place in the middle of Austin. Located in The Yard off of St Elmo, this winery who makes all their own wines from Texas grapes offers wine by the glass, bottle or flight. With a short list of appetizers and a comprehensive ambiance of wine-making tools amongst the tables, hosts like Ryan are eager to share their knowledge and the special process of providing wine true to the Terra they come from. The entire complex is full of warehouses with painted corrugated steel that is photo-worthy. Relaxed and very Austin! Give it a try!

Came in for a fundraiser. It's always a lovely experience visiting the Austin winery. The staff is very kind, professional and knowledgeable about all the wine selections. I love supporting local businesses and this is just that. They have a nice laid back atmosphere with a selection of yummy small bites on the menu. There's also a food truck available if you want a bigger meal. The hardest part about visiting is making the selection of wine bc there are so many great options. A local business who fundraising with local charities in the area is always going to be top tier! Thanks for helping the community and serving up yummy wine.
