Came here for some Dominican food. Coming from the east coast you don't see too many spot of this culture . We felt at home here . It's in a courtyard of sorts with other food trucks. They had a stage for probably live music. They had music playing and dancing. The vibe. The chairs and oak trees you could sit on and under. The empanadas that had Doughminican" stamped on them. It was all fantastic. We didn't want to leave.

Must-Try Dominican Empanadas and Fresh Pineapple Juice I absolutely love The Dominican--this spot is a gem! If you're ever in the mood for fresh-pressed pineapple juice, theirs is incredible. And their empanadas? Absolutely delicious. These are Dominican-style empanadas, so they might look a bit different, but the flavors are spot on. They offer beef, chicken, and veggie (ratatouille) options, and all are phenomenal. My favorite is the chicken--don't skip it! One of my favorite weekend routines is grabbing empanadas here, heading over to Desnudo (next door) for coffee or matcha, and enjoying the pop-up farmers market in the area. It's the perfect way to hang out, shop local, and enjoy amazing food. Plus, the owners of the food truck are so kind and welcoming. I visit almost every other weekend and can't recommend this spot enough!

The empanadas are made really well. I tried the beef empanada which had great flavor. My fav part is the dough.. it's seriously cooked to perfection. It's located in a food truck park that always has little local shopping stands which always makes it more of an adventure. Plan to go a little earlier in the afternoon because they typically sell out. Definitely one of the better empanadas that I've tried in Austin!

I would say this food truck has some of the best empanadas I have ever had. I have had my eye on it for years, never seeming to catch it during operating hours. The day I walked by and saw the door open, I ran into the food park and told my friends I was going to be a little bit late to meet them. About 20 minutes later, I had some of the most beautiful empanadas in front of me. I highly recommend trying these! The truck sits within Vera Cruz lovely food park, plenty of outdoor seating.

Incredible empanadas! Such a cute food truck! Friendly staff! Immaculate vibes! I tried the Ratatouille Empanada - omg best empanada of my life. The inside was so flavorful and the cheese pull got my heart singing. It was a bit watery but most veggie based fillings are. The crust was light and airy, made with a lot of love. Also tried the Tostones. I had never had green plantains before. They were salty but well made. Great experience, would recommend!

Oh. My. Lawd. Run don't walk to this cute trailer in the food truck park. The dough is melt in your mouth good. The tostones were delicious. Empanadas are next level. Also got a pineapple juice which was refreshing. I will be coming back here and bringing friends.

Hands down 5 stars for the pun alone, if I could give 6 stars for the food I could. Truly such a quality empanada. Everything is home made and delicious. You can see the chef making the empanadas in the food trailer. What's great is while you wait you can explore the other food trucks in the park. I ordered 3 empanadas on the menu: Beef, Chicken and Ratatouille. If I had to rank them: Beef, Ratatouille and chicken. First off you break the empanada and you see steam coming out. You see the filling and cheese oozing out and it is so well done. The beef and ratatouille were well seasoned and packs flavor. The chicken was moist but lacked a bit of flavor. The dough of the empanada is flaky and crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The green sauce is so great for dipping. It was great to cut through some of the richness of the beef and ratatouille: The staff was quick and speedy and the food was made with care and thought. I will definitely be back!

I tried both the beef empanada and the ratatouille empanada (vegetarian). The ratatouille empanada tasted fine but lacked much flavor. The filling was mostly mushy from what I could tell, lacking texture. The beef one was tasty but too greasy - when I opened it from the middle, I saw oil floating/glistening around the ground beef. Nothing wrong with that, but I prefer less greasy + less fluid filling for pastries. Wait time was surprising long for two empanadas. We were told that the wait time would be 7-10 minutes, but it took more than 10 in reality. There are seats around the truck and they would text you when the order is ready, so that's not too bad. The staff was really nice, but one suggestion: turn down the music. It was way too loud for the staff & customers to hear each other when ordering. It also made it very unpleasant to stand near the truck while waiting to order.

I ordered the beef empanada ($5) and also had a bite of the ratatouille one. I enjoyed the ratatouille, but the beef empanada was my favorite. They come with chipotle mayo and green sauce, but I thought the beef empanada was seasoned so well and had enough flavor on its own so I didn't end up using the sauces. The beef empanada contains delicious melted cheese that oozes out, and I believe the ratatouille empanada also had some cheese. They come out super hot, so I'm sure if I ordered them to go they would still be warm by the time I got home. This spot definitely satisfied my empanada craving. I loved that it's part of a food truck park, so you can explore other food options as well. I tried the brisket and cheddar kolache from Kerlaches, and if I had to choose between the two I would definitely pick the beef empanada from The Doughminican!
