Wyldwood is a best kep secret that is slowly not becoming a secret anymore. I can understand why, an intimate venue to see your favorite artist up close and acoustic, free hot dogs, byob, what more could you want? The Wyldwood is a couple's home they open up to host various local musicians, you have to get a reservation since seating is limited so think about that before you go. You pay ten, fifteen bucks or whatever you can pay to get in and fine a seat in the grassy yard. They have free hot dogs for the kiddies but I recommend bringing a picnic basket a maybe a bottle of wine or whatever it is you may drink. Because of the limited people, shows at the Wyldwood are up close an personal and feel like, well, you are just hanging out with a musician in a back yard... which you are! If you have not experienced this place yet I highly recommend it, bring a picnic basket and plop down for an amazing show!

Austin's best secret! Live music venue off the beaten path. This is truely a 78748/45 gem. BYOB, bathrooms, and plenty of space to lay around and let the kids run!

The couple who run The Wyldwood do it because they love music. Particularly singer/songwriter music. They provide a beautiful venue (their back yard, lucky devils) free hot dogs, S'mores around the campfire if there isn't a burn ban in effect, air conditioned bathrooms, chairs, blankets and up close and personal music with various artists throughout the season - all for whatever you can pay at the door. (They ask $10 per adult, but it isn't required.) The kicker is, every single penny of whatever is in the pot at the end of the evening goes to the musician. They don't keep a penny - not even to help fund the hot dogs and s'mores. This is a great way to spend a Saturday night. Kids are welcome, music lovers are appreciated and anyone who wants to hang out under the stars and listen to some amazing tunes is invited. Bring a chair and a blanket (they run out sometimes) and a picnic basket with an adult beverage or two and find out what 'ahhhhhh' feels like.

A lovely venue. Saw Matt the Electrician last night and it was a great time. Large trees provide shade. Great acoustics. Nice restrooms. Had a free hot dog for diner. Bring a large group! They have the space. And while I don't have kids, my friends brought their little ones and they had a fantastic time. There is a tree house, a large field and farm animals to admire. Bring a blanket or some folding chairs and your favorite drinks for a laid back, low cost night out. I'll be going to as many of these shows as I can.

This place is exactly why I am so happy I live in Austin! The best way to spend a laidback spring or summer Saturday night is right here. Live music under the stars and beautiful trees surrounded by friendly people. Well behaved kids are welcome, and mine love the s'mores they get to make between sets. Pack a picnic, your favorite beverage and a few friends and, in my opinion, you've got the perfect Austin evening!
