This Thundercloud Subs is located in the Austin airport. I was looking for a quick bite but also something that wouldn't make a huge dent in my wallet (as a lot of spots in airports do). This spot had a pretty good menu and a deal for the combo so I decided to eat here! It was easy to order where you go through and pick the ingredients of your sandwich, just like usual for sub places. The staff was pretty friendly and I got everything I needed to be fueled for my flight. The sub was good and was good even when I ate the rest of it during my flight. Overall, a good spot to grab something to eat while at the airport.

Overall: 2.7/5 [take out] I was craving a sandwich and came across Thundercloud Subs at the Austin airport so we decided to try it. We ordered the Austin Club sub ($15.50), which comes with a bag of chips of your choice and a drink. We chose Garden Salsa Sun Chips and added a Love Street Blonde beer for an extra $3, though we were required to open the beer in front of the cashier, which was a bit odd. We also asked for gloves and had our sandwich cut in half, which made eating and cleanup much easier. For the Austin Club sub, we opted for white bread and added ham. However, when we opened it, we noticed several issues: the bread wasn't toasted, the meat portions were skimpy, and the chicken looked more like white ham. The sandwich was smaller than expected and very basic--something I could have grabbed pre-made elsewhere. Although it didn't taste bad, for same price point, I could get a better tasting & customizable foot long sub at Subways.

Be forewarned this like moved entirely too slow. Don't come here if you are on a time crunch between flights. I had 2 hours to kill so decided on an egg salad sandwich. For $15 you get the sandwich, the drink, and chips. It's not terrible for the size and sides, but it took nearly 45 mins in a very short line. There is no hurry here. The bread was softish and the egg salad was lacking flavor. I'm not sure why. Even salt and pepper didn't do the trick. They were nice, but definitely not speedy at their jobs. Probably about the best pricing you can get for an airport meal though.

I'm mainly writing this review to remind me to come back if I'm ever at the Austin airport. It's a regular sandwich but it hit the spot. It's about $15 for a sandwich, a drink, and chips. I saw lots of reviews about customer service issues but the 2 guys who helped me were patient and kind. I had the Austin club. My biggest gripe is that bread isn't toasted but I get it. At least it's not stone cold like the ones in the mini markets at the airport.

Sub was good, I had the turkey. My main complaint was they don't toast them but that's more my preference. Service was fast and friendly. The atmosphere was as you would expect for an airport sub shop.

The sub was actually good. However, service is questionable. While making myself, I noticed that they left an ingredient off. So I asked the cashier if they put the ingredients on my sandwich. The individual is making a sandwich cannot provide an answer so the cashier open my sandwich to check to see if there was bacon on there. There was not. So he asked for bacon be put on a sandwich. I asked for my sandwich to be remade because he has opened my sandwich while working at the cashier and I didn't think it was sanitary. He would not remake my sandwich and say that he did not actually touch my family. He just opened it. I think that is unsanitary as he handles money and he should not have open my sandwich and then give it back to me.

The one doing the sandwich making at 10:55 am on 7/07 was the rudest person I've ever met and like I get it's the airport and you don't want to work in food but I work in customer service and would neverrrrr talk to someone like that it looked like the cashier was embarrassed for her
