I came in for menudo to go because I wasn't in the mood for the continental breakfast at my motel. I ordered at the counter and service was friendly. The food came out shortly afterwards and was well packaged for my short walk back to my motel room. The menudo was hot and filled with tripe. Much more tripe than hominy which made it a very rich menudo. The spice was balanced but did lean towards the milder end. Overall a hearty breakfast and I will return when the opportunity affords it!

Food is great but after 7 years of eating at both locations, this particular one has ALWAYS gotten my order incorrect. Never adding the correct ingredients no matter how often I ask or repeat it. The woman taking the order over the phone seems often rushed or agitated, so maybe ordering via telephone is not the correct option.

This divvy staple within Austin is definitely a place to check out. Authentic Mexican food and especially for breakfast... BREAKFAST TACOS!!!! The service was attentive. Coffee flowed freely, and those tacos OMG! I hope to get into downtown again just for this soon!

The hot sauce! You if you love an aggressive table salsa... go here. Their fajita tacos con todo are amazing! Waitstaff is also very courteous. The decor food and uniforms make you feel the cultural experience.

Many a mixed feeling. Service was perfect! I felt like we had 3 ladies keeping an eye on us. However, I had bacon egg and cheese breakfast tacos on flour tortillas. 1. The tortillas were store bought 2. The eggs were bland 3. Had a hair in my taco 4. Bit into an eggshell. Also prices were a bit hefty, $28.62 for two people's breakfast (that was before tip!!) The positives were good service, good salsa, and good coffee.

Having grown up in South Texas I appreciate good Mexican food - especially authentic Mexican food from out of the way locally owned places. I found Vazquez Restaurant from a Yelp search and I couldn't be happier. You know it's authentic when you are the only white face in the place and English is not the primary language. My kind of place. The waitress was outstanding. She was always checking on me. The food came out fast. I got the carne guisada with 2 flour tortillas. Gooood. I'm glad the food came fast otherwise I would have filled up on chips and hot sauce. The hot sauce has some heat - the way I like it. I highly recommend this place. I'll come back again and again.

A solid 3 stars for this neighborhood Mexican restaurant! Service was prompt and very cordial, we came for a light lunch around 1:30 pm on a Sunday and had ample parking and tables to sit at. Upon sitting we got a basket of chips that were warm and toasty: very delicious. The sauce was hot. I guess locals would call that normal- I'm a wimp so I felt the kick! Lol We ordered a carne guisada platter which was tasty and looked very appetizing. I ordered the Taco Pastor no onions, with a flour tortilla- and got a taco pastor. I was disappointed by the looks of what I was presented, but my daughter pointed out that that's exactly what I ordered... I didn't say "platter", so know the magic word for a full meal! Ha! The taco was actually all I needed to have as it was very filling, lots of good meat, but it was also somewhat greasy for my taste. Fast friendly service, good food, know what you order... that's a solid 3 in my book. Enjoy!
