After a rigorous workout, I was craving comfort food. I stopped by the new Velvet Taco on Burnet road. I ordered the salmon along with chicken and waffle tacos. Both were delicious. I always enjoy the combination of flavors and textures. The quality of the tacos were comparable to the Velvet Tacos at the Domain. Maya, my cashier was helpful and friendly. She was patient to explain the ordering process. In addition, there is a good amount of parking. The big plus of this location is having dual access - in restaurant and drive-thru. The drive-thru should foster increased amount of business. I certainly will use the drive-thru benefit. News Alert: Tomorrow, 10/6, is National Taco Day! At Velvet Taco they have a BOGO special - buy one taco, get one taco free 10/6-10/12/2025, redeemable 10/13-10/19/2025. This location had chill music playing the background. This location has both indoor and patio seating. it was a vibe! Look forward to returning...

Why is there a manager policing the parking lot? I pulled in at 10:58 AM. Out of the 10 spots available there were two cars. I pulled in at an angle aimed at the drive-through and turned my hazard lights on. Yes I was taking up two parking spaces by doing this. I assumed I'd be able to open the app and place an order quick enough to not be in anyone's way. Besides that, I have enough common sense and human decency to move on my own if I notice I'm in someone's way. Within two minutes a manager asked me to park correctly because "they are now open and will be experiencing traffic. " as much as I just wanted to go somewhere else at this point, I did pull out of the parking lot, around the block and park correctly. When has it ever been necessary for an empty parking lot to require regulating for proper flow buy a store manager? My first experience was already off to a terrible start. However, I did download the app and register for the reward program. I got free nachos and queso when I added a credit card. I ordered one taco so I would have something legitimate to review other than the parking lot experience. I waited about five minutes before pulling around to the speaker box. I sat there for another minute and a half before I realized there's no speaker box. I pulled up to the window and told them I placed the order online and gave them my name and showed them a picture of my receipt. The employee had to get a manager involved. I guess the earliest possible pick up wasn't for another 25 minutes. They were able to force the system to show them the order so they could fulfill it. This require way more weight time than necessary. The queso was luke warm, the chips were not fresh. Their tacos are ridiculously overpriced. $6.50 is the medium price for their menu. One taco a few blocks away at Little Woodrow's ( which has been on TV shows like diners, drive-ins, and dives.) has half off several tacos every single Tuesday. Today is national taco day and low taco didn't have a single discount. Make that make sense. I will end the review on a positive note. The chicken tikka taco was edible. It was not spicy at all. I didn't enjoy it, but I didn't suck either. After having such a great experience at the velvet taco in Dallas, and then another great experience at a velvet taco in Fort Worth, I was really looking forward to having one in my neighborhood. What a huge letdown. I'll give this place another few months to work out their kinks. Hopefully they can manage to keep their manager indoors and their order system running a little more quickly. For now, I'll enjoy half price tacos on taco Tuesday at One Taco

We love love love Velvet Taco but this new location is lacking in some areas. We came at 750pm on a Thursday so it was very slow. We ordered three tacos and it took 25 minutes and we were the only one in line.. the kitchen is open so customers can see everything. There were five employees standing back there and FOUR of them were on their phones with one person cooking. One of the employees was distracting the cook by showing him things on the phone. It was shocking. Parking is semi limited but it was fine when we showed up. The entrance is also around the gated off area and it's a bit strange. I am still baffled by the whole experience.

So happy that Velvet Taco has opened a restaurant on Burnet Road! We went last night and a frozen and a rocks margarita, both were good. We shared the red curry coconut queso and three tacos. All were very tasty, the spicy chicken tikka, the angus brisket and the rotisserie chicken. All were pretty tasty. I'm looking forward to returning for the fish n' chips taco and the chicken and waffle taco! P.S. the outside table had a hook for a purse!

Amazing food and outstanding service! Velvet Taco never disappoints! The food is always fresh, flavorful, and creative -- every taco I've tried has been incredible. The atmosphere is fun and welcoming, making it a perfect spot for a quick bite or a casual night out. A special shoutout to Judith, who always greets everyone with a smile and provides top-notch service. She goes above and beyond to make sure every visit is a great experience. If you haven't tried Velvet Taco yet, you're missing out -- it's easily one of my favorite places to eat!

So happy to have a new taco place! Food was fabulous - breaded cauliflower taco and spicey tofu taco. GM Jared was awesome, explained the menu and made sure the service was good. He honored my husband as a veteran with a discount off our food. Staff seemed super happy and cheerful. Looking forward to the next time.
