First time I pulled up I got the bourbon vanilla latte and the red velvet whoopie pie. Both were legit. The latte was smooth, not too sweet, just solid. And the whoopie pie? Dangerous. Soft, rich, had me low-key debating a second one right there. Came back a few days later and went for the banana miso latte and I'm not gonna lie, that one hit. Sweet, creamy, little savory vibe from the miso that just worked.

Walton's Fancy and Staple is a bakery/cafe with a decent variety of options to choose from as well as a quaint and welcoming interior. We went on a warm afternoon when it wasn't too busy and looking for a quick sweet treat. Since it's directly on 6th be mindful of parking since that may be an issue, just as a heads up. There's a good assortment of pastries to choose from and we settled on a chocolate birthday cake macaroon and one of their chocolate hearts. The workers seem very happy and friendly but they did take a while to work through the line and also get our stuff ready to go. Once we got our things we ended up taking it to go but ate it within a few minutes of stepping out. The chocolate birthday cake macaroon was good, but not stellar. It does a good job as tasting as it would be advertised, but it wasn't anything we felt you couldn't get at another bakery. Similarly, the chocolate heart was good, but not as good as you would expect for something coming out of a place dedicated to baking. That might seem a bit harsh, but let us clarify that their baked goods are much better than store bought, just not as good as we had hoped them to be. We will definitely be back if in the area to give them another shot, hopefully for brunch so we can try out some more of their other options as well.

Waltons is an interesting local eatery in West 6th. I'd say the ambiance and the convenience are the key standouts of this place. There are no real practical parking being located off the corner of a downtown block so you're really only coming if you are already around the area. The staff is nice and warm and they also have cute boutique-y trinkets and flowers for sale but as a restaurant / food establishment, it really feels like things fall flat. To start, the food is extremely pricy. Their menu is mainly simple staples - soups, salads, and sandwiches, but expect to pay almost $25 after tax and tip for any one of these options since most items have a base price of $15 - 20 for a relatively modest portion size. The food itself is largely forgettable, and again seems to peg the location and convenience over any standout culinary qualities.

Excellent food and pastries on west 6th. Great service with quaint decor. Big delicious burger at lunch. Delicious sandwiches, soups or breakfast, great matcha lattes. Now open for dinner some days and serving great pizza.

I was visiting Austin and stopped in to this place for a quick lunch. Love the fresh tomatoes, soup and salad! The mozzarella salad was phenomenal. Everything was super fresh. The environment was excellent as well and I loved the plants.

Nice walk in Café for an 8 AM dash. I ordered the avocado toast and a Cortado and a café au lait. Their version of avocado toast is pretty good with the pickled onions, adding nice pop-up color and crunch and tartness. The Cortado was also very good. The disappointment was the Café au lait, which was terribly watery. I'm sure they would have substituted if I had been at the restaurant, but this was a to go order. They were friendly at the counter and accommodating of my request for scrambled eggs rather than soft yolk for the avocado toast. I'll probably come back for another breakfast tomorrow

I have not been back to Walton's since 2022 and I was pleasantly surprised to discover that they now have chicken sausage on their breakfast menu! I ordered a biscuit sandwich with of course, chicken sausage and it was made with a herb aioli that was surprisingly good. My husband chose the eggs Benedict and enjoyed it. I love that your food is not just made to order, but lovingly, made it order. I couldn't help but notice the presentations of each dish and I really appreciated the attention to detail to each plate. Waltons is also one of the very few places you can get a good sandwich or salad without breaking the bank. The dessert case is always extremely tempting, but I settled for the honey lavender latte instead.

Sandra Bullock's fancy basics are an excellent choice for a house-blend mocha on the scenic 6th street patio or more intimate lunch indoors. Like the gourmet Panera, I'm always excited to try a new combination of housemade breads and croissant with a half-sandwich/salad combo. Ingredients are fresh, flavors are original. Turkey Sweet with the apple-onion chutney, bacon, and maple aioli is my go-to with a Spinach & Arugula salad - classic, with polish. My favorite thing must be trying to decide which beautiful pastry from the case - latest crave was a chocolate fondant covered honey cake with a special blend mocha - every sort of indulgent, atmosphere included.

I've had lunch here on two occasions and both experiences were different. The first visit was amazing. After placing our order, the food was brought promptly to our table. On my second visit (party of 3), we placed our orders and had to repeatedly check with the front staff for an update. We got our food 30mins later. Meanwhile, people who had arrived after us were immediately served. It appeared our order was lost in queue or mixed up during the handling process. Needless to say, our food was delicious, but the excessive wait time was not pleasant.

My sister lives in Austin took us here for brunch and it was not disappointing just like the owner (American sweetheart, Sandra Bullocks). The moment you walk into the establishment, you just felt relaxation right away, no need to rush or anything (even though it can be crazily packed on the weekend). You ordered right there at the counter and get your # and go get the table in the back or in the alley which decor can be colorful and girly but masculine enough for the men. Great staff from the front to the back. Great quality of foods, fresh & tasty. Want to get more but tummy is just fully packed so have to be another time. Check it out and enjoys the great foods, great drinks, great atmosphere and great staff. Price wise, good but can be on the high end but definitely worth it.
