Sign at front door say $2.00 margaritas all day every day.  I ordered a margarita and then another margarita.  Received our check to find we were charged $10 each for margarita.   I was suppose to tell our waiter that I wanted the $2.00 margarita.    Made no effort to make our visit right. And the waiter was not that good.  Had to constantly flag him down for service.  The food is very good.  But will not return. They made me feel it was my fault for the charge.

Food is delicious, service is amazing! I go quite often and have never had any issues with anything. Every time I go and Sergio is working, he consistently checks up on my table and makes sure my experience there is nothing but great. Definitely one of my favorites restaurants in Brownsville. I would and have recommended this restaurant multiple times.

Review for Russo, New York Pizzeria – Brownsville, TX

Our experience at Russo, New York Pizzeria in Brownsville was beyond disappointing. We booked the venue for a Sweet 16 celebration for my granddaughter, and it was an absolute nightmare.

First, the air conditioner was not working, and the heat was unbearable. Guests were sweating the entire time, and when we asked about the issue, the waitress rudely dismissed us and even cursed at us. He admitted that the air conditioner had been broken for months. This level of unprofessionalism is unacceptable.

The manager Sergio was no better. Instead of addressing our concerns, they were dismissive and showed no intention of helping. There were no apologies, no solutions—nothing. After paying over $800 for this event, we were treated with such disrespect.

The food was subpar and tasted old, and to top it off, they didn’t even offer us to take the leftovers we paid for. It felt like they were doing us a favor by even serving us. Despite repeated attempts to get in touch with the owner, we never received a callback.

Adding insult to injury, it seems the manager Sergio has been encouraging family and friends to leave false positive reviews to cover up the restaurant’s failings. Don’t be fooled by those reviews—this place has serious issues that they’ve neglected for far too long.

If you look back at reviews from months ago, you’ll see complaints about the air conditioning, so it’s clear they’ve made no effort to fix anything.

Do not waste your time or money here. The service is terrible, the food is bad, and the management is completely incompetent. If I could give zero stars, I would. Save yourself the frustration and go somewhere else.

Never disappoints to go to Russo’s to have a cold beer with garlic knots and some pasta. As a server myself, I’m very observant. I notice how Sergio, the manager is ALWAYS checking up on me to make sure I’m fine. And Raymond my server, did a great job at explaining food items and drink recommendations. 10/10 experience.

We recently reserved the room in the back for a small event and it all turned out great. Sergio helped us out letting us set up early and serving all the food. We were a big group but he was very attentive.
