Been to velvet taco numerous of times at different locations. We did uber eats and husband and I each got the Say What Combo - includes 2 tacos of choice, a side, & drink. I got the fish n chips & birria duo w/ curry queso. Husband got smash burger & steak taco with guac. More than enough food for one person! the Curry queso was yum, tacos were delicious as well. We did delivery so the tacos weren't as fresh and hot as it would've been if we ate at the restaurant. happy sugarland now has a velvet taco!

Happy they put this new location in Sugarland!! Won't have to drive to memorial city anymore lol They have a drive through and a bigger patio. Took over the old chic fil a location High and low tables available

Was so excited to hear about a Velvet Taco opening in the area - it's been awhile since we've had it since we moved out of the city. As with most popular restaurants that start to franchise, you worry about the quality of the food being the same, and that's why I only did 4 stars. While the taco I tried was still very good the queso wasn't like the queso I'd get at the first Houston location. It was 40% onions in congealed cheese which was disappointing. I'd still try again though!

First time at a Velvet Taco. It was mid. Nothing exciting and no real flavor. Tried the shrimp taco, the tikki masala and elite. Food had some spice but again no flavor. Dont know if it was necessarily this location or just a Velvet Taco thing.

The food is great. So glad they added this location! WThe Kick ass Margarita is fire. I just had to add Grand Mariner because I am extra. Staff member Ashley is the greatest!! Will definitely be back again!!

I hate to give a bad review to a normally great restaurant. The cooks and employees are all 5 star rated. The manager Shawn, not so much. I was picking up a catering order. Catering orders are typically placed a day in advance. So he had plenty of time to prepare this order. It was supposed to be ready for pick up at 11:15am. I arrived on time and proceeded inside. I spoke with Shawn and he informed me they were "still working on it" as he pointed to the open box on the counter. I pointed at what looked to be my order and he acknowledged. I told him I'll start taking stuff to my car. I took some stuff to my car and returned and saw 2 remaining boxes where I had just picked up. To ensure that I was taking everything pertaining to my order I looked for Shawn to get confirmation. He was standing about 12 feet away with his face in his phone. I had to flag down another employee to get his attention. He looks over at me and I point at the 2 boxes and say - is this everything. He says yes. So I take the 2 remaining boxes carefully, not running, to my car and load them. I get my bearings and set my GPS for my delivery destination. I arrive at the delivery and the delivery recipient in the parking lot. The first thing she says is - the manager just called and said you left half the food behind. Why would it be necessary to call the customer in the first place? Was he going to ask her to come get it? Or relay a message to me to come get it? There was no point in him calling other then to lay blame on me. A proper manager would have just taken it and sucked it up. But he wanted to make sure everyone knew it was my fault. So he brings the remaining food(one box). I catch him coming off the elevator and the first thing he says - are you the one who told her it was my fault? This woman did not seem like the type of person waiting to tell him - now that you're here I just thought you might like to know what the delivery driver said. I guarantee you that he asked her when handing off the food - did he blame me? What kind of manager stirs up drama like this? I confess to him that i told her and he says - that's f#$ked up! I'm not sure why I bothered at this point, but I attempt to explain to him just as I told the customer. How I had to get another persons attention to ask him if this was everything. That other employee will probably remember him saying yes. But he wants to make a scene in a parking lot at a client location. Trying to cut me off and talk over me because he won't accept the fact that he screwed up. We wouldn't even be having this conversation if he had done his job and had a simple catering order ready at the pre-scheduled time. I'm normally not one to judge but after talking to me the way he thought he could, it's open season. I witnessed a real life female, possibly male, Karen in the wild. After the exchange in the parking lot I see what he's driving. Once I reveal this everything will make sense - a GOLD SUV - you can't make this stuff up! Well, I could but I'm not. Every catering order I have picked up was always ready 5-15 mins before the scheduled pick up time. They made the mistake of giving me a copy of this order and all the details. In the top left hand corner in BOLD it shows the order number, the date and the time of pickup - all highlighted by them. And, drum roll please,.......their pick up time says 11:05 AM. I left VT at 11:17-11:18am. You had nearly 6+ hours to prepare for this order and you were still fumbling the order at 11:17-11:18am. I made one trip to my car and communicated with you clearly and you still needed more time? If you can't handle the heat, get out of the kitchen. I'm not sure how you got your position as manager but clearly Velvet Taco is hurting for talent if they label this as acceptable behavior from "managers" Need I say more Shawn?
