I went on another Thursday and to my surprise, learned that it was free to enter the museum on Thursdays. It was my first day in Houston and I really enjoyed the varied collection. I wish I would have seen more from the Middle East., specifically Babylon or Chaldea, but nonetheless, I was very impressed with this collection. Unfortunately, modern day sayings got me laughing at the title of the pilgrim mourning his “dead ass”. Overall, I would definitely recommend this museum. Lots of space and lots of various styles to explore.

Wow! I spent two days exploring the museum and the exhibits and curated storytelling is really world class. I really enjoyed my time here and it was the highlight of my trip. Amazing and I highly recommend this eclectic international collection of beautiful artwork!

Thursday is always the day we like to go we can save a little money since Thursday is free starting at 11am. If you do want to see other exhibits you can also do that for a few either way you will have fun here. Just watch your step around the artwork and no touching there are certain exhibits that do have a little interaction. Hope you have a wonderful time at the Houston Art Museum.

World class museum in Houston.  The permanent collection is excellent with a good variety of modern art.  Temporary exhibits are great as the museum gets hold of some of the best global
Art.   One of the current exhibitions-Meiji Modern- is truly inspiring. A great collection of paintings, ceramics and furniture that showcase a
Great period of Japanese art.

I got dual membership and it is totally worth it! Individual tickets are at $24 while dual membership for free annual admission is at $95 plus free Sat evening events. We went to the museum twice in a quarter already, gotta go there more than 3-4 times for sure. The current exhibition is colorful and rich in culture immerse. I love it so much.
