Hade inte varit där på ett tag hört talas om deras nya restaurang (Penny Quarter) och beslutade att göra en natt av den. Kom dit tidigt eftersom det blir väldigt trångt efter 8 s. Du kommer att läsa menyn via telefonficklampa här, men de två cocktailsna som jag beställde var på plats - - expertiskt balanserad och bara ett bra exempel på vad en hantverkskocktail kan vara. Denna plats är snygg och ganska upptagen på en tisdag kväll. Min enda tvist är att tjänsten går långsamt - det finns verkligen ingen bordservice, så du kommer inte att känna att de bryr sig om du är där eller inte, lol. Min man föredrar också tequila, så han kände att menyn var mer whisky-driven (jag brydde mig inte om att jag är ett whisky-fan). Men om du inte bryr dig om bristen på bordservice och den mörka atmosfären, och du uppskattar en välblandad cocktail, är denna plats definitivt för dig.

Anvil har fantastiska drinkar i en riktigt cool atmosfär. Kom hit med 3 vänner, och vi alla fick olika drycker. De var alla riktigt bra. Jag beställde Hello, Dolly! Det var väldigt uppfriskande. Dryckerna var rimligt prissatta för en hantverkscocktail. Jag skulle komma tillbaka hit för säker.

Stor liten hemlig plats - - Det är tydligen inte så hemligt! Små pittoreska plats och inte idealisk för en stor grupp men om du kommer dit tillräckligt tidigt hittar du en barstol med ditt namn på den. Jag har varit här ett par gånger och bartenderna är uppmärksamma och behöver inte be om en enkel vattenpåfyllning. De är på det!

Träffade vänner här för att njuta av whisky och hantverk cocktails. Bar anbud var fördelar och drycker var kreativa, välgjorda och omedelbart concocted, men rummet var så högt att vi inte kunde höra varandra tillräckligt bra för att njuta av upplevelsen. Anvil måste göra något för att hålla energinivån uppe och samtidigt tillåta gäster att kommunicera utan att behöva ropa för att höra varandra. Värt ett besök trots potentiell hörselnedsättning.

Ingen tvekan om det, de drycker som utarbetats av bartendersna på Anvil Bar & Refuge är utmärkta. Jag började med en Ramos Gin Fizz som var mycket väl förberedd - en av de bästa jag har haft. Följde det med ett sista ord som också var precis rätt.

Här hittar du en trevlig välkomst. Det finns stora skyltfönster mot gatan, så rummet var lite ljusare än vad jag föredrar på eftermiddagen, men hälften pris happy hour (från att öppna klockan 4 till 5 PM) var välkommen. Golvet är slät betong, och även om taket är högt, finns det inte mycket att dämpa ljudet av konversationer över diskret och intressant musik som spelas.

Jag försökte stanna här inne 2015, men kunde inte hitta en plats att parkera i grannskapet. Att komma hit i en hytt eller rida - dela service fungerade mycket bättre den här gången. Och det är så som jag skulle klara det nästa gång, och jag hoppas att det snart kommer nästa gång. Detta är ett bra ställe.

Vi hade stora svårigheter att hitta bra drinkar i Houston. Det är främst en ölstad. Vi snubblat äntligen på The Anvil och blev äntligen belönad med sakkunniga bartendrar, ett bra urval av bourbon och rågwhisky och en vänlig, låg nyckelpenare. Definitivt kommer tillbaka.
