I booked this room just a few days before we arrived. The king suite was actually cheaper than a standard room with two queen beds. The King Suite was very large. There was a lot of open space in addition to the king bed and the living room area. Even though it was February, it was actually quite warm and humid inside the room. We had recently experienced temperatures in the teens in Dallas, so being in a room with the temperature in the mid 70s, seemed unbearably hot. We had to find the A/C and turn the temperature down a few degrees. The hotel is located near the arts district where we were planning to spend our Saturday. The earliest we could checkin was 3pm, so we spent our day visiting the city and just left our luggage in the car. Checkin was super easy since we already had a reservation. Parking was included. The property has a fence around it, so the parking felt relatively secure. It was also well lit. The spots in the front were mostly taken, but you could drive around to the back of the building and easily find a space. The hotel has an elevator, but it is very slow. We used the stairs quite a bit, but found the elevator useful for carrying our bags upstairs. The view was limited and not very appealing, but the building only has about three floors. Amenities like a pool, gym, and laundry facility were also available at no added charge. The Wifi name and password were printed on the room key to make it easy to connect. Breakfast was included. The breakfast area had several tables. the meal is buffet style. They do have hot items like scrambled eggs, sausage, and breakfast tacos. You can make a waffle or toast bread or a bagel. Cold items like juice, yogurt, cereal are also an option. Two staff members were there making sure food was readily available and that things were kept clean. There were a few items that bothered me about this particular hotel. One, there was no TV reception in my room. I couldn't believe there weren't any channels, not even local channels! I was also annoyed that the bathroom sink was not draining properly. My husband had to play with it to get it to drain at all, and even then, it took a very long time for the water in the sink to empty after washing my hands or brushing my teeth. Lastly, the light switch at the entrance of the room only controlled the lighting in the entryway. I had to go around and turn on individual lights to feel like it wasn't so dark. These were minor inconveniences, but for the price, I would have expected these not to be an issue at all. The staff at the front desk were very pleasant and went out of their way to help me. On the day of our departure, my husband wasn't feeling well. They provided me with some bottled water as well as a Sprite to help his stomach. I was so touched by this offer. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. We both got a good night's sleep.

I had to spend a night at this place recently while traveling for work. I was very impressed with the friendly, helpful and professional woman who checked me in. The room was a really nice size little suite. Everything was very clean. That's the first thing I require at a hotel (cleanliness). The second thing I really need is a quiet room. This room was both and very comfortable. WiFi was much better than usual at hotels (over 100 mbps both up and down). The breakfast buffet was good too. A nice mix of items that were tasty. They have a coffee bar that open 24/7. Parking is free. Frankly, I'll stay here again because it had everything I like when I stay in a hotel.

Very Clean, well appointed, nice breakfast selections, AND very friendly, honest Staff. I forgot my hang up clothes, and they called me within an hour and offered to ship to me if we couldn't come back! That to me is extremely commendable! We definitely recommend this Hotel!

We have stayed in Best Western Hotels all across the United States......been to some bad, been to some great. This one is one of the best we have been to. Audrey and Mary at the front desk were friendly and welcoming from Day 1, and have been more like long-lost old friends. We had an issue with the room safe, and the maintenance man was there within 5 minutes, and had everything fixed in a jiffy. The housekeepers are on top of their game, and kept our room immaculate. Breakfast is scheduled to start at 6am every day, but is hot and ready at 5am. Coffee is available 24-7, and the business center worked very well for me to plug in while remote. Definitely would suggest coming to this hotel, and go eat at Barnaby's when you are in town.

When 20k people descend on Houston for a conference, it can be hard to find a hotel. I was fortunate enough to book a hotel just a mile away from the convention center. I didn't have a car, so I usually walked or took a Lyft between the hotel and the convention center. The walk is a bit long and you walk through some shady parts of town. You'll definitely sweat from the heat. There's a hotel shuttle, but more on that later. I checked in on a Tuesday afternoon. Check-in was smooth. The front desk was very friendly, provided times for breakfast, information on hotel amenities, wifi, etc. I asked if there was a grocery store nearby. The front desk took that to mean whether or not I could buy alcohol nearby :D, but what I really wanted was to buy toothpaste. They told me that toothpaste was provided in the room -- that's a first! In any case, there isn't a grocery store nearby. The room was immaculate. It was very clean. One of the things that I immediately noticed about the room was how large it was. Most hotels I stay in are similar to efficiency rooms, but this one had couches and a small living room table. And guess what was in the bathroom? Toothpaste! Incredible! This was definitely a first. One of the things that I noticed was a lack of power outlets by the beside stands. However, there are USB outlets, making it convenient to power your devices. I don't know why I didn't think about using the USB outlets on the first night. Wifi is complimentary, but it gets extremely slow to the point that it's unusable at night. I often found that I had to use my cellular network to get internet access. The hotel offers free breakfast in the morning. It often included fruits, cereals, eggs, sausage or bacon, juices, coffee, etc. There are only a few tables available in the breakfast area. In the afternoons and evenings, there is iced water available in this area. There is complimentary shuttle service. However, shuttle service only operates in the morning and in the late afternoon. On Friday, there is no late afternoon shuttle service. There is no weekend service. While shuttle service is provided, I only used it once or twice. Essentially everyone staying here was going to the convention center. However, it was difficult to estimate when the shuttle would arrive, so most of the time I took a Lyft. One time, I was in the shuttle and we were on our way, but the shuttle was called back to the hotel to pick someone up. At night, the front sliding doors are locked. You have to have your keycard in order to enter. I know this because I forgot my key in my room and came back to locked doors. However, the front desk staff saw me and let me in. You can rest assured that it's safe to stay here. This Best Western was probably one of the nicest Best Westerns I've stayed in. Overall, this is a great place to stay if you're staying in Houston. However, make sure that you have plans for transportation. Guest parking is free here if you have a car.

Great little hideaway. Very friendly staff, and best of all, clean rooms! It might look a little old but it's fresh and clean inside. Close to Minute Maid Park, quick and easy Uber ride away. I'll definitely be back when I need to stay in the area!

Stayed here while stopping through on a road trip. Area was a bit sketchy right around the hotel but they have parking security at night I was told. Lady at check in was very nice and helpful. Gave us great BBQ recommendations when I asked. Room was nice and clean. Nothing to complain about. They serve hot breakfast - we had breakfast tacos - which was nice since many are not because Covid. Pool was open but spa was not ... I believe that was Covid.
