"If you know your history Then you would know where you coming from" -Bob Marley (Buffalo Soldier) Great, tiny museum jam-packed with American history! I love it when knowledge acquisition is short, sweet, and to the point. It took us about 45 minutes to get what we needed and feel like we learned a few things on a fine Saturday afternoon. It was $10 well spent to appreciate the contributions of black soldiers to the United States Army from 1866 on! Salute!

I went here on Thursday November 10th for my birthday right after my lunch. Luckily, this place isn't far from Lucille's in Houston, TX. Upon, entering the building you'll see that there's renovation to the old Buffalo Soldiers National Museum that should be ready by 2024. Once, I made it inside I had a sign a form, the Museum would had cost me $10, but it was free for me I believe the guy that worked the front said since I arrived there before 2pm. Everything, in the Museum is in 1st level, it was definitely a beautiful learning experience to be in the Buffalo Soldiers National Museum, and I can't wait until the building is finished with the renovation so I can come back. Buffalo Soldiers National Museum is located in the historic Museum District in Houston, TX. I highly recommend others to checkout the Museum whenever you're in Houston.

Great museum of some interesting American history. It's just not about the Buffalo Soldiers but so much more information is give on our American History, many things O thought i knew I got clarification on including their early history and how they worked through the years. There are different displays and rooms with different topics for viewing. The is a movie that we sat and watched that gave some good history knowledge. We were happy we stopped to get this experience while in Houston Until next review Kisses

The history here is incredible! This is a must visit museum. Even though it's small it's mighty in terms of preserving history. I learned so much, especially about the Buffalo Soldiers riding bikes through the West and the fascinating story of Cathay Williams / William Cathay who disguised herself as a man and enlisted in the army as the first African-American woman. I also think it's great that the museum given omage to "Buffalo Soldiers" of today, or African American men and women who served and continue to serve in the armed forces. In one room there is an exhibit dedicated to Black astronauts and has a biography of each one. I loved reading about them. The museum could use a bit of a face lift as some of the exhibits aren't the most accessible in terms of font, size, and placing of photos/objects. Donate to the museum if you can!

Incredible place to learn about the history of Black people contributing to the United States military. It makes me proud as a black man to see and know that so many people sacrificed so that I can be where I am today. From the bottom of my heart, thank you! this museum is underwhelming as a whole. not busy at all. free thursday. friendly/attentive guy working at the front. there's a terrible glare on a lot of what's on display.

I contracted with the museum for a bridal shower i one of their event spaces. The price was fair and the location was great super convenient if you're not wanting folks to travel very far. The parking is free and ample. Its shared with HCC but our event was on a Saturday afternoon but I doubt its a problem even during the week as there are two lots. The staff was SUPER helpful, showing me where everything was, giving me a cart to transport supplies from parking lot and the head building engineer was the best. Helped us operate the elevator lift upstairs, never let any trash overflo etc. The venue events coordinator answered all my questions whenever I called and was very professional and gracious! My family and I loved the space and had a great time. Kuddos to the staff !!! Would use them again
