First time I came here was alright experience, because I knew the DJ on Sundays. But second time I came here with other friends, the security is so disrespectful and made my friends pay TWICE, because he said he felt like it. They are the most disrespectful people and even the cocktail waitresses are trying to hustle you for money. They will say they don't have change for a $20 bill when the shots they give out are $5.. The alcoholic drinks at the bars don't even have alcohol in them. ALL juice or chaser each drink was like $10 and they expect a tip. Definitely will not be back ever! DO NOT RECOMMEND. The reason this place has a low rating is because it's the TRUTH. Ghetto and Ratchet are the right words.

Got there early since we were in the area and wanted to get a table for my friends. The bottle came out to $162.38 which was cheap, but the server decided to Grat herself $50.00!!!!! I understand the waitress has to make some money but That's CRAZY....I've never been anywhere that they tip themselves about 30% or more. They don't even do this in Vegas or Miami!! To make it even worse the service was horrible, she never came back around to serve us another drink or ask if we needed anything else. Pros- Good music with multiple DJs. -The place wasn't to packed so the bartenders were quick to make our shots. Cons- High gratuity on table service - Bad service - Cover charge ($10 that day but not if changes)

I attended a birthday party here and I don't think I will return. For positives, the venue is spacious with a large outdoor patio and and an inside area as well. There are full bars both inside and outside. The host had bottle service so I can't speak on the prices or quality of drinks, but the table attendants were nice and made sure our group never ran low on ice or mixers. What turned me off from this place were the patrons. I'm not sure if it was because it was Pride weekend and many people were in celebratory mode, but it was a rowdy bunch of folks around us. In addition to all the rowdiness, the music sucked. The dj was lively, but I just wasn't a fan of his music selections. Sorry. Not for me.

I was unsure about this place based on the inconsistent reviews, it seems like a lot of people had very bad experiences here. After visiting tonight, I am sadly one of those yelpers who will not be coming back here. Let's start with the moment we walked up. They told my husband that "Jordans weren't allowed", yes, sneakers are ok... just not Jordans. Insert blank stare here. We were so taken back by this seemingly random "rule", the bouncer then says that we can "tip" him $20 to get in. I'm already over it so as we were about to leave another guy walks over and tells the bouncer we are now ok to come in...Gee thanks. The music wasn't that great and the staff was an overall mess. The drinks were watered down and all had a weird taste to them. Overall, I can see why there was so many negative reviews about this place. As always, Yelp never fails. I won't be back and I would definitely advise you to skip this place too.

I came here for a Day Party while in Houston for the Texans vs Cowboys game. It was a cool spot inside and outside seating and sections with a live DJ. It has 2 big bars inside and out. There were TVs all around the bar area. The drinks were reasonably priced and they offered drink specials. They also offers hookah service. Also, there was a good service that was cash only in outside patio area. The place offers plenty of room to sit, stand and move around.

I'm in love that there are more and more places popping up along the train route. The train was installed more or less as a requirement for the Olympics. It was rushed and honestly pretty useless. Hopefully, with better planning and expansion it will be actually useful. I'm not near it so I can't truly take advantage of drinking and riding alternative. However, if you are looking for fun things to do, take a trip up and down the train path and try different restaurants and bars. It's a great addition for tourists. As far as the bar itself, it's pretty chilled and a huge patio area in the back.

Never will I return ... paid $20 for VIP parking to wait 45 to 1 hr to get my car very unorganized valet and rude they need to get them a walkie talkie system. Or some kind of system .. over charge for no reason not worth it

AWFUL business practice!!!!!!!! My friends and I purchased a booth for 10 people at $264.74, with the requirement of a bottle purchase ($100-300) (comes with a bucket of beer), and a waitress/waiter. Upon arrival, we had a difficult time getting in the VIP/table line WITH our tickets in hand. We are seated at a table with no shade (luckily the decorations shaded part of our table) and EIGHT seats. The waitress is 'nice' but 'nice' isn't cutting it when it took her almost 45 minutes to bring water and never served us again. We went to the bar and served ourselves. The pitcher of mimosas started at $10 and we purchased 4 pitchers. When we went back to get a few more (still no waitress), the priced had increased to $14 - we purchased 3 more. The lines were ridiculous. That was expected. What wasn't expected was how slowly the line moved. #Capialbarhouston - never again should you advertise all-you-can-eat with the lines as long as it was and moving as slowly as it did. I don't think it was even 40 people in the line and I watched one person stand in the line for 45 minutes! RIDICULOUS!! If you ate all-you-could-eat at this event, I admire your endurance to stand in that long, slow, hot line for ONE basket of crawfish!!!!!! Around 6:15 pm, we were asked to purchase a bottle or give up our table. The establishment stated the bottles were $250!!! What happened to the $100 bottles? **The establishment also asked two others tables next to us to leave. We - it was at least 12 of us - left the establishment. I have frequented many places, but #capitalbarhouston ya'll need PROFESSIONAL help on how to accommodate customers!!!! Not that it matters to Capital Bar, but I will NEVER EVER go to your establishment, refer others, OR speak positive about your establishment when it is mentioned unless this situation is rectified (apology, half off next order, complimentary booth at the next event, SOMETHING).
