Had a not so great experience today at Chilosos. I'm wondering if there are new owners or something, since the quality/service/environment have changed since the last time I was here. We had to sit in three different spots because the ceiling was dripping on us...gross. But that wasn't even the worst part. We placed an order for dine in and the man who took our order didn't give us a number. We asked how they would find us to deliver our meal without a number, and he assured us that he would find us. Fast forward 30 minutes later we ask one of the workers to track down our order (because we saw several other groups after us getting their meals). She comes back several minutes later and asks us what we ordered. She leaves and comes back with a printed receipt of our order to make sure it was the right one. We said yes and she assured us our food would be out shortly. Fast forward another 20-30 minutes and our food is nowhere to be found. We ended up asking for a refund and discovering that they just never put in our order..... After alllll that they STILL didn't put in the order, really? It's not like they were extremely busy. And all they did was point the finger at which employee's fault they thought it was.... we don't care who is at fault, we just wanted our food. They gave us the refund but it took even more time out of our day and we had to just go find someplace else to eat. We were at Chilosos for about 1.5-2 hours total which is ridiculous. Incredibly disappointing. We've been coming to Chilosos for years but have since moved to Austin. We were visiting for the weekend and were excited to stop by, but this visit just sucked all around. Really deterred me and the other 5 people I was with from returning. Hopefully this was just a fluke, but I probably won't be returning regardless. Disappointing! I miss the old Chilosos where the service was consistent and the environment wasn't messy (dripping ceiling over us at three different tables - that's just nasty).

Great food, horrible staff and an even worse atmosphere. I accidentally left my wallet at this restaurant, and instead of turning it in untouched, someone on staff went through it and stole $115, 26¢ in change, and even took two very personal photos. When I contacted the restaurant, I was told it's a family-run business and that they were going to get to the bottom of it. That gave me some hope. But when I followed up a week later, their entire tone changed. Suddenly, they claimed there was nothing they could do and insisted that no one they knew would have taken anything. No apology. No responsibility. Just deflection. What's worse is that they made me feel like it was my fault. For a business that prides itself on being family-run, they showed absolutely no remorse and clearly chose to protect their own instead of doing the right thing. This was by far the worst experience I've ever had at a restaurant. I left feeling robbed, disrespected, and completely disregarded. 0/10 - Would not recommend. I will never return.

Really disappointed with this place. Don't recommend coming here unless you want to wait 25 minutes after ordering to get really bland, cold, unseasoned food, and a disorganized kitchen that asks you 10 times what your order was. This place isn't even packed or busy right now. I'm honestly in disbelief that they called this plate huevos rancheros and charged $15 for it. I brought this to their attention and I was told "what's the problem?" This is a scrambled egg and bean plate with a tiny cup of sauce.... Yeah, avoid this place.

I went to Chilosos Taco House with a group of friends and was excited to try it based on their reviews. When I arrived, I was greeted by the very friendly staff and quickly helped. I ordered a breakfast plate with Carne Asada as well as chips/ queso for the table and a frozen mimosa. The mimosa machine wasn't working right away but we were told they'd have it fixed within 5 minutes which they did - not a problem at all. The food took awhile to arrive and when it did come... it was really cold which we were told it was because "it took them awhile to find our number". Unfortunately, the food had to be taken back and warmed. When it did come back... it was not visually appealing and really looked nothing like carne asada and tasted more like canned beef stew. I ended up leaving most of my plate full because it was not very good which I thought the same went for the mimosa. While I will likely be back to spend time with my friends, I don't anticipate eating here again. With such friendly staff and a nice ambiance, I wish the food was more enjoyable.

The fiance absolutely loves tacos and has probably been to a good number of taco places in Houston. Hope-in-the-wall, authentic taco trucks, you name it.. he's been there. Chilosos has always been a favorite for him. The Barbocoa and steak tacos were juicy, flavorful, seasoned well and fresh! I ordered the crispy taco and actually quite enjoyed it. They have giant breakfast tacos as well with nice soft tortillas! You can fill up with 1-2 cause they're a good size! Smaller place so parking and finding a spot to sit might be though, though they have an area in the back as well. Service is friendly and turnover is quick!

Their breakfast tacos are huge, but I did not expect "yellow cheese" to be American cheese, which absolutely does not belong on a taco. It was a bit nasty. But I'd give them another chance.

This spot is dangerously close to my house. It's easy to drop in for weekend breakfast or take tacos on the go. Tacos are large and filling, and my usual picks are the migas or chilaquiles tacos.

Let's start with debit card fee, ordered fountain soda and only available soda was root beer and lime slice everything else had a note stating OUT. Lemonade $5.99. Chilaquiles had shitty chips w a sprinkling of cheese w green sauce. Ordered 2 tacos and got 1. So 2 tacos, chilaquiles, 1 lemonade and a ln ice tea w bendy plastic fork $50. Next time I'll just keep going to Teo T's. Oh and food was not good. Forgot that part.
