Classical Theatre Company is tucked away in the corner of the same plaza as the new not-so-new location of Little Big's on Montrose. I was a little worried that when I would come out my car may have gotten towed but I was very happy that it was still there when I came out as I wasn't sure if I could park where I did. But back to Classic Theatre Company (abbreviated as CTC henceforth). Last night I went to go see the CTC production of A Doll's House. When I was a junior thespian in high school, I remember reading A Doll's House in my theater arts class. It had made such a positive impact on me that I couldn't wait to go see this production. The lead character was Nora (Torvald's wife) and she was played by a young upcoming actress who literally captivated you the entirety of the play. Although the stage was what you would expect from a small community theater, the way it was produced as well as the acting, I was lost in the play the whole time I was there. Upon entrance the counter is directly in front of you, so there is no way that you can miss the ticket booth. We had purchased our tickets online. There is a discount for students and educators as well as senior citizens and those who are in the theatre industry. The stage is akin to a box theater where you are close to the stage. The only negative I would say was the smell of feet which was due to the fact that the lady behind me took her shoes off. P.U. You shameless heathen. During the intermission you can get concessions like any proper theater. They allow you take those inside. By the end of the second act the house started smelling like a bottle of wine had broken. Everyone left very happy. In my opinion this is a great place to bring your friends, dates, parents, everyone! There is boundless talent here from what I saw last night and I cannot wait to come back. P.S. CTC is in the Chelsea Market so parking is an obvious. Just don't park in areas that specifically reserve the spots for other shops or you will get TOWED!

My mom and I saw The Last Days of Judas Iscariot here on Sunday afternoon and it was awesome! Some of the language might make a church lady blush though, lol. The theater is right down the sidewalk from Danton's Seafood Kitchen and it is very intimate. We really liked the venue (and the play) and we will be back!

Wow, what a great theatre! I was blown away by the performance of The Speckled Band: An adventure of Sherlock Holmes I saw in February. I head about it through Groupon, and since my husband loves Sherlock, I thought I'd get us some tickets for a nice night out. Nestled in the back of Chelsea Market, I probably would never have noticed it if I wasn't actively looking for it. Once you get inside, it's a pretty simple set up. The crew who helped us with tickets and seating were very nice. They had a bar set up where you could buy some snacks and drinks. I opted for a glass of wine, which was only $5! The stage is very intimate, and no matter where you sit you feel close to the action. It makes you feel like you're part of the scene, you know? The set and costume design for this show were amazing. The acting was amazing. I probably would have gone back to see it again if I could have!! Everything was great about this place. Tickets are reasonable prices, the acting was unbeatable, and we left feeling excited about coming back for the next show they do! Bravo!!

This is now called the The Caduceus Theater Arts Company at the Chelsea Market Theater. Same location. We went to their first place as the new theater company: Don't Dress for Dinner. We really enjoyed the comedic play. It was very fast paced and extremely funny. The theater itself is small like other local theaters and the seating consists of three sections of individual chairs that you can move independently. The good thing is that they do not have assigned seating so we were able to choose where we wanted to sit. They have drinks and small bags of pretzels and popcorn as well as candy. Danton's Seafood Restaurant is next to it (across from it really within a few walking steps) so if you have time for dinner, that's a great option. The parking lot is large so you'll have no problems finding a spot.
