I think the billboard sign says it correctly. A cellphone lot with booze! Owner is bartender and probably cook. He is the only person I see here. Dark setting, punk rock music, billiards and darts. Drinks are not expensive. This is definitely not a sports bar! This would be a good place to wait for a delayed plane, cheap place for you and friends to drink and laugh. Certainly a dive bar feel. You get the munchies I would order something, but I'm not coming here to eat dinner. If I'm stuck at the doubletree airport I would visit here again for a beer.

Cute hole in the wall kinda dive bar. Both Theodore and Charles were kind enough to serve us, and this establishment has enough space to visit with your drinking buds. If you're early to HOU, excellent idea to stop by for a bit, and enjoy a few strong cocktails. The entire bar has several vintage Htown memorabilia which is kinda cool. ¡Salud!

The sign message board 'a cell phone lot with a liquor license' ! This is not a fancy place and it's not supposed to be. They have interesting decor with all sorts of airline memorabilia. The music while we were there was playing cool punk style rock, at a good volume to enjoy but not too loud to talk, the owner did say he avoids sports on the tvs, preferring to show mindless entertainment (I think southpark and some B movies were on while we were there). Interesting friendly stop though, glad we went. (I'm not sure they have food - 'grill' in the name but...)

Yikes. This place takes dive bar to the next level. I swung into this bar when my friend found out her flight was delayed. The place is dark giving home to a mildew and smoke smell. However, the drinks are cheap. I got a $7 Tito's with no happy hour special, but $10 card minimum. No food here. He said all he had was frozen pizza. The bathroom. Barf. Ladies, HOLD IT. Go to the jack in the box across the street for food and cleaner bathroom. Two stars for drink prices, decor (airline themed), & friendliness.

This joint is a dump pretending to be a bar. Air quality is poor, shoes stick to the floor, restrooms are filthy. Menu, what menu?

A friend of mine had a four hour layover in Houston, so I picked her up and we stopped by the Cockpit. I'd never been there before. Charlie, the owner and bartender, was welcoming and fun to talk to. It's not a fancy place. It's down to earth and unpretentious. All they had for food was pizza, but it was good, so we didn't care. I would definitely stop by again if I was in the area.

Family flying in. Flight delayed. They land and are stuck on tarmac. After circling through arrival pick-up twelve times, I decided F this, I am going to get a cocktail or find a cell phone lot. Then I see a sign "Cockpit Bar - Cell Phone Lot with Booze" - such a great place. The decor is amazing with so many airline momentos it could be a museum. Wonderful bartender too!! Got the text "we got our luggage" - paid my bill and grabbed my guests. LOVE THIS PLACE!!
