Din Ký 2 is a Vietnamese restaurant, which originated from Orange County, CA, with a second location in Houston on Bellaire Blvd. I got their hủ tiếu đặc biệt or Din Ky Special dry, càri dê (goat curry), mì hoành thánh (wonton soup), and bánh khọt. The dry Din Ky Special was my favorite of the dishes. The noodle dishes come with a prawn cracker on the side, which I like to dip into my bowl. The egg noodles were bouncy, and there were a lot of toppings, including two pieces of shrimp and other meats. Their dry special noodle comes with a sweet sauce on the side. The curry was a bit too gamey for me and only came with one baugette. The wonton soup was a bit on the sweeter side than I prefer, but the wonton pieces were soft. The bánh khọt was another favorite. They came out crispy with eight pieces per order. The inside was a bit spacious, and service was okay. It is pricier compared to other Viet restaurants nearby, but I think I would come back for their special noodles every once in a while.

Tried something different from Vietnamese food other than pho and broken rice Being my first time here, The waiter recommended the Mi Dac Biet Kho dry noodles w sauce on the side This dish is packed with proteins but it lacked flavors. It wasn't bad but it wasn't great either. If you want something different than pho or broken rice then come here. For those of you who have tried other Vietnamese dishes, please let me know where else is good and different

This establishment is still in its early stages of development, which is understandable given their typical growing pains. The service was good; the staff was very nice and helpful. Overall, the food was good. While it isn't unique or particularly special, it manages to do the basics well. I recommend trying the dry noodle special; it's a simple dish. It has a lot ingredients. However, the fried shrimp tasted a bit stale, even though the sauce was flavorful. The fried noodles were good, not too salty and not oily. I would like they offer hoisin sauce as a condiment. They do have your typical items like Siracha, Sate Chili, Pickle Green Pepper and Garlic Slices.

Din Ky 2 should really decide if they're taking card or cash, especially for their sea salt coffee. I've been here a few times, and it seems to change depending on the day. There were no sign visible for $10 minimum charge. A little consistency would definitely make things easier, no coffee this time around since I did not have cash on me, but the coffee is still great.

The review is based on the experience of a party of 2 for early dinner. Pros: Solid Sea Salt Vietnamese coffee! This has become my favorite drink on Bellaire. Their 'Hu Tieu' noodles dishes. We ordered a couple of different types and they were great. We got soup on the side and the broth was really flavorful. We love their condiments! Yes, you heard it right! The pickled garlic was shot for us. Service was great. The wait staff was really attentive and took time with us. I think the restaurant knows that they need to get repeated customers since they are relatively new. We got a couple of tarot tapioca banana coconut desserts as complimentary. That was a good way to end our meal. Cons: Banh Xeo was average but not bad. A few reviews said the price was a bit high but I think it was comparable to other restaurants in the same strip mall and most places on Bellaire.

Went on a Friday afternoon and was super impressed by the food. Normally I wait a bit before a new restaurant opens to try it just so they can work out the kinks in the service and the menu, but I took a risk here and it definitely paid off. We ordered the Hu Tieu Kho, Banh Khot, and the Goat Curry (Cari De) to share. The Hu Tieu Kho was extremely flavorful and had all of the fixings from the meat to the cilantro and herbs, the fried onion crisps, the quail eggs, fish cakes, the soup on the side. The sauce added the perfect hint of savory sweetness without being overpowering. The addition of the crispy shrimp chip definitely elevated the dish. Overall, the flavors are authentic and this dish is on par, if not better, than other places I've tried. (8/10) The banh khot were crispy on the outside and softer towards the center. The flavor was spot on, however, the shrimp being placed on top instead of being cooked into the batter was a less traditional way of cooking the dish. (7/10) The goat curry was super tasty and the goat meat was perfectly tender. This dish surprised me the most as it is not traditionally served at many Vietnamese restaurants, but this place definitely did it justice. (8.5/10) The service was kind and attentive and the lot has plenty of parking. Glad to have tried this spot that originated from the OC and to have found a good late-night spot for Viet food. I will definitely be back!

I've been craving this kind of Mi noodle soup with the fried shrimp! I absolutely love the Mi Kho flavor, the different kind of meat and seafood, and the crisp egg noodle. It is advised to write down your name on the writing pad first when you get there. The restaurant has limited seating and it can get crowded during dining hours. The food came out real quick for us. The fried shrimp, although greasy, is to die for! I also love their Cafe Muoi, which has strong coffee. Give this place a try; it has become my new favorite!
