Our wedding was 10/12/19 and we are not happy with DJS's service. The owner David came well recommended by a another vendor and was very professional in the beginning. We paid our amount in full up front and were offered a discount for full payment and a free Magic Mirror Photobooth. Then over the summer as I tried to contact him for details on the photobooth, etc. and wouldn't hear back from him for WEEKS. My husband would reach out too and David kept asking us to text him when it was an email and email when we would text. He would just dodge and dodge until I threatened to take my business elsewhere. Wish I had. The "Magic Mirror" Photo Booth we received was NOTHING like what was promoted to us. It was a tiny touch screen - not a floor-length mirror selfie booth like what was promised. Also - It's been over 3 weeks and no one has followed up with the digital images from our night. Or anything for that matter. From the beginnning, David said our Dj would be Kelley. Sold him very well as a bilingual DJ. 2 WEEKS before the wedding, David says our Dj is now Gabriel. We met with Gabriel a week before the wedding and turns our he's brand new to DJS. Gabriel was a good latin party DJ but not an MC. He COMPLETELY messed up our anniversary dance. We explained it to him multiple times during the meering, my coordinator had it written down for him and he still did it entirely wrong. When my husband and I explained it to him (while on the dance floor under the spotlight) he just blankly stared at us, nodded, then continued to do it wrong. We had to tell him to just stop and move on to the next item. It was humiliating. At our initial meeting, we asked Gabriel to play some Mexican music and some alternative 80s/70s music for the night (Talking Heads, Disco, Funk, etc.). He just stared blankly at us when we elaborated on the latter. He played mexican music 90% of the night. It alienated half of our guests. At our meeting, we also told him specifically NOT to bring a smoke machine. We told him our space would be too small and the smoke machine wouldn't be a good idea. He brought it anyway and set off the fire alarms with the smoke machine in the middle of our reception. People started to leave. Since then I've reached out to David twice and have yet to hear back. This service was a total disaster and I'm now reaching out publically for my money back. Update 11/15/19 : Still completely NO response from David. Do not hire them.

I met Dave Settle (David Settle), DJ Dave, the CEO of DJS Entertainment and the brains behind DJ DJ, the company's new alias in July of 2019. I interacted with one of the greatest salesmen ever. Metaphorically speaking, I met a man who could charm and disarm people with his rhythmic cadence and showmanship. "Yelp," in MY opinion, Dave was better than Don King as it relates to selling. I purchased DJ entertainment services for an event that I was hosting 6-months out. Along with the standard DJ package, DJS Entertainment sold me on the idea that I needed to purchase dirt and sand for the indoor party (yelp moderators, this is another metaphor, the dirt was equivalent to a fog machine, and the sand represents the disco light). A few months after our initials meeting, I noticed a repeated number of one start rating being posted on yelp. Worried that I may experience the same type of service that D W., Denise S., Carrie V., K J. Joni C., Vicky H. Daisy L, Nayajah D, and Fausto L received, along with the other one star reviews written by Mary B. and Oddie M., that are showing up on the "Not Recommended," list, and the one's that have magically disappeared. I figured that it was imperative that I meet with Mr. Alief (CEO Settle). From my personal experience, it was impossible to connect with DJ Settle. My e-mails, text, and phone calls went unreturned. Since we operate in the same circle, I reached out to a few of his associates and I discovered that Mr. Settle started working for Houston's 97.9 The Box radio station around July and his focus from DJS Entertainment had shifted. In an effort to protect the company's name, along with the money I invested with him for the party, I wanted to speak to him directly, to see if the negative ratings was just a fluke, and that the alleged posting of him using "Push-Play," inexperience friends/gym compadres--I mean DJs--were just lies concocted by a number of yelpers, and that all claims of him making last minutes changes to the assigned DJ, were just an act of Yelp trolls. We never connected and my experience with DJ DJ echoes all the previous post mentioned in the third paragraph. A quote from my original post that was removed, "Sad, a great voice with so much potential, however he doesn't have the intellectual ability to create a strong balance within his crew and run a company, while working for another entity. Thanks to everyone that has provided feedback on the various forms. Mr. Settle, AKA DJS Entertainment's link is no longer active on the Knot. You can only access his page exploring the site as a cached." AVOID! And a message to __________, fix the HTLM documenting outline algorithm or change DJ DJ back to DJS Entertainment to keep the Integrity of the ________.

If I could leave a 0 star review, I would. Like other reviews, David (founder of DJS) was very responsive and easy to work with in the beginning. He answered all my questions regarding a photobooth rental for our wedding. We paid the invoice and waited for our big day. I should have known something was going wrong when it took him forever to give us a copy of our photobooth strip template of our names and design that we chose. I had to ask time after time for it. He kept making excuses and I finally told him that he should not making promises he can't keep. I got my template. The day of the wedding comes: no backdrop or proper lighting for our photobooth. My guests are blurred out and completely dark in some photos. There was a weird tint to the photos and most of my guests on the left and right side of the photos were blurred out due to the color and lighting. Their attendant brought a guest that was not invited and he was on his phone the entire time (not professional at all) I wish I could attach photos for everyone to see. Their "photobooth" set up was a complete joke. I did not get a chance to use it the day of since were so occupied. I did not find out about the product until the week after. David said the online album would be available Wednesday after the wedding (our wedding was on a Saturday). We came home from our first leg of our honeymoon to more excuses of why it wasn't delivered via email yet. We voiced our concerns and David just presented us with excuses and lies. He did not once provide any compensation to the terrible quality photobooth at our wedding at all. Over a week has passed since we last spoke and the album was still not in our inbox. I finally texted him all day on a day we were home and finally got them. He makes broken promises and excuses as to why things were not up to your expectations. I asked for a refund and he responded " we are done" in his email. DO NOT GO TO THIS BUSINESS. Find someone else reputable with all positive reviews. We were referred by another vendor to him and we should have found gone with another photobooth vendor. Our only regret is having such an embarrassing and disappointing photobooth at our wedding for our guests. We wish we could have gone with someone else so the photo quality would have been like a normal photobooth quality. The photostrips he emailed me prior to booking were NOTHING like the ones we got. He is a liar and will disappear once he gets your money. Take your time and money to someone else.

To echo a lot of the other reviews, AVOID. Communication after signing the contract was horrible-we never got to meet in person because he infrequently responded to texts/emails, and no-showed scheduled phone calls. David WILL no-show your wedding. After seeing a lot of the newer bad reviews about his habit of no-showing, I finally was able to get a phone call with David 2 weeks prior to the wedding, and he promised I had nothing to worry about and he would show up as our DJ. Of course, he sent someone random in last minute (without letting us know!! We didn't find out until we walked into reception) who was extremely unprepared and inexperienced. This DJ is not listed on the website as a regular DJ, and he told me himself he was called in hours before the start of our wedding. A few highlights of things that went wrong (but by no means is a comprehensive list): -Defective microphones resulted in no one hearing our entire ceremony, which was the worst disappointment of the day. We had written our own vows, and no one heard them. -The wrong songs were played throughout the night, the new DJ had no idea of any of the song requests we made. -I had to sit down with him during reception to explain the schedule (which he did not have on hand, even though I emailed it to David weeks prior). -None of the DJ announcements I asked for were made. The DJ fiasco was (and still is) the biggest sore spot of my wedding. Please save yourself the trouble and hire a different DJ. I wish I had just followed my gut and hired a new DJ after reading the recent reviews- it would've been worth the deposit $ loss. I've heard nothing from David since the wedding over a month ago: no apology, no explanation, nothing. I also have not received any digital photos from the photo booth, which is promised in the contract. To other affected people, I suggest filing a chargeback through your credit card company.

My experience with this DJ Company was SO-SO. I'll break it down with the situation, pros and cons. On September 19th, I had my wedding which was the day that Tropical Storm Imelda hit. A lot of my vendors had called out or didn't feel comfortable driving in such extreme weather. I hired this vendor months in advance to book them for my wedding. I initially felt an awesome vibe from DJ Dave and he sent me videos of his work so I felt comfortable. Cons: - Two days before my wedding, before we knew a flood would hit, he has another DJ contact me and tell me that he is going to take over because he had just had a baby, and his fatherly duties called. (Okay, I'm an understanding person but here's the kicker, he told the new DJ to call me a week prior than two days before. So I had to give this new DJ the full concept, song list and everything just a couple days to the night before. It's not the same as someone who you've been communicating with from the start but whatever, at that point I couldn't do anything else about it.) - The day of the wedding, apparently the new DJ was on his way to set up, but the commute was way too much and he backed out. - I also booked a mirror through the company. Dave goes out of his way to pick up a "similar" model. The clarity of the print outs aren't great and it's not the same mirror that I initially booked for. I did thank him the day after that because my guests didn't notice and still enjoyed it. - Dave gets a DJ booked in the day of. With that, it is a blessing but this DJ just isn't getting the vision that we wanted. Barely any of my guests got up to dance and we had to keep telling him to up the music a little bit. Certain announcements that I wanted did not get made and I know it was hard for him as well, coming into this situation brand new but in the end I felt slighted with the money that I paid and also with the experience I wanted! - He is hard to get in contact with. Pros: - He did have someone DJ for us the day of but you can read how that went. - He set up the mirror at my venue the day of. - He did text me the next day to see how everything went. Personally though, different factors really encourage certain experiences, but had I the opportunity to do it all again, I would not book with this company at all.

I hired David TWO years before our wedding. Which was 3/14/2020. He had all 5 star reviews across all the wedding sites and then some. Communication was always easy and I felt super comfortable with him. As our day got closer, and I started working on the timeline and looked him up again.... I saw all of these 2 and 1 Star horrible reviews. I sort of freaked out! We booked the DJ first because of how important this was to us. The DJ literally sets the tone and narrates the entire event. So to see all of these changes was scary. I immediately reached out to him and decided to flat out find out what was going on. Why the sudden change? He emailed me back right away even though he was still away on thanksgiving vacation with his family! He explained to me about the changes his company went through and put me at ease that he was with us 100% and would make sure we had the best night. We soon met in person, and that was it. Every shred of doubt was gone. We knew we had the perfect DJ. He was early, set up and ready to go. He worked and communicated seamlessly with my wedding planner. If there were any hiccups no one ever knew! Not even me! When I say we, and all of our guests had the BEST time ever at a wedding... it was because of DJ David. I will 100% hire him again in a heart beat. His voice as an emcee is seriously the best! He kept the dance floor packed all night, all the events went smoothly and his narration was perfect. Everyone was asking who the DJ was. Honestly! He even let my and then my husband take the mic and have our own little karaoke lol we cannot wait to throw another party and him DJ for us again! Thank you so much!!! To anyone steering away bc of the negative reviews here, meet with him first, on the phone and in person and decide then. Because I was seriously hesitant after reading them, thank you Dave for being there for us and not taking offense to my "so why all the bad reviews??!!!" Questions! Lol Ready for our 80/90s prom night parties??!!! HAHAHA

Do not be fooled by the owner David Settle. He is professional, but after you book the company will destroy your wedding. DJ Kelly was our DJ. We provided him an extremely detailed timeline. The day of the wedding, he messed up the processional music, created a long awkward silence during a room transition, played only a few of our requested songs, and was overall an awful DJ. He couldn't even fade songs in and out. All of this after (i) 3 in person meetings, (ii) 10 phone conversations, and (iii) an extremely detailed script. Sharonda was or Photo Booth attendant and she was even worse. She showed up without props, she set up the booth incorrectly causing a 1 hour delay and caused a major disruption as she changed the layout. This is the worst DJ company in Texas.

I am new to Houston, I come from New York, and I have to say that in the beginning David was cool. Had a great conversation with my husband and we were confident that we found the right DJ. We hired him short notice for our wedding but no sweat because they are DJs and they know what to do. Right! WRONG! Well..... come to find out at the time of my wedding we didn't see David, he sent someone else which was never mentioned. My wedding was until 1 am and the DJ told me that we would need to pay him $400 for an extra 2 hours which was never mentioned. That DJ could not play music. My family had to keep going back to him to tell him what songs to play next. I was promised the photo booth pictures and have yet to get them. I have sent emails, left messages, someone finally text me back to apologize and say that they will take care of it. The last text I got was that it was still downloading it should be any minute now. Well minute turned into hours. Do not use them. They are scam artist. Only want you for the money. Will text you everyday before you make a payment but after the payment its hard to get hold of them. Don't use them. Always check reviews before booking.

First off let me tell you do not be fooled by his mannerism. He'll tell you he'll take care of everything and we told him that we needed a Spanish speaker for our wedding. The day before the wedding he lied about meeting up with us to go over the wedding timeline and when the day came he sent somebody else we never met before and he said david called him last minute that he had to attend a different event. Also the music was all mixed up we told him it was a religious wedding and he played something completely different. We had to have family help him translate a bunch of stuff and kept telling him what to announce. During the ceremony he butchered a bunch of names and I get it he didnt know us it was his first time talking to us but that's on david for putting that guy in that situation. Save your money if I knew I'd be getting that type of service I couldve just paid a friend 400 bucks to bring a karaoke machine loud speaker and a laptop with a flash drive. Please dont book
