I'm pretty pleased when Doozo shows up at the guest kitchen (Waterford Cafe?) in the TMC Commons. They appear about twice a month and have a more limited menu than their downtown location. Their prices are very fair with 6 large veggie dumplings for about 6 dollars. The size is dominated by the thick skin but the spinach and egg or tofu stuffing still imparts some flavour before you dunk it into their sweet soy & ginger sauce. I thought about rating this a three but given the fact that I do look forward to when they show up at TMC, I should give them a four.

Foodcourt casual. Northern china style foods. If you are looking for Cantonese style foods, you will be disappointed. Fast. Steamed meat packed dumplings with thick skin =high protein meal. Reasonable price. Service is good for what you get.

This is my first review of Doozo, but I used to eat here regularly - generally at least once a week - between 2008 and 2020. After most downtown workers were sent home due to Covid-19, I didn't eat here for a couple of years. This was my first visit since mid-2022. Their dumplings were, at one time, the very best in downtown, if not all of Houston. Something has changed in the last couple of years such that their dumplings - while still quite good and worth trying - are not the same. My go-to order there is the pork dumplings, extra spicy. It seems the dough is tougher than it once was, and the meat inside has also changed in texture. I noticed that neither member of the couple that had run Doozo for years was there, so it's possible they passed the reins to someone else. I do not want to suggest that this restaurant isn't worth trying - it absolutely is. It is just not the same restaurant that it was five years ago.

I arrived early so I had to wait, staff was friendly but the pork dumplings I ate once before were not the same, the outside of the dumpling was so thick and tough it became unattractive so I ate the inside and to my surprise no taste I'm glad I ordered the small order. Not saying I will be in a rush to come back very disappointed...

I love the sauce for their dumplings and especially the spinach, egg with vermicelli dumpling. it's delicious. I tried their beef brisket with noodles for the first time. The meat is tender and full of flavor. I will go back for more.

Unfortunately the quality has gone down ever since the ownership changed years ago. You can tell by the taste of all three types of dumplings. Not worth it anymore. Now they are just dumplings, and not one the best dumplings in Houston.

I have loved Doozo for a long time (steamed pork dumplings with spicy sauce is my regular order), but the quality noticeably went down after ownership changed during the pandemic. Last week I ordered my usual, and I found a dead BABY ROACH in the dumpling sauce. Utterly disgusting. I will not be returning.

I love the steamed veggie dumplings, and their dumpling sauce is perfect. I have also tried their crab puffs (ok) and hit & sour soup (ok). I really go here for the dumplings...they are great.

Located at The Shop in the Houston Center building, this lunch spot is perfect for something quick and easy. The staff are always friendly and super quick with their service. My favorites are the pork dumplings with hot and sour soup. The perfect combo. They also served spring rolls and soup noodles. Menu is small but a good variety of options. Prices are also affordable. I like supporting small businesses in downtown and this is one of my favorite lunch spots.
