Other than needing an update or a facelift I should say, this hotel is close to the airport and is a safe and reasonable bet when you are on a short overnight. The staff are solid and they've picked us up from the airport before. Not sure if they still do that, so you might want to check.

My recent experience at the DoubleTree by Hilton Houston Hobby Airport was unacceptable from the moment I arrived. As I entered the lobby to check in, I stepped directly into broken glass scattered across the floor in front of the elevator -- a busy, high-traffic area where guests are constantly walking. There was no signage, no warning, nothing to alert anyone to the danger. When I informed the staff, they acknowledged they were aware of the broken glass, but couldn't tell me whether anyone had actually cleaned it up. Spoiler: they hadn't. What made it even worse was the front desk staff's complete lack of urgency. Rather than treating the situation seriously, they continued chit-chatting with each other while I stood there waiting for someone -- anyone -- to take action. It took ten full minutes for a manager to finally appear, and even then, the response was passive and indifferent. This is basic guest safety 101 -- and this hotel failed miserably. No guest should ever have to navigate a hazardous lobby, especially without so much as a caution sign in place. If DoubleTree wants to maintain any credibility as a hospitality brand, this location needs to dramatically improve its response protocols, staff training, and sense of responsibility. Start with prioritizing guest safety and treating urgent concerns like they matter -- because they absolutely do.

Scam from start to finish. Have to pay 15 a day to park and it's not even in the city. No breakfast. Spend the 30 dollars a day you'd lose on parking and breakfast to stay somewhere else nicer. Beds are also very uncomfortable.

Context: We stayed here while visiting the Houston area and before we flew back home from our trip. Location - I picked this hotel because it was close to the airport and offered an airport shuttle, that is a big bonus. The downside to being so close to the Hobby Airport is that there is not a lot of stuff within walking distance so if your plan is just to stay at this place and not venture out, you are good to go. If you want to roam, you might want a car which kind of defeats the purpose of the airport shuttle. To each their own. Building & Rooms - The hotel is spread out like a resort and was larger than I thought it would be. A nice outdoor pool area is in the middle and then hotel is split into two room sections and a medium sized conference area. The rooms are fairly nice and well-sized. We stayed in a King Suite and the size of the room was great, small kitchen area, large living room, and good size bedroom. It also had a nice patio overlooking the pool area. We loved the room, especially since we were somewhat stranded at this place after returning our rental car. Amenities - The pool area is pretty big and in full sunlight for most of the day. With the heat of Texas, the pool is a great oasis to spend an afternoon in. We mainly spent our whole day here. There is a small saltwater aquarium in the lobby that has a nice collection of colorful fish and is relaxing to watch. Food - There is a restaurant that serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner (The Landing) and a bar that serves burgers and bar bites (Sun Dance Bar) in the evening. We went to the restaurant for breakfast and the bar for dinner. Food was pretty good and The Landings surrounding aesthetic was relaxing with lots of natural light and water features. I liked the dinner menu more because it gave us better value for our $$ but both were adequate places to eat on site. Vibe - Pretty chill, middle-class hotel with decent sized rooms and a big outdoor pool. Most of the hotel has been kept in good condition, it is a little older but still in pretty good condition. Since this is a Doubletree, you get free hot cookies (event gluten free!). Service is friendly but gives you your space. The staff were super kind to my kids and went out of their way to show them small acts of kindness. Thank you staff! Reality vs. Online - Online pictures that I saw on their website matched the quality and condition of the hotel and rooms. It met my expectations. Price & Final Verdict - Pretty standard pricing vs. other properties close to the airport. If you are looking for a quiet place to relax and renew as you are flying in or are waiting to fly out, this is a good spot to choose.

Check in was great and the room (suite) was super nice and big. Beds are comfortable and shower had good water pressure. One draw back; this hotel is not in the best area and the security they have is on a budget.... Don't feel all that safe here but the hotel is really nice. Doubletree by Hilton Hotel Houston Hobby was a great stay before my flight. The staff were all friendly, shoutout to Loretta in the restaurant. They have a nice gym and airport shuttle. I'd stay here again.

Big Disappointment. The room we stayed in was room number 234. It was filled with MOLD. Pictures attached. The receptionist and the General Manager (Chris Pool) acted as if that was not a big deal and said it was just a mild dew, when their own facility manager confirmed that it was Mold and apologized. If you love your family or yourself STAY AWAY from this hotel.

GREAT and CLEAN hotel! I fly to HOU often and normally stay at the Hilton Garden (they were booked) but I think I'll make this DoubleTree my go to spot from now on. I stayed here like 8 years ago and it's just as great now as it was then. Super breakfast buffet and super dinner restaurant. The desk staff and restaurant staff are all very friendly. The hotel has an elegance to it!
