Really good business dinner. Our server started out great! But we ended up having to flag him down after a bit, and the restaurant wasn't particularly crowded. Decor was typical Tex-Mex though ever-so-slightly better, with its coffered ceilings and large format portraits. The food came out piping hot, which we appreciated. I ordered the beef fajitas, which were okay. They were tender but could've used more of that charred flavor that I've come to love from great fajitas. To be honest, the beef fajitas I had at their other location was great. These? Not so much. Those that ordered the carnitas said they were okay. Others at the table raved about their crab quesadillas. Maybe next time, I'll try those quesadillas;).

This is by far the best Mexican food restaurant in the houston area. Food is absolutely amazing and the house frozen margaritas are the top notch. I sat at the bar and the bartender Francisco said it was his favorite. it's now mine! I can at lunch, great service at the bar and food/drinks were amazing!!!

My Ground Beef Burrito, light on the beans with one of each rice was very delicious, comforting and moist with some good chew to it. The meat gravy, well-seasoned ground beef in the inside, dough wrap and just enough cheese were all really well-made as were the rices, chips n both sauces obviously too. This Tex Mex wet burrito resembled the La Zona Rosa one the Original Ninfa's places used to sell, which is a real win for me and those that remember that. Great, friendly, welcoming service on my visits here.

Arguably the best Tex-Mex in Houston, El Tiempo Cantina has several outposts in Houston. This one is located in the Galleria area off of Westheimer where The Palm used to be. They share the parking lot with several other businesses but parking shouldn't be a problem. We stopped by on a Sunday evening for dinner. Ambiance (4.5/5): This is a spacious restaurant with a bar area and several large dining rooms. We were seated at a table in the main dining room. Part of what I like about the ambiance here is the bright colors that highlight Mexican heritage. It's a welcoming environment. Service (4.5/5): We had a friendly waiter who took good care of us. I always like a waiter who smiles and genuinely looks like he or she is excited to serve you. Drinks (4/5): When I go to a Mexican restaurant, margaritas are typically my go-to. I went with a classic frozen margarita. They have a nice selection of margaritas, on the rocks or frozen, in various flavors, other cocktails, beer (including Mexican beer), and wine. My only complaint is that the drinks are a bit overpriced. Food (4/5): When I'm at a quality Tex-Mex restaurant, fajitas are my go-to. We went with the beef fajitas which are served on a sizzling platter with the usual accompaniments: tortillas (flour or corn), rice, beans, sour cream, shredded cheese, onions, and guac. They also give you melted butter which is a nice touch. They are arguably the best fajitas in town and I can't fight that. My only complaint? The prices. They have several different fajita options and some of them have exorbitant prices. Even if you go with chicken or beef, it's not going to come cheap. I think we're seeing a trend here. I had a great experience at El Tiempo all-around. If the prices were a little more affordable for what you get, they would be chef's kiss for me.

Came here for the all day $5 house margaritas on Mondays. I ordered a half frozen/half on the rocks with a floater of grand marnier and it did not disappoint. The fried ice cream was delicious! Plenty of parking and customer of service was great!

First time eating at this location and we enjoyed it so much! The minute we arrived, the staff was very welcoming and the decor and ambiance of the restaurant was very colorful and cultural. The menu alone was like "the Bible" with many choices and in-depth descriptions that it took us a good 20 min to make a decision! Our waiter, Samuel was very nice & full of suggestions; he was very attentive to our table needs. We ended up sharing "Las Vegas Chicken" platter bc it had a variety of choices and it didn't disappoint! The flour tortillas were homemade and out of this world!! Big gracias to Lupita, who told us the history of the restaurant. It reminded me of El Fenix restaurant family story in Dallas. We will keep El Tiempo Cantina as a regular choice every time we are in Houston! Muchas gracias!

I thought my family was going to be loyal to El Patio until the end of time, however, El Tiempo successfully won over our taste buds and hearts in 2024. We normally start each meal with their mix-your-own guacamole and then finish off with enchiladas or some version of a combination plate. Their cheese enchiladas are superb, it's the real cheddar cheese and delicious red chili gravy that really makes them shine. Additionally, their rice and beans are always so delicious and fresh. Keep cranking out great Tex-Mex, El Tiempo!

Service was great! I was bummed that they did have any aguas frescas, I had been craving one since I landed in Houston. I got the cheese enchilada with the Texas style red sauce along with beans and rice. The poblano rice was good ! My party ordered fajitas, quail, and shrimp.

Made a reservation for 630pm on a Thursday and was seated immediately. I don't think a reservation was necessary but it does give me peace of mind. I got an order of the beef fajitas 1 pound and the basic parrillada. It was the PERFECT amount of food for our group of 6. The parillada had ribs, quail, chicken, pastor, and sausage. There wasn't a single meat type that I didn't enjoy. The ribs were insanely tender, the sausage was very flavorful and the chicken was well brined and far from dry. I would recommend these two platters for ur party if you're looking for a fajita night with a little *spice*

Food was delicious. Drinks were delicious. The staff was kind, patient and helpful. The atmosphere not great but with good company, it can easily be overlooked.
