Food is very good. My favorite Bao is the Panko fish. Is delicious. The guys are always very helpful and friendly. Fast service. Is always nice and cool in there very clean too.

I think the concept is cool to try different bao flavors, but I think because this restaurant only focuses on bao, their prices need to be higher to continue business. At $15 for two baos, the Bulgogi and duck baos tasted average (bulgogi on the saltier side). They were also hard to pick up and eat because of how oily the outside of the baos were. I wish they came with those corner pocket pouches to make it easier to eat and hold like how the restaurants in nyc do it.

This place has a variety of baos if you're craving it. My friends and I got different kinds but I got the bulgogi and pepper tuna along with some curry fries. The baos are pretty good - slightly wish the bulgogi can be a little less salty and pepper tuna to be more flavorful. However, this place stills a good place to go for baos. The service is fast once you place the order at the cashier, and the place is decorated well.

I had to go back and adjust my review to a 5 star as this place is always a hit whenever I stop by when I'm in the area! They fixed the AC now so it feels great in there and the beef bulgogi is just as good as always! Thanks for the awesome experiences here guys!

Came here for a quick and casual weekend lunch. Its in a pretty empty strip mall so there's ample parking but also easy to miss as the strip mall as a whole almost seems abandoned. You order at the cashier and you can either take food to go or eat in with a seat yourself kind of deal. The staff were all friendly and helped explain the menu (as I missed the menu on the counter that had details of what the items consisted of). We ordered the yummy fries (rosemary parmesan sauce), memphis (pork belly with asian slaw), panko tuna, and crab daddy (soft shell crab). I think food was pretty fairly priced considering the amount of filling in the baos and shareable size of the fries. I really enjoyed the shoestring fries and thought they were nice and crisp and held up to the heavier sauce. The bao were also good and I personally liked the Memphis the best. I was let down by the crab daddy as it didn't have much flavor, even though its a whole soft shell crab. I'd come back for more fries as I'm a fry fiend but also curious about a lot of their other bao varieties. I do wish they had some lunch specials or something as prices can add up fast esp since a meal is probably 2-3 baos so can become a 10-20 meal pretty fast but also inflation so maybe that's normal now.

The beef bulgogi bao is phenomenal and reasonably priced. The duck is good but not amazing and a little pricey. The fried byrd is fun and different but a little heavy. And the beef curry bao was a little odd and not so tasty. Nice people, sort of odd ambiance, weird mini mall. Decent service. Solid 4*. I'll be back for more bulgogi bao

I got the bulgogi and pork katsu bao. Total was $10.99 for the 2 baos. I ordered at the front and the guy was helpful in giving recommendations. It took about 8 minutes for my food to come out. Food was okay. The bulgogi flavor was good but the bao texture wasn't very fluffy and kind of dense. The pork katsu bao tasted better but not amazing. There's four longer / taller tables with bar stools that seat 6 and 4 regular tables. Fat Bao is located in a plaza with a large parking lot. Easy to park

Fat Bao is one of Houston's most uniquely establishments. Located in upper Kirby, they specialize in a large variety of Bao buns. My favorite is their crab daddy, their most popular bun. It's a big soft shell crab with some spicy mayo and Asian slaw. The soft shell crab is really big and has a perfect crunch to it. You can actually taste the crab flavor from the innards. The spicy mayo has a tiny kick to it and provides some creaminess, pairing really well with the crunch from the Asian slaw. I would come for this bun alone. I also got the bulgogi bun which is made with marinated beef ribeye, kimchi, and green onions. The beef was tender and had a sweetness to it. The kimchi was kind of bunched in one area so I basically ate ate it in one bite. This bun was a lot more greasier too. If I come back here, which I definitely am, I'll for sure get the crab daddy and maybe try another item

This place never disappoints. I've been going here for years and am always happy when I leave. From quick service to consistently delicious meals, Fat Bao comes through. There's plenty of seating and nice high tables with stools that I like. My go-to is the spicy Thai bao with the fat fries. There's something magical in the sauce on the spicy Thai. The chicken is so succulent and pairs so well with the soft bao. The fries also tows the line between western and eastern flavors perfectly. And if you're in the mood for dessert, you can't go wrong with the ice cream bao or Nutella bao!
