I've lived in the Hearthstone neighborhood for three and a half years, and have been a member of the club since I moved in. The club is part of the Invited network (formerly known as ClubCorp). It's my opinion that the club, while not in bad shape when I first joined, has improved over the last few years. The golf course has been one of the better ones I've played on, and it's great having three 9-hole courses to pick from. The pro shop generally has a good selection of equipment and clothing, and members get 20% off on clothes. Sports like pickleball and tennis are available. Also, groups that play games like mahjong and poker meet here to play. The main restaurant, the Red Wolf Bar & Grille, has many choices with a seasonal menu and monthly drink specials. The waitstaff are friendly and attentive, and if you buy the X-Life add-on to your membership, it's well worth it if you eat at the restaurant at least a few times per month. Special weekly events, like Tasting Tuesdays and Pasta Night on Thursdays, add variety by offering items not on the regular menu. The outdoor restaurant, the Tourn, often has live music and other events. If you live in the area, especially within in Hearthstone or surrounding neighborhoods, Hearthstone Country Club is a great place for activities with family and friends.

A private country club belong to the Club Corp group, 3 9's with a very interesting layout and fantastic greens. This is a very strange course, a lot of short par 4 and 5's but pretty long par 3's in comparison. The layout is very interesting and should take a while for someone to get used to it, but the greens demands good read and speed control. Over all this is a older style course that is straight forward, but not easy.

As members of Houston club Young Executives, we would often come to Hearthstone Country Club to get in some rounds of golf. It is a private club, that allows members to bring in guests. They have 3 different 9 hole courses you can choose from for a total of 27 holes. The courses are named Horsepen, Jackrabbit, and Wolf Corner. They are meant to be played in the following order. Horsepen to Jackrabbit Jackrabbit to Wolf Corner Wolf Corner to Horsepen But depending on how crowded the course is that day, they may advise you otherwise. This is a very laid back club, with very friendly employees. I would say that most of the people that play there are pretty experienced. If you are new to Young executives golf, I suggest you try the Wolf Corner and Horsepen courses first. There are many sand bunkers on all three courses, but those two seem the easiest. The Jackrabbit course had tighter fairways and a bit more hazards in my opinion. What I liked most about this place was their large outdoor gazebo that had a full sized bar, TVs, and lots of seating. Perfect place to grab a bite or a drink. With the variety of courses to choose from, I feel that Hearthstone is a great place to try if you are a member of Young executives or has a friend who is a member.

This review is about the tennis program not the golf course or etc. The new tennis director, JR, has done a terrific job of making the classes, events such as the Christmas tennis social and kids tennis camp positive experiences. I highly recommend contacting JR if you or your child are interested in tennis. He will help make your experience fun and positive.

Most of Club Corps Houston clubs are about the same as is this location. I am not sure when it was built but the houses around the course have a very 70s feel. It had rained a lot when we went to play which nothing ca be not about, but the drainage could have been designed a little better. Folk who worked at Hearthstone were pretty nice. The amenities like ice and other things seemed off the day we were there, but they were reopening their clubhouse the next day.The course was pretty crowded for a Friday as their was a lot of congestion by 10:00 AM when we started. Not to much water which I like as my balls drawn to water.

Course was in decent shape, horse pen is the best 9 of the 27 holes that there are to play. My buddy left his keys there and we had to call 3 times and ask about them, they claimed they looked for them but when we arrived we found them in our cart in less than 5 minutes. Staff is ok but not great, however I do not recommend leaving keys in the cart to begin with.

It's me again. If you want to join a country club where the driving range is occupied on Saturday afternoon by a bunch of teenage boys digging up the turf for hours on end, this is the place for you! The club allows non-employee golf instructors to teach clinics and use our member facilities - the kids do not have to be "member" kids. Club Corp, to the derogation of its facilities and members, collects a fee, but what can you charge that will pay for the damage to the range and general nuisance of having the range filled to the max? (not counting the potential liability if someone is hit by an errant shot) If the kids were paying $8 for a bucket of balls, they would be at a public driving range not at Hearthstone CC. I have been told on many occasions that "we are hitting off the mats today because we have so many members we must preserve the turf." Apparently for a few bucks to accommodate local instructors, the turf can be sacrificed. A "club" experience cannot be maintained when the club experience is diluted by making "member" benefits available to the public at less than cost - do you think other Houston CCs would open up their turf ranges on a busy Saturday to a "clinic?" At least why not week days off mats only?

As a member of Hearthstone Country Club for almost 30 years, I am very proud of the camaraderie we have here AND a big fan of the Tourn along with it's wait staff. It has taken us a while, but we finally have a great bartender. One that is considerate, professional and extremely creative! As for the grill, I know that they have certain hours of operations and the grill can take a while to heat up. The Grill cook has always been helpful and will try to go to extra lengths to make the food as good as it can be, working within limitations. I am sorry that Butch T didn't have a good experience, but I think that sometimes you get what you give in return. PS, I don't know of any private clubs that don't charge a mandatory service charge. You may want to stick with the public munis.

I have mixed feelings about this club which is why it gets only 3 stars. I will say that the golf conditions were incredible. Greens rolled true. Fairways in superb condition. The course was a 4-star. On the other hand they had it packed so damn full. When we got to the second tee box there was a 5-some, that's right a 5-some waiting in front of us. We were waiting. And there was a group behind us waiting. This all happened by the second tee. The Marshall came around about half way through our round and we asked about the 5-somes (yes plural because we noticed it in other groups) and they said they had so many members that if they didn't allow it everyone wouldn't be able to play. By the time we were done and we did not stop at the turn not even for 5 minutes- it was a 4:50 round. That's uncalled for at a private club. Again golf conditions were great but avoid it at all cost on a weekend.
