I'm definitely torn on this stay, but overall I'd give it 3.5-4 stars. Pros: The staff was absolutely amazing--warm, helpful, and really made me feel welcome. The lobby bar had a fun vibe with great drinks, and the location couldn't have been better for a concert at NRG Stadium. I felt safe, had a great view of the stadium from my room, and the beds were very comfortable. The rooftop pool was a nice added touch for those Hot Houston days! Cons: The room itself wasn't as clean as I would've liked; there was quite a bit of hair throughout, which was disappointing. And an odd sewer smell. I also personally prefer a walk-in shower over a tub (though the bathroom was otherwise clean). The on-site food was just okay and definitely overpriced--I ordered pizza and honestly regretted it. Overall: It worked well for what I needed for two nights, but I don't think I'd stay here again unless I was attending another event at NRG. That said, the fantastic staff and easy getaway were much appreciated!

We had a 3 night stay here during the Holidays. Happened to be around the Texans vs Ravens game and we saw a few Ravens fans here as the hotel is just 5 minutes to NRG Park. We had a Double Queen Bed Suite that had a sleeper sofa as well a mini Fridge. Sleeper sofa was comfortable enough. We enjoyed the rooftop pool and deck area. Great view and space. The Fitness room had enough Cardio equipment and weights. Full Breakfast buffet was ok and was quite busy so early is the ticket to beat the crowds. Garage/Self parking is available for $15 per day with in/out 24/7. Staff was friendly and engaged with a fast and seamless check-in. Centrally located, reasonable priced and perfect if you have an event at NRG Stadium.

Co-located with its sister brand Hyatt House, the Hyatt Place Houston Medical Center provides a large sized hotel room with enough space for 3 adults to each sleep in their own bed (one being a sofa bed). We've stayed at a lot of Hyatt Places in the past year, and all of them have very similar layouts. We wanted to try a Hyatt House, but they didn't have any space for the 2 nights we chose (we had to change our plans at a moment's notice because of the problems with Delta airline canceling our original flight). Our bathroom was modern, with one sink and a nice walk-in shower. The AC in the room was working very well, keeping the temperature in the room near 70 degrees even though it was 100 outside. The water pressure was OK in the bathroom. The TV was a newer flat screen with the typical cable channels. The beds were comfortable. Full maid service is provided at checkout, but you can request a change out of towels and linen during your stay. They have complementary breakfast for all guests, and this one was the best I've had at a Hyatt Place. There was plenty of seating, and all the cold and hot choices were well stocked, along with plenty of beverages. One could definitely fill up for the day here if you like breakfast foods. I didn't get a chance to use their workout facility or pool, but was able to view the outdoor pool from our room via our big window. There is free shuttle service to nearby businesses within a 2 mile radius, including the Houston Zoo and Science museum. Unfortunately the nearest light rail stop is more than half a mile away, but the bus taking you to the nearby transit center (where you can catch a train to downtown) has a stop right outside the entrance to the hotel.

The Hyatt Place Houston Medical Center is a fantastic property. Really top notch stay. Rooms: + Very nice condition. AC worked great. Absolutely comfortable stay. Service: + Superstar service by everyone, from the front desk to the cleaning team. Food: + I only made use of their breakfast buffet, which was several notches better than what I am used to. I typically stay at Marriott's because my Titanium status allows me to get access to their lounges and get free breakfast. The free breakfast at this property was better than the lounge/restaurant breakfasts at the past 3 Marriotts I have stayed at. When traveling back to the Medical Center area, absolutely consider this property in your search.

This is a beautiful, recently remodeled Hyatt Place about 5 minutes from the Medical Center. The check in process was quick and the staff was very friendly. Room was squeaky clean and the king bed was comfortable. My room on the 14th floor has a great view of the Houston downtown. I loved the modern fixtures and bright lightning in the bathroom. Everything looked very shiny and new. The breakfast was ok, fried potatoes and French toast were cold and chewy (almost stale) and the coffee was too acidic so I decided to skip it altogether.

Nice hotel but had problems with the hot water. Had to call maintenance twice within the same hour to try to resolve the issue. Also, had to wait almost an hour for a luggage cart bc the hotel decides not to take ppl i.d's when they use the cart which is unprofessional bc some ppl can be inconsiderate.

The Hyatt Place Houston Medical Center is the newly remodeled hotel that sits in the heart of Houston's Medical Center district. Formerly a Hyatt House that focused on extended stays, the new Hyatt Place provides a more traditional, uniform stay for business and leisure travelers. It also has a very nice breakfast. My Overall Rating - 4 Stars Atmosphere - They Hyatt Place has recently been remodeled, so the entire hotel feels new. The hotel check in is simple, and the entire first floor is dedicated for breakfast. In the morning it's very busy, full of energy from the guests who are getting breakfast. Otherwise, it's a pretty quiet stay. 1 Star. Service - The staff is very nice. The front desk is staffed 24x7 and were able to address all our needs (general questions). Housekeeping is optional, so if you want your room clean you must request it the day before. The staff at the pool bar was also nice and helpful. 1 Star. Facility - All rooms are the same. There is an area for one king or two queen beds + a sofa bed. A family of 4 sleeps comfortably. The bathroom has a walk in shower in lieu or a tub, and the sink is brand new. It's not quite upscale, but it's a spacious, contemporary bathroom. There's also a flat screen TV and fridge, so all the amenities are there. There's also a very nice pool on the 7th floor along with an outdoor bar and tons of lounge seating. This is not a resort, so you'll need to bring towels or use the bath towels from your room. The fitness center overlooks the pool and has plenty of equipment. But the best feature of the hotel is the breakfast that's included. There are hot and cold options, fresh fruit, and different varieties. It gets very busy from 8 - 9, so plan accordingly. 1 Star. Will I Return? - Yes. The Hyatt Place Houston Medical Center is by no means a vacation destination; however, if you're looking to stay in the Medical Center district (also near NRG Stadium), it's a great option. 1 Star.

This hotel has been without running water for most of our 2-night stay. Cannot flush a toilet, take a shower. The kitchen is without running water, yet still open and serving food both mornings (Dec 7 and Dec 8 2024). According to other long-term guests, this has happened frequently for the last 10 weeks. The front desk has no information on anything. Keeps trying to convince guests this is a "new" problem.

I just checked out of room 815 after staying at The Hyatt for New Years weekend. I usually don't leave reviews about hotels since there is nothing ever over the top to talk about, but the staff here deserves this review. Savion , Justin and Sam were one of the highlights of our trip. Not only were they attentive, but they made our stay more enjoyable than we had intended it to be. We spent most of our time at the bar and even ended up staying downstairs and rung in the new year with them. Only thing I will say is for the bar manager to keep a better tab on their alcohol stock. We would've spent more money at the bar if they didn't keep running out of the beers/ drinks we wanted. I also felt bad for Savion since the more people spend at the bar, the more money he makes in tips. Doesn't seem very fair to Savion or the guests.
