We used to stay here a lot when we visit Houston due to it's convenient location. However, the past few times, our experiences have declined. Some rooms are old to where there are cracks within the room. Ripped bedding, peeling toilet seat, bathroom doors not fully functional, and more. Luckily, we hadn't experienced any pest infections like other reviewers. We also used to encounter friendly staff members at the counter. But lately, their customer service has declined as well. Plenty of parking provided with what seemed like two security cars on standby in the lot but I've never seen any security present. They do block the Harwin entrance at night. So you'll have to go around to the other side to enter. Located next to a Popeyes and Starbucks across the street. Next to Beltway 8 and Sam Houston Tollway.

Solid hotel for a quick stay in Houston. We stayed at this La Quinta in Westchase for 2 nights and it was a comfortable 2 nights. The room was relatively clean, average size for a king bed room and included a mounted flat screen TV and small refrigerator. There is a free breakfast offered every morning as well (6-9am on weekdays and 7-10am on weekends). I wish I could say that the free breakfast was the best part about the stay, but the breakfast was actually slim pickings compared to other free hotel breakfasts we have tried in the past. Yes, there were eggs, bacon and sausage, but it was blah and all stuffed into 1 chafing dish. None of it was very appetizing. There was also cereal, warm oatmeal, grits and a waffle maker too. It might not be the worst free hotel breakfast we have had, but it was near the bottom. The employees at the counter were nice during our stay, but there was one employee that I encountered at the breakfast that had a nasty attitude towards guests. Like I said, it's a solid, inexpensive hotel to stay at, but don't expect anything more for the price point.

I was pleasantly surprised by my stay at this La Quinta, which was nicely decorated and very clean throughout. The room size is generous with a great looking bed and carpet -- and a nice desk for doing work. The best part about staying at this hotel was the breakfast, with a surprisingly complete option of different waffles, yogurts, fruit, coffee, cereal, pastry etc. Though I did not use any of the fitness or pool facilities, this appeared to be maintained well also.

If all La Quinta Inns were so good, I'd certainly privy myself on being a loyal customer. This Westchase location was decided initially based on price alone ($100 a night) but the unexpected amenities, hotel staff service, and extremely awesome room quickly made me think I got more than I bargained for ... in the way possible. My King Bed with a sofa bed was spacious, clean, and extremely comfortable. The bed was a little stiff, but I got used to it quickly. The TV they had in my room was large and new, so it was a little easy to get sucked in on the wide array of channels that they had. I really appreciated my separate desk for work use, which was super handy being that it wasn't too far from the bed. The living room like area where the sofa bed was reminded me of a budget hotel version of the Venetian's standard King room layout. It's suite-like for sure and certainly very spacious for a room full of guests. The bathroom was also large and spacious and the water pressure was just right. This hotel's version of a free breakfast was a little nicer than most other "continental" ones that I've seen. While they had the standard cereals, muffins, and coffee selection, they also had hot food like waffles, scrambled eggs, various meats (ham, sausage, bacon, etc,) with oatmeal, grits, and a very Texan corn flour tortillas. I don't like having to harp on the fitness center for being a bit claustrophobic and only having a handful of machines, but I wish it didn't close at 10pm. A big boo to not having any free weights or towels available in the room. The parking wasn't too tough, but obviously got a little tougher in the middle of the night. This location still feels far away from a lot of things in Houston, but Chinatown/Viet-town is really only a couple of miles away. This hotel also has a shuttle for folks to utilize, but I would still recommend bringing one's own car to get around.

This very well may be THE BEST La Quinta I have stayed at to date. Beautifully renovated, and immaculate inside. The high ceiling really made the space feel open and spacious. Bed was super comfy, and they offer Direct TV in the room which was very nice. Breakfast consists of waffles, eggs, bacon, sausage, cereal, fruit, and muffins. Nothing amazing, yet satisfying. Free parking. Friendly, accommodating staff. Pet Friendly!!! Up to two pets per room. Business center - computer with printer. Safe and convenient location, a little bit of a busy street. Highly recommend this La Quinta. Trust me, you will pleasantly surprised!

CLERK refused to honor my reservation. She kept trying to charge me when I had prepaid. I explained I should be charged an incidental charged on my card but I shouldn't have to pay again for my room. She demanded to see my "receipt" which I showed her my confirmation as well As the charge. She still refused. She said she wanted to SEE MY CREDIT CARD INFO WHERE I WAS CHARGED. I was exhausted and in town for an early doctor appointment and tests so I showed her where my card had been charged. She THEN REFUSED AND SAID I HAD TO CALL MY BOOKING COMPANY. I asked if she could Since my phone was about to die, she just stared at me For a long time without answering. I called the company, put them On speaker. When the representative said she would call and take care of it for me (I am a platinum VIP) I travel Extensively and use this service A LOT! She called the hotel spoke to the hotel Clerk who refused to still give me a room BecAhe she didn't see the hotel had been "paid." The rep then told me To call a manager, The clerk gave me a card With the supervisor information - I called she started laughing and answered the Other line while She was in front of me. She then went to a back room Which concerned My mother since we had my minor Children (exhausted and needing a bed) she came back k and started laughing at and recordIng MY DISABLED SON. We left as I was telling my booking agent what was happening. The booking company sent a "refund" request to the hotel that HAD SPENT 30 Minutes saying I didn't ever pay who REFUSED TO REFUND THE "non existent" payment they had already received. I have sent an email to the general manager. If I don't get an apology and assurance that the recording of my 11 yr old disabled child hadn't been completely deleted I WILL BE SUING THIS HOTEL. Do NOT RESERVE A ROOM HERE, either the clerk is trying to scam from the hotel by Double charging or she is a racist or she simply doesn't feel Like she should have to provide ANY service to customers at all. I have asked for the general manager to contact me immediately hopefully they will address this but as of now, I've been lied to, Told I wasn't charged then DENIED a cancellation after I was refused a room

This was a horrible experience. When I was searching for a room to stay I was enticed by the pool that was advertised. Upon arrival the pool water was green and closed. So that started the bad experience and then going to my room that I paid full price for was filthy. The beds were not made and had human hair on the pillow and blankets. There were towels on the bathroom floor and the room and hallways smelled like a wet dog. When I brought it to the managers attention he didn't apologize or offer any type of compensation. He sent house keeping that came 45 mins later and all they did was change the sheets and tried to reuse the same comforters until I asked them to change them as well and they gave such an attitude by me asking that. I am still staying here because I have already paid for the room. I suggest no one stay here unless you like horrible customer service and unneeded stress.

Do not stay here if you have young children and need a bathtub for them and quiet nights to keep them asleep! This hotel has gone drastically downhill from my previous stay 2 years ago. As evidenced by my photos, the rooms are not well maintained at all and look as though they've hosted some ragers. Walls and doors are extremely thin, so you will hear any and all conversations from neighbors. The only rooms equipped with a bathtub are the handicap accessible ones, which are hard to come by. There is only one elevator that services the 3 floors and it's slow and rickety. Points of entry are limited to just the front entrance which makes it less convenient to load and unload your kids and heavy things from the parking lot. The reason why I'm giving a second star is for the front desk staff, which were professional and tried their best to be accommodating with the limited resources they have. I will not be staying here again. There are other hotel options down the street if you need to stay in this area.
