A very cool experience! I'm from the Dallas area and went to the real unreal. I took a Houston trip and saw there was another meow wolf location Just a note - there is parking but you have to pay (not too much though, maybe a few dollars and hour) It was very cool to compare and contrast my experiences. Every location has a different theme. This one (radio tave) is about a radio group who works together and you're trying to piece together what happened In both Dallas and Houston, the concept is the same. Everything is normal at first. But as you continue to explore, you discover things are not what you think they are I personally like the real unreal more, but this one was still very nice. It felt a little smaller, but not sure the actual size. Maybe the perception is different Logistically, this place did a better job letting people in. In Dallas, we were in line but went in rather quickly but inside was too crowded. Here in Houston, we would wait until our time was called (I think 20 minute increments?). I believe that pacing made it much less crowded and more enjoyable to explore Allow 2 hours minimum to just explore everything, another 2 to explore the lore. You don't need to understand the lore, but for someone who wants to understand what's going on, I highly recommend staying longer. I wish I had more time because I'm into it. I stayed about 3 ish hours Also remember: this is art first and foremost. The interactive part is second. A bunch of artists have come together to create something really cool. And who knows - maybe you'll find your own "radio tave". And like the real unreal, it's up to you to figure out what that means

If you've ever wanted to know what it feels like to explore other worlds and have your sense of reality questioned at every turn, this is probably as close as you will get on this planet. I visited Meow Wolf Houston - Radio Tave with some friends. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience and spent around 2 hours exploring all the rooms. If we wanted to do everything very thoroughly, we probably could've spent more time. For me, I felt like while it was fun, I felt like after I walked through everything a few times, I was pretty done and probably wouldn't go out of my way to visit again. Definitely worth visiting at least once though especially if you're looking for a fun indoor activity or a date night idea! There is a parking lot, but it is unfortunately paid.

Why 4 stars? Because I was equally blown away as much as I was overwhelmed. --- --- --- I have wanted to check out Meow Wolf for a while. We took our son to the Color Factory a few months back and he seemed to enjoy it, so we thought it would be a fun family outing. As it turns out, our son liked Meow Wolf even more -- and it was quite a different experience from Color Factory. There are not enough stars to be given out for the creativity aspect of what went into concocting Meow Wolf. Imagine basically just taking discarded junk from 100 Goodwill stores and turning it into a 20,000 square foot museum that all somehow perfectly makes sense. I have no idea how anyone has the artistic capability of doing this and truly am blown away at what the human mind if capable of. Walking through Meow Wolf did something to me on a sensory level that I guess I would just describe as making me feel uneasy, anxious... even exhausted. After maybe an hour or so, I had really hit a wall and was getting really antsy to leave. It's not that I didn't enjoy it or wasn't impressed, it's just that stimulation overload took effect and my mind tapped out. I think the lack of order must have thrown me off or something. It's impossible to keep track of what rooms you have and have not been in, because each room seemingly has at least a couple entrances and exits. We wanted to see it all, but couldn't even remember which way was up, after a while. So don't get me wrong: it was money well spent and I'm glad we went. But I could only handle so much before my neurons were begging me to just go outside to boring, regular life. I have never felt that way in my whole life, so kudos to the creators of this for activating a feeling I had never felt in 41 years.

Came to Meow Wolf not knowing what to expect and it ended up being such a fun time. They truly have created a place that you are full immersed into. They have so many different rooms you can explore. There were so many ways to go through it all I didn't want to miss anything! You can touch everything which is normally the opposite of an art museum. Make sure to open all the different cabinets and move things around as we found some pretty cool things by doing this. You really do feel like you have entered into a whole different world when you are inside. This was a perfect rainy day activity! There is parking but you do have to pay $5 an hour.

Meow Wolf Houston started off confusing because you don't know if people are acting out a scene or a visitor like you. The interactive features are so good. And they are so many of them. Countless things to discover. I probably need to visit two more times. It's a space where you can let your imagination go. The black and brown futurism found throughout the space is spectacular. My favorite room I called the ancestor room was a visual and emotional experience. "The Silence between Spaces" by Cosmica Siren. I had staff help me find who the artist was. They did the whole room free hand. No plan. Just a scaffold and a paintbrush. This is just one room out of 50? You can't count them. You just open doors and enter different portals. I will be back. I can't wait.

Really fun time at Meow Wolf Houston. I was hoping to that it was a little less busy during the week but with a place this cool, it will attract flocks. It was hard to decide which way to go at first bc it really is a maze. But with each new room there was something to catch your eye, tinker or interact with. You can really spend hours in here. You can even dine in here with your choice of a seated dining experience or cafe in the middle of Radio Tave. If you download the app and complete the "scavenger hunt" - which is finding 19 of the many rooms and show proof at the end, you get a little sprout clip souvenir. A little anticlimactic but fun to see all the rooms no less.

I have been to the Omega Mart Meow Wolf in Vegas and was super excited that they opened one near my home in Houston! This one was super cool tool with a completely different concept. I love the alternate universe aspect and the woodsy/retro/last of us/artsy vibe of the place. There is loads to see and so many tiny details you could miss, so it can be overwhelming. However, since there's so much, there are hours and multiple sessions you could spend in there. I love being able to open so many secret passage ways, look in nook and crannies and interact with so much of it. There are even handwritten books to read and normal to abnormal instruments to play. This place is huge and feels even larger from its setup. It's easy to get lost in here so keep that in mind, but there are attendants around. There's also a story/investigation you can follow and complete, but we opted not to and just explore. We did a few of the different "quests" that were part of the investigation and they were fun and stimulating.

I love that this Meow Wolf keeps it trill to Houston and the culture of the city. There was plenty of homage paid to Dj Skrew and the Rockets. I even saw Lil Flip in one of the rooms. I'm a big fan of Alice in Wonderland so these sorts of trippy installations are right up my alley. I loved the mind bending creativity of all the rooms and the very best part for me was seeing black women displayed in the artwork in just about every room. The representation made me feel warm, fuzzy, and like I definitely belonged there. Often times minorities are thrown into something to check a diversity or inclusion box or we're excluded altogether but while smaller in numbers we are everywhere and we deserve to take up all of our space wherever we are. Particularly with Meow Wolf being located in historically black 5th ward, it was right on target for the art installation to be so in sync with the demographic of the area in which it's located. There wasn't one room that disappointed me. I went with my niece. She has been to all the Meow Wolfs except the one in Denver and she ranks the Houston one 2nd place right after Vegas. I look forward to trying out an adult night at Meow Wolf. Seems like it would be a good time.

It's a really neat exhibit. There were so many things to see and the different colors and room were really cool. They have a bar in the back and a fun photobooth that was $6.50. There is a gift shop as well. There is an app/game that you can play while there. One thing I absolutely irked me was that online it says "good for all ages". I brought my almost 3 month old because I really wanted to tag along with my family. I don't think it's infant friendly, personally. The nursing station is a bathroom. They had one outside and one inside (both bathrooms, not actual nursing rooms). There was no signage or directions on where the nursing areas were either. You also can't take strollers, so if you can't carry your baby around the exhibit I wouldn't bother. Also some areas got absolutely packed (the bar is tiny) . It felt a little overwhelming sometimes. It sometimes felt like they had too many people in there and it seemed like a hazard at some points and that they were over capacity. Also take your own hand sanitizer or sanitizing wipes. Parking you'll pay when you leave. The machine to pay for parking when I arrived was broken. Ultimately, I think it's overpriced and would not do again.

Back into the world of meow wolf, I am hooked. I decided to try out the adult verse 21 and up night and it did not disappoint. They had an awesome DJ playing EDM music and it was like a club. They also had a restaurant in this location which was super unique. The food itself definitely was what I would have expected coming from the masterminds of this type of place. It was definitely hard but fun to try to locate the restaurant and the center of all the action. Looking forward to going back soon.
