I got the special of the day which was the porchetta sandwich. It's pork loin wrapped in pork belly with chimichurri. The sandwich itself was super greasy, but it was perfect for my happy hour munchies. I also got a side of fries which were beautifully crispy and salted. The wait time was really short and the staff was really polite. I was able to try these guys out at SkyHouse apartments which hosts food trucks every week. Great food truck, definitely recommend.

I tried OffBeat Eatz for the first time at a food truck festival at the Asia Society Texas Center. The menu mostly consists of burgers, but they also have chicken tenders and fries, a sausage sandwich, pizza, and a couple of other items. What's weird is that I didn't see pizza listed on the menu but someone ahead of me had ordered it. After living in North Carolina for 4 years, I could help but get the Southern Pride Burger ($13). The burger comes with lettuce, a fried egg, pimento cheese, bacon, and house-made watermelon rinds. Here's the good. A generous amount of bacon, a fresh bun, a meaty burger, and a creative one at that. Areas of improvement: the fried egg wasn't cooked enough. The watermelon rinds gave the burger a lot of sweetness. I liked it but it's not for some. Similarly, if you've never had pimento cheese, I like it but it's not for all either. A really popular cheese in the Carolinas, pimento cheese is really a cheese spread. Don't be expected a slice of melted cheese, pimento is much different than this. I also wish they had asked how I wanted my burger cooked as it was cooked a little too long for my taste. A lot of the other burgers seemed interesting so give OffBeat Eatz a try!

The guy asked me if I liked spicy foods and I replied that I didn't. He recommended the Cheesy Bacon Mushroom Burger so I ordered that with fries. I didn't realize the burger had spices mixed in so I didn't think to ask what they were. I wasn't crazy about it and the bacon wasn't cooked well. The fries were great. I would try their food again but I would definitely ask more questions and I know now what didn't work for me.

My word! Something as simple the Old Faithful brought so much joy. The edges of the bun were so crispy and buttery, thick (but not too thick), soft on the inside. The sheen on the bun forewarned me that this was going to be good. Meat to bun ratio was perfect. The beef patty was hand-patted (is that a word) versus being shaped by some metal ring. The bacon! Not too crispy and not too soggy. I will get extra next time. The red onion was thinly sliced so that it didn't overpower the burger (or my breath.) The fries! Just enough salt and crispy. They were cut thinner than what I saw in the photos, but who cares? I knew they were going to be delicious just by the smell. And they were. They were so familiar. And thank you. Thank you for not using iceberg lettuce. Thank you for placing the tomatoes appropriately so that they didn't soak the bun. And thank you for making this burger so well that I just realized that I devoured it without adding any sauce. Now that's a good meal! TBH, this meal stirred up some memories of a place perhaps a 24 hour greasy spoon diner from my childhood; or a place I had been after a wild night and ended up with the perfect burger and fries to end the night/morning. Either way I can't wait until they come back. The joy that I will experience as I see that truck parked in the lot will be similar to the joy of seeing the Oscar Meyer Weinermobile as a child or the ice cream man on a hot summer day!

After walking out of my apartment this afternoon, I saw this huge purple food truck called Off Beat Eatz parked at the Leasing Office. I was hungry and decided to try their shrimp etouffe...Wow! My meal was absolutely delicious, and wished I could've tried other menu items. If you ever see the purple Off Beat Eatz food truck around town, PLEASE give them a try! The owners are very friendly.

Nothing to brag on giving 3 stars because they actually put together a great bunless burger for me with caramelized onions. Bummed that they didn't have veggie burgers. Fries were burned and also tasteless and such small portion (not a big deal for me but if that's regular portion I'm sure some will be disappointed) Ordered the regular old fashioned burger it had zero flavor, I never have high expectations of food trucks but having a burger from another food truck that visit our office did cause me a greater disappointment with these guys because food trucks weren't my type of hype and this red flavorless piece of beef is a main reason I steer clear of food trucks.

This truck was at Bakfish Brewing and we gave it a shot. AMAZING! Perfectly cooked burgers. Their BBQ sauce is delicious too! My husband had their signature burger and it was perfect. We also ordered their pulled pork fries: WOW! I'm glad we stopped by and had their food. I look forward to seeing them again.

Great food truck! The guy at the window was very nice. Their sweet and spicy chicken appetizer was delicious, and so were the truffle Parmesan fries! The garlic/mayo that went with the fries were also great. Only con was their preparation time. Stood and waited around 20 minutes for a burger, but it was delicious, so not really complaining!
