Awful company with even worse customer service. Couldn't even get ahold of anyone via there official number for days. DO NOT BOOK WITH THEM.

Car was stained up. Didn'Constantly had lights going off. Broken tire pressure gauge. Was difficult to find the Payless counter despite signs being everywhere. The sign is below eyesight behind the Budget counter. I'm short and with people standing at the counter we couldn't find the sign. Instructions say to call when you land for pick up location and transportation but upon calling was told to figure out a way to the car rental terminal.. NOT HELPFUL. Just needed to tell us to take the shuttle.

if I could give no stars. I would. this is a scam. booked my car. flight was delayed. called and confirmed that I was delayed. they are open(supposedly) until 9 pm. got there at 8:51 pm. closed. no one around except the van driver who came back to get me to the airport. if not bad enough, no cars at the other rental companies. but then this scam company charged me the 3 day charge for not picking the car up. had to rent a car in Houston from a reputable company. I sppesled the charge. priceless said I had to appeal with economy bookings. economy bookings denied the appeal. fortunately the credit card. company helped get it to 1 day pay. I learned my lesson, these discount companies are scams, they bait and switch on cars, insurance requirements and just close. paying more at hertz and avis but so much better with no stress and a little more cost.

This company has been holding our money for three days now and moving on the fourth day ! This is very sad ! Cars always smelling like feet and smoke ! Then they be wanting to charge you all that money !

Staff to volume! Reservations for memorial weekend are certainly higher than normal but there were only 3 people working. They line was over 100 customers with more being added every time the shuttle came. I couldn't wait for over 2 hours as I had time sensitive plans. I had to get an Uber and reorganize my entire trip .

Good Customer service at the desk. The rental is not located in the airport but they shuttle you to a building where it is. They get your stuff ready and they give you a form to take to another structure were your car will be and you grab the car keys inside when you're on your way. The only thing about Payless car is that your spouse is NOT added FREE like most car rentals. You HAVE TO pay a additional fee to add a second driver!

Terrible service, and the cars are poorly cleaned, the whole safety seat panel was missing, exposing all the wires. The car was dented and there were scratches all over it. The car keys is missing the back piece. The gas tank was practically empty. When I brought it up to the employees, Jackie E. is the worst staff member there-- she merely brushed me off and gave a very unprofessional and bad attitude. Do not rent from here.

Then the front desk agent says that we need to buy the toll package of $12 a day because a lot of the tolls in TX you cannot pay cash. We opted not to purchase the package and we set our GPS to avoid tolls which was only 10 minutes longer. We did not drive through any tolls. Then once we get the statement, they charged us for tolls! We called and and kept getting transferred to different people who ended up telling us they could not do anything and it is what it is. Never using Payless Car Rental again!

PLEASE READ! This is the worst car rental service I have ever used. I booked thru Expedia and they gave me a price of 319 for 2 weeks use of small Nissan car. I arrive and am put into the dirtiest, worst, base- level Nissan car there is. There was old Mexican food inside, crumbs, dog hair, dirty windows, and it smelled horrible. I had been flying over 30 hrs and just drove off, thinking I would trade it in later. Flash forward to returning the car.. I sign one bill (that is different than what Expedia quoted me) and leave. I check my CC statement the next day and realise they have added over 500 USD worth of extra, FRAUDULENT charges to my card- one charge for 250 USD cleaning fee! The BBB and news stations have issued a consumer warning to people about renting from this shady business. I wish I would have known before. Please go with another company- one more reputable! Save yourself the hassle and extra charges.

Great experience. First time flying to Houston and using this brand for a car rental. I was skeptical when I saw the reviews but they were great. The lady at the front desk was very friendly and took care of us. The car we rented was clean and great for our trip. Paperwork was done quickly and efficiently. I would definitely use this company in the future.
