I have been taking fifth and sixth graders to Colonial Williamsburg, Jamestown, and Washington D.C. for the last twenty years, and School Tours of America has always done a phenomenal job! I can count on Kimberly planning every step of the way to make the trip an enjoyable learning experience for everyone. I open up the trip for both students and parents. We begin our trip by staying at The Great Wolf Lodge in Williamsburg. The kids are in awe when walking through Colonial Williamsburg and Jamestown and seeing history alive right before their eyes! Having security guards in the hotel throughout the night just for my group lets me know my kids are safe. The bus drivers have always been friendly and knowledgeable and really helped bring more meaning into what the kids were experiencing. Washington D.C. has always been a remarkable place to visit. Our group gets to see everything from the memorials, Smithsonian Museums, the Capitol, the White House, Twilight Tattoo, Mount Vernon to name a few. The kids even get to eat at Medieval Times on our fourth night which helps culminate a long week of fun and learning. Our hotel reps, including my special friend, Pat, go above and beyond in making checking in and out of our hotel as seamless as possible. Thank you School Tours of America for making our trip so special! I'm so excited to try Boston next summer and enjoy three glorious nights with my group! If you are looking for a tour company to use to take your students on a trip, don't hesitate to call School Tours of America! You won't regret it! I am a mom of two girls who traveled with School Tours of America on a trip to Washington DC 2 years apart from each other. I thought they will improve, but... Unfortunately, it is all the same approach when it comes to trip organization. Very late/last of the day cheaper flights with distant airports are reserved (which of course get delayed), far from hotel, poor quality hotels with bugs (my daughter could not sleep as she found bugs on her bed), and same/poor dining (like Golden Corral) is included. All details are communicated to parents only 2 weeks before the trip itself, when kids are already excited to go, while payments start about 8-9 months earlier. On top of this, kids are urged to miss school the next day, and at the same time formally the school is not involved. While the trip is educational, it is very tiring with 7 am to 11 pm busy schedules every day.

The people who work at this company are not the brightest. My son and his 8th grade class of 200 kids departed for a trip to DC yesterday. They booked them on a 7 pm out of OHare. Anyone who knows anything about Ohare knows that a 7 pm out of Ohare will be delayed at least by some amount of time. They made them get to the airport at 3:30 pm for the 7 pm flight. The flight did not take off until 10:30 pm. My son texted me that he over the course of the 7 hours, he binged on mcflurries and frapaccinos. They arrived in DC at midnight and got to their hotel around 2 am. This company should not be handling travel itineraries for anyone but especially not for 13 yr olds.

Amazing company with the kindest, most hardworking staff out there. Our school felt taken care of and valued the entire trip. The itinerary was jammed packed with experiences the students will never forget. There was continued support throughout the planning process and trip. I lead a group of students to Washington D.C. every spring. This year we had 51 students traveling. STA is a WONDERFUL company to work with. They make sure all of the details are taken care of. The people that are at the hotel and airport waiting for our group to arrive are very knowledgeable. If you are thinking about leading a group, please consider School Tours of America!

DO NOT EVER BOOK WITH THEM!! I had to cancel 1 MONTH AFTER I registered and A YEAR AND A HALF BEFORE the actual trip due to work and they kept $506.00!!!! They were not willing to work with me AT ALL!!!!

Looking to make profit no matter what. Will keep your money with some excuse as to why they can. It's horribly overpriced to begin with, but for some reason the school chose this company to go with. I've used other companies for travel before and they were far more reasonable in pricing. I will be taking my child on our own trip for a third of the cost and I can go with her instead of paying another 2K to go along. Avoid this company - there are others that are better with better customer service.

Opportunistic money grab when canceling. My son's class trip is being managed by School Tours of America. Since my school district suggested them, I didn't think twice about the "fine print" when I paid $508 for the trip in October 2022. The trip is scheduled to happen May 2023, over three months from now. Our plans changed and we had to pull him out of the trip. The class sponsor told me that there was a sizable waiting list for kids to be able to join the trip so another kid will get signed up as soon as my son's spot becomes available. I cancelled with SToA phone support. I learned that they are keeping $89 of the $508 - it's not refundable. I apparently didn't read the fine print. Customer service stayed the story line: Sorry, but terms and conditions etc.... They would have taken a lot more of my money but apparently I paid $89 for "trip protection" at the time of purchasing the trip. This "protected" me from them taking 1/4 or more of the price I paid. It's not as much about the $89 as much as it is I feel cheated and like I've been duped. I could see them pulling this if I cancelled a week before the trip, not three months with a ready list of kids to fill the spot. This feels like an opportunistic money grab, a kind of "gotcha" for not reading the fine print. I'm going to suggest that my kids school district not work with this company in the future.
