This was our first time visiting Houston with our family. We recently stayed at SpringHill Suites Houston Hobby Airport. As a Marriott Bonvoy member, I used points to reserve one night. The hotel provided a simple complimentary breakfast. The only issue was the heating and cooling system in our room. We set the AC to 73 degrees. My wife turned it off, but it didn't actually shut off until several minutes later, which sometimes caused noise and disrupted our sleep. Despite this, the hotel was clean and well-maintained. Overall, it was a good stay, but this issue definitely needs to be addressed.

I have over 170 nights this year - and over 150 with Marriott. Hands down worst hotel of 2025. TV is at least 15 years old. Air conditioning is very loud and mechanical sounding. Pillows were terrible. Linen was scratchy. Nobody at.front desk where I arrived. Waiting 5 minutes. Overall poor

The airport shuttle pickup was pretty quick. Be sure to go to Zone 3, Pickup area 14 then call the hotel for pickup. There is no need to call before then. The guy driver was really great! They run 24/7, you just have to call them when you arrive at the pickup spot. We arrived at the hotel late night and it was a quick check-in. The front desk person was fairly friendly, nothing to really rave about. He failed to tell us that you need to sign up with the front desk if you need the airport shuttle in the morning. When we checked-out, the front desk person communicated this info when we requested the airport shuttle. Luckily, the female driver wasn't too far. The driver was on her phone when she picked us up from the hotel and didn't help us with our luggage on the pickup or drop off. The shuttle driver service is like night and day, literally! The room was pretty clean. The bed was comfortable. I found a few black hairs on the towels, which is a huge pet peeve of mine. No signs of bed bugs, so that was good. They have a market in the lobby for beverages, beer, snacks, and toiletries. This is an easy affordable overnight option if you want to be close to the airport. The free shuttle is a perk, I noticed not many hotels in the vicinity have a 24/7 airport shuttle. They have a free breakfast, but I did not partake in the food.

It has taken me a week to start to recover from my stay at the SpringHill Suites in Houston near Hobby airport. I am still not at 100%. Upon arrival I walked into the lobby and was greeted by a tremendous chemical cleaning odor. Someone had a mop and bucket in the lobby. The smell was so toxic I still have a headache, fatigue, watery eyes, and can smell it in my nostrils today! I immediately ran out to vomit. My colleague had to complete our check in. I put on two masks to make it to our room. The appearance of the room looked as expected of the brand with a great size, desk, mini fridge and microwave. For that I give two stars for brand consistency. The stars taken off is for the toxic chemical smell from the cleaning process that was present during the entire stay. I could not exit my room without having two masks. I could not enjoy the free breakfast because of the lobby odor of what smelted like combination of bleach and Fabuloso cleaner. A star was taken off the long black hair present on one of the bath towels. My hair has locs and my colleague has short curly hair so it definitely wasn't ours. Another star was taken off because of mold smell coming from the air conditioner and the bugs in the bed discovered the last night of our stay. I was extremely disappointed in this Marriott property and cannot recommend anyone stay there unless EVERYWHERE else is booked... well even then I think I would spend the night on airport chairs or in a rental car because this was too toxic. Do better Marriott!

I arrived in Houston on Monday to attend the National Baptist Convention that met this week. I am thoroughly elated that I selected this "home away from home" for my rest and recline. My suite was perfectly suited with the necessary accoutrements. The breakfast bar is sufficiently stocked and the choices for my first meal of the day were scrumptious. An added pleasure was the first class staff whose hospitality was second to none. If I am ever back in Houston, this will be my home. Thank you so much for making my stay memorable.

Overall, this is not to the Marriott Hotel's standard. I appreciated the shuttle service proved and the female driver. Thats the only positive of this place. The woman at front desk (I believe Joslyn) needs training on friendliness and customer service. I was provided a list of places to eat in the area and asked "which of these do you recommend", which she rolled her eyes and said "I don't eat around here". The computers/printer in business center were not working. I reported to front desk and was told its only the printer. However, it was everything. Another person staying there said it hasn't worked for a week. When I left it was still out. TV remote needed batteries, which they provided me to replace. Lastly, don't ask for peanut butter at breakfast. Lets hope they raise the bar here.

-1 Star for the very unfriendly, non-smiling, dismissive older lady at the front desk working at night (11 pm 2/20/19). Never greeted us. We had to say hello to get her attention even tho she clearly saw us. Asked for a late checkout and she seemed very angry that we would even suggest it. At first told us we would have to call back and ask in the morning then she said 1pm was "the best she could do". Never made eye contact and when I tell you her tone was like dry ice, I mean it was so bad I think I actually caught a cold!! Plus she never even put anything in the system and just walked away so ( and of course without uttering a single word. No have a good night F U... nothing) I will still have to call down in the morning and ask again. Huge waste of time... definitely not what I have come to expect from ANY Marriott... We stayed almost a week due to my husband working in town. The day staff is friendly and upbeat. Pretty much willing to help with anything. They always greeted us no matter how many times we walked in and out of the hotel. The breakfast was pretty stinking good. They had tons of stuff. Lots of pastries and breads (not in my pic) were available. The fruit was super fresh. The oatmeal was perfect every morning. Usually hard to find good oatmeal. The breakfast lady was the best!! Super cheerful!! We did not visit the bar, altho we did speak briefly with the young lady working and she was just as friendly. In all honesty I expect perfection from any Marriott so I can't say that I would want to come back to this location. But if we had to it wouldn't be the worst that's ever happened.

Absolute horrible choice of hotel for a stay. It resides in a very rundown looking part of town. Doesn't seem to be safe to be outside. Hotel staff doesn't take care of any issues. Booked a room for 4 people. Couldn't get enough blankets for all 4 people. Was told for 2 days that they would bring us a blanket only to be told that all blankets were dirty and house keeping hadn't washed any. Price wasn't bad but you literally get what you pay for. Management acted like they couldn't care less and even suggested to turn AC off in room and get it hot enough to not need a blanket. Would not go back and give them any business.

Most unclean hotel I have ever stayed in. HORRIBLE SERVICE!!! I had to use dirty towels for 3 days. Front desk consistently told me towels were being cleaned. Phone did not work!! I was told maintenance were trying to repair! This hotel sucks!
