Standard in the place where you live Now face north Think about direction, wonder why you haven't before Now Standard in the place where you work Now face west, think about the place where you live Wonder why you haven't before Speaking of working at the Standard, the Bottle Girls here are stunning and spectacular. Two of them are good friends with Barbi (and I guess friends with me by association). The Standard is the wildest and most real Houston/Tejano party spot on Washington or anywhere. It's moved now to Dallas St next to Downtown, and this spot (5306) which is located at 5306 Washington, is exactly as we remember it, even with most of the same employees. This is the number one Latin bar in Houston as far as I'm concerned, and it's the kind of nightclub where everything is amazing and there's a lot of fun to be had. The party goes on late, and it gets unfairly victimized by a lot of the other clubs, such as during covid when a lot of the clubs around here were breaking protocols, most were ignored and allowed to do it, and of course this is the one that the police targeted. The Standard has now moved, and the one on Washington is called 5306 (very imaginative lol, it's the address), but it still contains the same spirit. The Standard is now next to downtown and keeps the amazing nightclub legend alive. Not to be confused with Standard Liege (a Belgian soccer team), or Standard Chartered (the sponsor of my fave soccer team).

It is the worst place on the planet. It victimizes people and overcharges (multiple accounts of this), plays horrible music covered with loud sirens, has an annoying dj with the most annoying voice who shouts over everything, causes numerous fights to break out almost every week, condones drag racing at the close of the club, has no respect for the police or the citizens or it's patrons quite frankly, and is a constant nuisance even when there are only two patrons inside and to the other clubs around. Changing the club's name doesn't allow you to hide for long. You're still the same self centered establishment preying on everything around you. I wouldn't be caught dead here!
