I've done about 4-5 escape rooms, and this one was the most immersive I recommend giving yourself 10-15 minutes to find the place. Finding it was kind of like a mini-escape room in itself! You go through an entrance that kind of looks like a hotel building ish. You'll still be outside and inside an elevator Theme: you'll figure out what happened to houdini. And right from the get go (when you do find the actual place), it feels incredibly immersive In terms of difficulty, this one one of the more easier ones. I went with 3 other people who have never done an escape room before, and we all succeeded. Some challenging puzzles but nothing you can't figure out with some trial and error This feels a little more on the pricier side ($64/person), but you semi-interact with the "staff" (where most escape rooms they leave you alone). But all in all, probably the most unique one I've done!

Strange Bird is located in a small suite inside of a large office complex so directions are definitely needed to find your way. Once there, the escape room is a wonderful way to spend a hot summer afternoon in the cool a/c and out of the Houston heat! There's a clean and bright minimalistic waiting area with clever quirky riddles, bird pics and signs on the walls. (Sidenote: the bathroom is a time portal so be careful). When the escape room event begins Madame Daphne comes out to greet your group and leads you to her tarot reading room where she does readings for about 2 people after handing each person a liability waiver that's kept in their own personalized box, each disguised as a book she pulls from her bookshelf. You crumble your waiver up and throw it in the birdcage with her co-worker Sir Walter, who is in charge of the forms. Each person puts their belongings away for safekeeping in Madame Daphne's wardrobe. It's recommended to put your cellphone away but you are allowed to keep it in case you feel you might need your flashlight. That is the only reason you are to use your cell phone once inside. When everyone's items are stored away and after going over the rules, Madame Daphne leads you into her seance parlor. She uses your group's help to channel the ghosts of Harry Houdini and strange things begin to occur as Houdini confirms he's in the room with you. He demands that Madame Daphne leave and you and your group are then left to solve various clues to free his ghost and yourselves from the escape room. The sound and visual effects, realistic props and stellar acting by the individuals who portray Madame Daphne and the ghost of Harry Houdini make this a truly immersive experience. It's easy to see why this escape room has been ranked as the best one in the country.

We had a great experience here for a recent work teambuilding. Can't say too much so as to not spoil all of the details and surprises along the way, but suffice it to say its clear why this is consistently ranked as one of the best (if not the best) escape room around. I can't think of anything that would have made the experience better - we had a great time from start to finish! You will see some escape room trick/puzzle favorites coupled along with tons of magical new ones!

We had such an amazing time at Strange Bird. We did The Man From Beyond with a party of five and had so much fun. The room was reasonably challenging, but we were able to piece most of it together without too much help. The crew were very talented and did quite a bit to create the mood and the story, and there were points where all of us were completely taken in. That said, not too frightening, so this experience is one I'd recommend to even those who are a bit jumpy. We managed to complete the room and finish with smiles on our faces. I'd echo the other comments in saying that if you've never done an escape room before, beware: this one will set the bar pretty high. If you're a more experienced escape room enjoyer, this one is a real treat. Kudos to the entire team... my family will be returning!

Did someone say Game Night? Excellent option for a game night with friends and/or family. We have tried several escape rooms, and this by far has been the best yet. Actors make these experiences truly what it is, and the actors here entertained us every last minute. The story line helps keep the audience engaged and wanting us to solve every piece to the puzzle to have a successful seance of Houdini. It truly was a successful evening of entertainment and delightfulness. Parking may be tricky if you go at night. There is a coded gate so you may need to phone to get access onto the property. This immersive experience continues growing with more escape rooms being built. Looking forward to come back.

I have been to many escape rooms that claim to be the best. But this one truly is! Your story begins the second you walk in the door and just keeps getting better. Every single detail is carefully crafted from the waiting room to the decor to the story and more. We were talking about it hours after leaving. This room was exciting and all the puzzles made perfect sense. The staff did an absolutely amazing job. I could never explain enough how incredible they were. I have done over 100 rooms over the country and this is by far one of the top! We laughed and cheered and even cried during our experience. Please go to the seance and experience this for yourself. It is a room that will stick with you!

I never would've known this was here had I not gotten this experience at a school silent auction. It's located in the design center which looks like an office. It was a very unique escape room experience. There is a story which actors act out. The puzzles were neat and the locks work well so you're never wondering if you didn't figure out the puzzle or just didn't work the lock correctly. It was a fun and I would highly recommend.

A pricey but worth-it escape room. I was very impressed with both actors who were involved in setting the scene and taking us through the storyline. And I was especially impressed with the look and mechanics of the room. It was detailed and immersive. And it really did feel like we were in a room where magic was happening. The clues were clever but fair, and we had a great time as a group solving them. It was also fun to have our tarot cards read before the room started. That was a nice bonus. Would recommend!
