DISCLOSURE: I am biased. My lezzy lover and her family grind here. And sometimes, whenever I'm around town I will stop by and help them serve hungry corporate slaves. But just because I know them personally, don't you dare dock Sam's credit of being a wonderful chef. He is a food connoisseur and has worked for reputable restaurants/bistros. I'm usually not a fan of corporate buildings and their delicatessens that exist in the dirty basements with dim lighting, but don't fear folks- Westlake Deli is definitely that, but with AWESOME food. And henceforth, we move onto the food! CHICKEN SALAD! I have not tasted a chicken salad that can beat Sam's chicken salad. It's chicken component has the right "chunkiness" and mayo with all sorts of toothsome itty bits. They have a daily special, such as home cooked sausage gumbo goodness or other hearty dishes like their bisque beef stew in potato crust. Either way, it's definitely a kick in your mouth. Have a meeting? Need a caterer? Call up these fabulous folks. They are a genuine family that can cook up a storm. But give them a heads up, it's only Momma and Daddy Chantra with their daughter. (Their son's off to school at the moment) Please don't be a tard, read the sign. Five dollars or more to charge a credit card. So when the lovely young gal says, "Sorry, we have a minimum 5 dollar charge" you either purchase a bag of chips or fork over the cash.

Westlake deli is a simple, down to earth small place at the basement of the Westlake 3 building, run by a Thai family. I go there whenever any of my favorite (Thai and other non-Thai) dishes are offered in their lunch menu (they send their menu to a distribution list everyday). They open early until 3:30pm everyday, and besides breakfast they are also a good "late lunch" option in the Westlake campus (as other places in the campus close much earlier). However, after 1pm the only lunch options left might be the salad bar or Delhi sandwiches, because most likely their lunch menu will be gone by then (hence go earlier for their lunch menu, or try to reserve one by phone).

Not bad for a cafeteria. The chicken spinach wrap is off the chains! Line's aren't too bad either.
