I am like a kid in a candy store when I go to any and all art studios. I frequent Winter Street Studios and all of the season-named studios next door. Most of my soaps and scarves were purchased from going on days where the studios are open to the public. One of my Frida paintings was purchased from one of the resident artists there. Just recently (Nov. 17, 2018), I volunteered as bartender for Winter Street Studios annual Winter Holiday Art Market (WHAM) I had a blast making and serving drinks. Art, awesome people, craft beer, cocktails, and wine. Umm, sounds like a lovely day to me!

Watercolors? Check. Sculptures? Check. Pencil drawings? Check. Abstract art you can spend hours dissecting? Check. Amazing, down to earth local artists who truly love sharing their artwork? Check, check, and check. I came to Winter Street Studios on the second Saturday of the month for their monthly art showing. The variety of art you find here is comparable to a box of chocolates. You go into any given studio thinking you know what to expect based on briefly glancing through the door before you enter. Once you're inside, everything else around you disappears and you just become completely immersed in the artists' work. It's truly incredible. The best thing about this place is how friendly and sharing each and every artist is. A good amount of the artists here rent out the studio space, so that each area doubles as their workshop and their gallery. You really can't get more authentic than that. It's always great to see the world through others' eyes and at Winter Street, there's nothing but beauty.

Crazy to find but great space for parties! I recently went to the SNAPshots party here to benefit SNAP (Spay and Neuter Assistance Program). They had food, alcohol freely flowing, a silent auction, and fashion show. Winter Street Studios was able to accommodate all of those things in different areas. The space is bright, open, and can easily be made into whatever you need as far as a space. Problems: -The parking was valet that night, but we opted to park ourselves. You have to walk over railroad tracks to get to the building and then through some gravel. On the way out we had to wait for a train to get to our car. The parking is definitely limited and the building was not at full capacity. - If this place is handicapped accessible then it's well hidden. There are stairs and gravel between parking and the 2nd floor space we were in. Drunk people were wobbly leaving. - The bathroom (yes singular) was a couple of rooms being used by both men and women. It was a little strange, but we worked it out. If there was another bathroom, no one found it. Even with all of that said, the space is great and you can do so much with it! I really liked that there was a DJ after the fashion show in one room and it was quieter in the silent auction section so you could choose your noise level! If you are looking for a place to rent out for a party/auction/benefit/etc... check this place out.

I'm an artist at Winter Street Studios and love the community and diverse range of artists in the building. The second Saturday events always bring a great crowd and artists open their studios to share their work.

Participating in today's Yelp event brought me to Winter Studios for the first time. Much to my surprise, there was a free parking lot available for patrons. This was truly appreciated because parking in the area is limited. The artists I met with today were a very friendly and truly appreciative bunch. All were delighted to either share the story behind pieces that caught my eye or discuss their career path. Each was interesting and all were as unique as the artwork displayed.

I was lucky enough to stumble upon this area by accident. I was looking through the FOTOFEST booklet to plan out my gallery tour and had spacetaker as one of my stops. However, I did not realize spacetaker was actually a resource center that was located in this strip of amazing studios known as Winter Street Studios. I was even more lucky because the day I went just happened to be on 2nd Saturday. Which is their monthly event which happens every 2nd Saturday of every month from 2-5 pm when the artists open up their studios for tours and talks. The place was decently packed. It was cool to meet many of the artists and see their work on display. Some artists were actively working as people came by. Some of the artists I was able to meet were Chris Silkwood who does Mosaic Art Design. Her stuff can be found at www.silkwoodmosaics.com I was able to check out the arts in studio 33 and meet Robert from Gallery 3. The space itself seems like an old parking garage/warehouse. Most of the original structures still remain which gives this area flavor. There were countless artists in this space. If you have never heard of this area, take the "2nd Saturday" and bring the family and have a great time. Also when you're done exploring The President's heads by David Adickes is only minutes away.

First event I've been to like this and I loved it. My bestie, her boyfriend, and I had a blast. There were so many artists that I loved. The jewelry was also nice. I fell in love with an artist named Camille Warmington. She does the most touching and beautiful photos I've seen in a long time. She takes old photos and paints them more soft and abstractly. She only does her own photos, but I hope one day she will do others. I have some pictures that I would love to see as one of her paintings. The beverages and food was amaze balls. I'll give a special shout out to the golden grill food truck, who had my mouth watering. Also titos vodka and topo Chico brand used to make a delicious and nutritious drink that we loved! Last but not least, the Texas tamale company had me wanting more! Definitely going to have all of these over again! Great job to Farrah for putting such a great ensemble together!

I visited these studios for the Winter Holiday Art market Kickoff party this past Friday and it was soo cool. a medium sized concrete studio that was jam packed with art from some really neat artists!!! A great collection of the artist in a climate controlled. Remodeled industrial complex. Nice presentation monthly open studios on second Saturday's. Art running the gambit of styles and media. Group and solo shows on a regular basis.

Another great venue filled with amazing and interesting artists! Upstairs has a great number of small studios with the artist and downstairs as well. Walking around here is definitely a fun adventure!
