when I arrived to get the car, which is located downtown in a parking garage, which gives you a Erie feeling! The car was filthy. The front seat had red stains looks like bloodthe backseat had stains as well! I didn't keep the car for the entire reservation because I felt dirty! I returned the car ASAP and canceled the membership! I wouldn't advise anyone to rent a car through zipcar! Everyone will know it's a Rental car because they put zip car stickers all over the car which is hilarious! Never ever again!

* * * * * * WARNING * * * * * * * If you are running late returning the car and you do not have the money to extend the reservation, DO NOT TURN THE GAS OFF and DO NOT CLOSE ALL OF THE DOORS until you get the car back where it belongs. Because if you turn the gas off after your reservation has expired, the car will not turn back on until you pay again. It's a toss up whether your car will be at the location or not. Read the other reviews. We ALL can't be lying. Do it at your own risk. I had to walk over a mile in the hot sun to track down another zipcar, because the original car never showed up. Yes, they charge a $50 late fee, but most people don't care about paying that. I had a TON of errands to run that day, so I didn't return my car on time on time either. Perhaps, if it had not taken nearly two hours to get a replacement car, I would have been able to turn it in on time. One place that I REALLY needed to get to was closed by the time I got there. Just use a regular car rental company if you need dependability, because there is nothing dependable about Zipcar except the late fees. Oh, and the customer service reps are NOT in the United States and English is not their first language. So, calling them to about anything will be challenging or a complete waste of time depending on who answers the phone. Go to a regular brick-and-mortar rental company if you are an ADULT with ADULT business to take care of. Highly unprofessional! The garage was closed when we tried to return the car, we drove around past our return time trying to locate a garage to drop the car off. The agent sent us to two locations and no one was there to help. I had to pay to park the car in a nearby garage, and they did NOT reimburse me like they said. By the time I got home, they were closed! Disgusting!

I went to New York and I needed a car I signed up for Zipcar. They asked me when did I need the car how long I needed and what type of car I needed. I needed a seven passenger van. I signed up for seven patches the van and I said I needed it that day. Well, they said no problem just join I joined then after I join right after I gave my credit card they told me I can apply for a car within two days Which I said I won't need a car in two days so I just canceled the membership the next thing I know I was charged $25 for the application fee which I was not told about this is a clearly Jip place scam audaces I will never use zip and I pray that whoever reads this never apply for zip car rental. After several cases in which I reserved one of your vehicles (the most recent being in the last hour), the car was not at the location it was supposed to be and never arrived despite having waited at the location for well over an hour. This has resulted in well over $1000 in charges ranging from rideshares to having to expedite shipping packages to my clients over the 3 separate occasions this has happened. Now when I call customer service I am on hold for 50+ minutes before I reach an agent who puts me on another hold to speak with a manager, and then the call drops. I wouldn't typically reach out to the company via social media for something like this, but I cannot get ahold of anyone from your company that can help me. This has been not only an inconvenience to me, but a financial issue to my clients as well. If there is anyway you can direct me to someone within the company that can provide direct assistance I would very much appreciate it. I would very much like to avoid escalating this issue any further, but without appropriate assistance I fear I may have no other recourse. On the rare occasion when the car I reserved was actually at the designated location, I found not 1, but 2 crack pipes in the glove box.

My husband's phone broke and it had our reservation number. We were pretty sure we booked a car under Zipcar. When we called to verify, we waited 10 mins on hold. When someone answered the phone, they asked for an account/ reservation number. I told the man that I don't have that information and I was just trying to verify that we had a reservation today. The man said he could not tell me without the number. I told him again and again that I do not have that information. He told me to have a great day and hung up on me. This is a horrible business and I'd rather hitchhike than deal with this crap.

Absolutely horrible, irresponsible customer service! I was locked out of the car for over 3 hours because the app does not work in underground parking lots in Washington DC. The staff could care less, I called repeatedly for help and they told me they would call me back in 20 mins. I would have left the car but my personal items were in the car. I HAVE NEVER CURSED OUT A CUSTOMER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE BUT I DID THAT DAY!! After 3 hours I called my own tow truck to open the car. The tow that they claim they were sending never came. Still waiting to be reimbursed for the tow and the uber. PLEASE USE ANY OTHER METHOD OF TRANSPORTATION. This is extremely dangerous if you are a woman traveling alone.

I use this services several times. But last two time cars broke or never start. The first time the car run out battery and they told me I cannot used it and they cannot assign me another car so I was left without help. I have to went to enterprise and beg for a car because all companies was out of cars. And the second time the car is overheating and I was waiting for 2 hours for Zipcar to pickup the car in order to assign a new car

I would give a minus one hundred if possible. I am very disappointed in your customer service`s professionalism. The car I booked (Ford Escape Hollyroller) for a driving test almost 3 weeks before the test, was switched 2 times to a different car. I took this exact car only for purpose of having it for my exam. I have been using only this vehicle with multiple reservations for the past month. I wanted to get used to it and be comfortable with the vehicle, before going through such a stressful thing. I hoped for a pleasant experience with the company and, in the end, I am stressed out by the situation, when I should not worry about the car at all. I contacted Zipcar 3 times starting as early as October 15th, 2016, requesting the car for a driving test. Multiple employees have told me that the car is OK, documents are OK and I will get both for my test on November the 2nd. Nobody ever mentioned that something is wrong with documents until yesterday, October the 27th. The assistant, name is Hope, first, told me there is something wrong with the insurance, then told me that something is wrong with the registration. It is less than a week till my exam and it is rather stressful and exhausting to handle this situation, created by lack of professionalism. My work and study progress are tremendously affected by this situation. It makes me frustrated, when I should have a pleasant experience with Zipcar that I hoped for, applying for a membership. Speaking about this situation, I talked to a manager yesterday October the 27th 2016, name is Rubin, who insured me that your Zipcar member services team will provide me with a clear explanation what is wrong with the car and its documents. Which it did not do. It is my right to know if I was operating a zipcar vehicle that lacks required documentation. I am more than concerned about my wellbeing and life safety now, using the services of the company. How can a car be driven if it doesn`t have all of the required documentation as liability insurance, registration and state inspection? The answer is: it cannot be driven. The company puts their customers` lives and safety in danger and does not want to cooperate at all! I am curious exactly what documents on this car are missing. The car should have up to date liability insurance coverage, state inspection and registration. As a zipcar member and a frequent driver of Ford Escape Hollyroller I am concerned about the availability of these documents for the car. It is illegal to drive a car without those documents. I am not clear about what is missing that does allow me to drive on the streets of Houston, but does not allow to take the car for the driving test at DPS.

Excellent customer service was provided by Alaina Gray. She made what could be considered a very difficult process very simple and enjoyable with her positive attitude. She suggested I join and I did! My partner was very frustrated with his account suspension and she cleared it up and was very honest and kind throughout the process. We are both very happy to be zipcar members!
