This is one of our favorite restaurants in Houston. I think it compares to the other very well known Pakistani restaurant named Agas in everything but bbq (at the time I went.. they could have got better). I think a lot of the times people think that Pakistani food is just very spicy, but it's actually very deep with flavor and I don't only want just high levels of spice. And I feel like they get that here. I really like the white colachi curry with chicken, and their naan is fluffy and delicious. I like how they bring the pot to the table. Their kabobs are good. Their mango laasi is also fantastic! It's definitely not as big as the other place, but I like that, it feels more cozy and small. My number one thing is having good customer service and they have great customer service, and it felt very intimate.

They serve large portions that can be shareable as most Indian restaurants however, the dishes served are more Pakistan style than traditional Indian. Nonetheless, all of our dishes were delicious and our server Sweeta knew exactly what to recommend. My only problem was the strong floral fragrance in the air as if in a laundry facility. It was so strong, I felt as though I was struggling to breathe.

Chicken lollipop - 9/10 - Soo crispy, really good with the sauce but outter part got a bit hard after a while Chicken malai boti - 9/10 - Well cooked and tender Balochi goat karahi - 9.5/10 - Cooked really well, the flavors of the karahi were spot-on with a kick Lahori fried fish w/fries - 9/10 - Crispy and tasty, fries were also so crispy, fish could have more flavor Colachi chili chicken - 8.5/10 - Really liked the flavors of this and how soft the chicken bit were Tawa paratha - 9.5/10 - Perfectly crispy and soft Mango shake - 9/10 - Really good but as a dessert , tasted like blended mango ice-cream, wasnt overly sweet Classic skikanjabeen - 10/10 - Sprite with fresh lemon and mint, loved the balance of flavors Havent been here in a minute and forgot how much I loved this place. Theyre hands down one of my favorite desi restaurants in town. The quality and flavors of the dishes were amazing. Definitely recommend if youre in the area!

Outstanding per usual! Had the chili shrimp and goat chops. Both had delicious flavor and just the right amount of spice. Goat chops had plenty of meat. The service was 10/10 with very attentive and kind employees. Restaurant was clean. I would def come back! The buffet looked so inviting and smelled incredible. All the food stations were filled as needed. I will definitely have to come back to try it!

The food and servic was excellent. It's clean, and it's a nice environment. I had the butter chicken with white rice and it was amazing. My grandma had the Mongolian chicken and she enjoyed it as wel. I would definitely come bac.

I got the malai kofta curry, chicken makhani handi, a ton of garlic naan, and tropical chicken. The food is absolutely phenomenal (10/10) I know that there is some hype over agas but Mai colachi is certainly a threat to them! I prefer to come to Mai colachi over any other Pakistani restaurant in Houston. The establishment is very clean, comfortable seating unlike the typical plastic chairs and wobbly tables, and the music is perfectly suited for the traditional dining experience. The service is quick and I like that the servers aren't looming over the tables but service is amazing. Definitely recommend Mai Colachi if you're looking for some authentic Pakistani food without going to an outdated and sticky restaurant. Great for date night and a great spot if you're looking to find some good Pakistani delicacies. Try the Cheshm e shireen. Let them know to warm up the gulab jamun and place it on the kulfi. It's is to die for!!!!!

Went there for Thursday night buffet , that had all street foods , chais and also a dinner spread. Awesome ambience , went in for 7-7:40 pm reservation slot . Clean food, very attentive service by the wait staff and owner alike They kept the trays filled with hot fresh foods regardless of the time in the Buffet. Along with pani puri , dahi papdi chat they had kadak chai and gulaabi Kashmiri chai with almond and pistachio garnish. Everything was perfectly cooked and flavored . Second time here , this time for Sunday lunch with a friend and my 8 yo daughter. I was surprised they had buffet so we opted buffet vs menu. I enjoyed the food options and I loved the desserts. There's mango lassi and very hot (I burned my hand) tea with milk at the dessert table. The cheesecakes and macarons were good. I'm not sure of the prices bc my friend paid for lunch. Service was great. You can request for hot and fresh naan brought to you vs getting the ones at the buffet table.

Came here for lunch on a Saturday, I was the only one dining in the restaurant. By the way, there's no lunch buffet on Saturday. I ordered the traditional chickpea curry, thought I'd just have a simple and ordinary meal. However, I was pleasantly surprised by the presentation and flavor of the dish, needless to say the portion size was above impressive. It came in a giant pot, it's enough to be shared by 2-3 people. The flavor is phenomenal, I couldn't stop eating it. It also comes with a side salad (sliced carrots, cucumbers and onions, just fresh and plain). The only thing you need to be mindful is that they ask you if you want naan or rice to go with your curry, without disclosing that the rice is not included in the meal, so I was charged for extra $6 for the rice. But the rice is fluffy and buttery, it's delicious. Overall, I'm very satisfied with the meal.

We have catered food from here several times for parties, and our guests loved it. The fresh breads are great. My kids love the chicken lollipop and fish fry. I am a vegetarian, and I love their paneer hunzai handi and palak paneer. My family has tried Chicken peshawari karahi and chicken makhani handi in the main course, and they come out delicious each time. The staff is very polite.
