Moss Glen Falls has some scenic views and trails.  However, in order to access the waterfalls, it requires ascending/descending rocks and tree root-covered dirt paths that are narrow in some places.  Some of the footing to the waterfalls is not even and to ascend requires lifting your legs and knees higher to different footing and levels to get to the next step.  There is not many sitting positions to get a clear view of the waterfalls if you are late to arrival and other photographers have positioned themselves in front of the coveted view. I would not want to be at the top of the trail if there were a lot of people traversing to the waterfalls as it can be a tight walk up or down in some areas. What I’m trying to say is walking up to the waterfalls is not for the faint of heart or for people who have limitations or disabilities.  I would not traverse the trail if it has rained or is wet or muddy. Some of the trail on the way to the waterfalls has grooved wood planks to step on to help avoid the marshy area or water that may have come over made its way over the trail. The trail can be quite muggy and hot during the summer.  There are a limited number of parking spaces at the opening to the waterfalls.

Stunning waterfall!  The lady behind us gasped when she saw it.

Super easy, flat walk that has wooden boards down to keep your feet from getting muddy. There are a few places without boards and small muddy areas you can try to step around.

At the end of the wooden area, there are stone block stairs. Not gonna lie, I'm a fluffy girl that doesn't excerise.  I wore heavy hiking boots and I was breathing hard by the time I hit the top.

Hiking boots were not necessary my normal tennis shoes would have been fine.  On the way out, We passed a lady wearing suede heels who asked if her shoes would be okay. Those would not work, especially up top, it's all roots and very uneven to walk. The top area is also very small and yoh have to work your way the other people that are trying to get that perfect shot lined up.

I believe I read the sign that said a 1/4 mile walk one way so 1/2 mile round trip.

This was a nice stop along our drive in Vermont during the foliage. Parking along the street was easy enough. Could pack a picnic and sit by the water or walk up the steps in the forest to reach the top. Less than 10 minutes walk to the top.

It’s a beautiful waterfall with a nice forest path. Currently (September 2024) some parts of the path are obstructed by fallen trees. Beyond the falls is really only for locals or people with time to spare. If you’re visiting and want the most efficient and rewarding itinerary, just go to the falls, then go back.

Beautiful waterfall. Need to climb up the rocks if you want to go close to the fall. There is an amazing view from the top of the trail.
