While staying nearby in VA Beach I stopped in one evening for tacos for dinner. The place was packed and there was a line with about 10 people in it when I went in, but it only took about 10 mins to get to the register. They have a deal on Monday where you get three of their fish tacos for $9, but you can't add anything to them or make any sort of modification. The tacos took about 10 mins to be made and brought out to my table and they looked rather messy, with one having had the topping slid off. The flavor of the tacos was great though! The fish was perfectly fried and tasted fresh and all the topping were excellent! Service here is rather a pain, they seem to act like they're popular and you just need to deal with the service you get. If the service was better, I'd give it 5 stars.

I rarely give 5 stars but this place deserves it! All around casual, surf ambience. I'm from Southern California and I just experienced the most delicious and fresh Baja tacos ever!!! Paired the lunch special of Baja rice and black beans with a cold Modelo Michelada. The staff were friendly and service was quick. It's a YES from me! Must visit if in the Virginia Beach area

This is still my favorite place to eat in VA Beach. We come to the beach every summer and every summer we eat at Pelon's. They have the best fish and shrimp tacos and the carne asada fries are KILLER! We mainly come during the happy hour time to try to beat the dinner rush, and enjoy the good deals on the tacos. Their burritos are huge and the vibe is great and what you're looking for when you come to the beach.

We decided to try this place for dinner. We wanted a spot we could walk to and this place had good reviews, so we tried it. We happened to be there when they were offering a taco special, so each got two tacos. My husband got fish tacos and I got shrimp tacos. The tortillas are piled with the fillings, so you get something with each bite. When we arrived, there was a line but did not have to wait long to order. After ordering, our drinks were brought to us quickly and not long after that we got our tacos. We enjoyed the food and casual vibe of the place.

A little pricy, but the food was tasty. We stopped in randomly and decided to give it a try. The chorizo tacos were very good and had great flavor. The nachos were also good. Fast service, and friendly atmosphere. Price was a bit high, but this is a tourist area, so it was expected.

Tried Pelon's Baja Grill while staying on the beach and were pleasantly surprised. Easy pick-up and delicious food, good portions and acceptable prices. Carne Asada tacos were amazing. Rolled tacos with chicken and Nachos were also excellent. Standard hot sauces available plus their House sauces -hot, medium and mild -to try. Oh, forgot to mentions the different and delicious salsa, loved it with the great thin chips!!! Loved this place so much, actually came here two dinners in a row. We will definitely be back next time we visit.

I have been coming to Virginia Beach for the past 15 years, and Pelon's Baja Grill has always been one of my go-to spots. I used to absolutely love the fish burrito--it was hands-down one of the best around. Lately, though, the quality just hasn't been the same. On my last couple of visits, the fish burrito was disappointing. The breading on the fish was soggy instead of crisp, and there was a heavy amount of bean paste that overwhelmed the other flavors. It makes me a little sad to write this, because I have so many great memories tied to this place. I'm hoping this is just a rough patch and that the food will return to the high standard it once had. Still rooting for you, Pelon's.
