This is my daughters' favorite Mexican restaurant in Olympia. Everything is authentic, tasty and it is easy to get something made vegan. This is the only place where my kids actually order off of the kids menu. Instead of cheese on a tortilla or chicken nuggets, there are substantial, nutritious and tasty food options. My husband is a big fan of the vegetarian burrito and he is from Texas. Service and drinks are exceptional. My husband is a michelada connoisseur and he rates theirs as "top tier".

I really wanted to like this place, but unfortunately, it missed the mark for me. I asked for my drink blended, but it came out on the rocks. When I pointed it out, it wasn't corrected. The ceviche didn't taste fresh, which is always disappointing when you're expecting bright, zesty flavors. I also had to send back the michelada--their house mix tasted overwhelmingly like soy sauce, which just didn't work. On the bright side, the burrito was actually pretty tasty. It was well-seasoned and satisfying, and honestly the highlight of the meal. Overall, the service was polite but not very attentive, and the food/drinks were hit or miss. Probably wouldn't return unless it's just for that burrito.

I wanted to love this place. It's beautiful inside! They staff are mostly nice. BUT... They need more meat. Flattest enchiladas and tacos I've ever seen. The first time I went was with family. One of my cousins went to a kid's birthday party after our lunch and ended up eating again because she was still hungry. :( So the next time I came, I tried a burrito. They looked heartier in the pictures. Why were there crunched up tortilla chips in it?!?! Lol ugh and the waiter was cleaning (mopping) 30 minutes before close and being very pushy for us to wrap up our dinner. It was weird. Drinks are just ok.

I would give this place 4 stars if they bothered to garnish with pickled veggies or cilantro. I really like the Chile Relleno and any of the Margaritas are good. Even the house Margarita is decent. Most places use just a sloppy mix, but they bother to squeeze lime juice and add Tajin to the room of the glass and it just tastes better. They have homemade house tortillas that are corn and they're very good. I'm tired of Mexican restaurants that serve stale chips and watery salsa and I will say that they could do a lot to improve their salsa here too. It tastes OK, but it's very watered down.

We ordered the jalapenos for appetizer and al pastor tacos. The tacos hardly were seasoned, they needed lime and I would have asked for salt honestly. My drink was decent. The jalapenos were charred nicely however it was like bacon bits on top and the cream cheese was cold inside. We were the only ones there during dinner time which was interesting. I do not plan on going back but I do love the decor!

Walked in, two tables seated. We waited 10-15 minutes for water and then another 10 minutes for chips and salsa (I honestly thought that this was my first Mexican restaurant that didn't have chips and salsa). The chips were not warm or fresh, however the salsa was delicious. Coming from Arizona, I was spoiled there, but the lack of taste consumed my experience. Mole, is supposed to be chocolaty and I did not taste that nor the delicious pablano pepper that adorned the name in the menu. The rice had an excellent consistency, but very little taste. The black beans were again lacking taste and I began to think maybe I had the Rona. I lathered the rest of that delicious salsa on my plate and added some much needed flavor. The waiter never returned to bring us water and it as the restaurant filled up on a Friday evening, it looked like he was the only server. The colorful decorations and murals brightened up the dining room. The vibrant pinks and reds reminded me of walking down in Ensenada.

Upon walking in I fell in love with the papel picado and the giant Catrina mural behind the bar. I loved the overall ambiance. We ordered the queso fundido to start with and I ordered the pitaya & it was delicious. For an entree we had the ceviche and the signature carne asada. The carne asada was nice and tender & full of flavor. The ceviche was flavorful and fresh. Our server was attentive and very kind.

We stopped here for lunch, we were the first ones. Restaurant it self is nice spacious and has great art by the bar. Our waiter was very nice and patient. We order couple plates all good flavor, horchata was great. The only thing I disliked was the coffee it tasted like water and my husband didn't like the mango chela.

UPDATE: there's no way to reply to the owners comment, so I'm doing this. Thank you for solidifying that I will never be back here, and for letting the world know how rude you are, I wouldn't expect anything else from an owner that buys bacon bits. Do you honestly think people are going to read your comment and say "oh, I have to try this place!" Maybe you should spend more time fixing things in your restaurant, and less time writing ridiculous comments to people's honest reviews. Get over your ego. You should care if people have a bad experience, not pick apart what happened and try to put the short comings of your restaurant on the customer. The problems I had seem common in your establishment, based on other reviews. Your servers are awful. Your cooks are inconsistent. Your beer is flat. You buy cheap products. I don't know how you expect to be successful with these issues. REVIEW: What an awful experience. A Mexican restaurant that doesn't serve chips and salsa should be required to put a sign on the door. They didn't even have it on the menu to order, so weird. The whole menu was weird, all it had was quesadillas and birria. We ended up ordering two different beers and the stuffed jalapeños. Both beers were gross and flat. The jalapeños I was worried they'd be too spicy but I tried one and it was fine, they had scraped out all the seeds. It still wasn't good tho, the bacon in it was pre cooked bacon from a bag that tasted old and the cream cheese was cheap. I was starving though so I bit into the second one and my whole mouth and throat instantly was on FIRE. I'm so glad we didn't order more food because if you can't even consistently clean out jalapeños, I have no hope for the rest of the food. Three minutes later I'm puking flat beer and nasty bacon bits in their bathroom. I'm visibly not doing well. Eyes watering and choking/coughing and instead of asking if I'm ok or helping us get out of there, our server kept rattling stuff off about pinball to my husband. Never again!!!!
