Decided to stop by this taco truck for a quick post work out meal Spent about $20 for 4 tacos. They're bigger than your typical taco truck, taco lol. Tastes pretty good! Not gunna be your super authentic Mexican taco but... better than your average taco I guess?

There are two locations which we didn't realize... and accidentally ordered super last minute before they closed. Very sorry to whoever that was the owner we promised we didn't do it on purpose. He still made the order in time and speedy and was super nice, asked what kinda salsa we wanted as he offered a lot of choices. We got the pork tamale and fish burrito. Lord they were rlly good. We were genuinely surprised. Huge portions and was packaged well. Nothing was leaking. Would go back again when in the area. And will order before 8pm. So sorry again !

Really enjoyed my meal from El Camion. I got the Burrito adobada (listed as spicy marinated pork). The thing is absolutely colossal, had to be over 2 pounds. Contrary to some other reviews I saw here, that heft wasn't inflated by excessive beans and rice, this was chock-full of meat. The pork itself was juicy, nicely marinated, though I wouldn't say it's really spicy at all. The other ingredients (beans, pico, cheese, cilantro) were strong as well, though I would've liked some more pico to lighten the whole thing up a bit. Distribution of ingredients left something to be desired, with the middle being mainly just meat (could be worse). Overall though, this is an awesome burrito made only better by the variety of free salsas you can choose from. Service was fast and friendly when I went around 5, and there's some covered seating beside the food truck. I could see it getting busy during peak hours, so consider going earlier/later. I'll be back!

I visited El Camion after being promised the best burritos in Seattle. This location is a food truck with a small seating area next door. There's no heating, so it gets a bit cold during the winter, but for the freshest food, I had to brave the cold. El Camion Burrito, Cochinita Pibil ($13.20) - This burrito is large and hefty clocking in at around 8 inches by 4 inches, and weighing upwards of 2 pounds. The construction leaves a lot to be desired; the fold technique is suspect and flour tortilla they use is not nearly large enough to contain the massive quantity of ingredients inside. This allows the burrito to literally burst at the seams and ends, leaking black bean juice all over the inside of the foil wrapping. As a result, the burrito quite awkward to eat - for anyone expecting a portable meal, this isn't it. There's a reason they supply a fork and knife with the food because you simply can't eat this the same way as a typical burrito. This creates an additional issue. This is a food truck. The burrito needs to be eaten fresh for maximum enjoyment. While there is seating (uncomfortable stools next to bar seating that's too high and tables that are too low), it's not easy to eat at these makeshift tables. The small paper tray the burrito is served on isn't large enough to capture all of the beans dropping onto the table, on my jacket, all over the place. Not to mention how cold it is outside on a winter Seattle morning! On to the ingredients. A lot of burritos in this region suffer from a lack of moisture, requiring salsa to be slathered on to actually make each bite palatable. El Camion's burrito, on the other hand, has no issues at all. They include tons of black beans (in fact I'd venture a guess and say that half of the weight of the burrito is these beans) with stewing liquid included, reduced to almost a gravy-like consistency. There's fresh pico, with tomatoes to add additional moisture, not to mention the cheese, sour cream, and the soaking liquid for the meat itself. Even with all this moisture, it somehow doesn't cause too much drippage nor does the tortilla become soaked through. Speaking of the tortilla - it's warmed for a bit giving the first couple of burrito bites a distinct toasty firmness. It quickly dissipates into the normal flour tortilla texture, given how the burrito steams in the wrapper. The last two ingredients - rice and meat. Both are given in relatively small quantities, given that the burrito is chock full of beans, not leaving much room for too much else. The slight amount of rice is cooked al dente, giving a bit of a toothsome bite. There's a decent amount of cochinita pibil, which in this case is essentially a marinated/stewed carnitas. It's moist, not dry, and decently flavorful with a bit of citrus and a lot of savory elements. There's a bit of a char on the meat, giving additional smokiness. Overall quite tasty. El Camion offers seven types of salsa to accompany any dish. I went with the avocado and the chipotle. The avocado is fresh, a bit citrusy and spicy. The chipotle puree is sweeter than it is spicy or smoky. In fact I'd say that the avocado is actually more spicy than the chipotle for some reason. Both salsas are good enough and serve their intended purpose. Then again, the burrito doesn't require the salsa in the first place. El Camion serves a pseudo-Mission-style burrito filled with decently flavorful ingredients, but poor craftsmanship. Would I revisit? Yes, it's good enough and located conveniently just off the Roosevelt Station stop. But for any Mission burrito purists just off the plane from SFO, this is probably a skip.

It's been a minute since I've been here, and so glad I returned. In the past I've ordered tacos, but they weren't anything memorable. The chicken was on the dry side and the best part was the variety of sauces they offer. ----However, a coworker brought their taco special in for lunch and I almost drooled. They looked soo good that I had to swing by today. These juicy tacos were their special. Huge, flavorful, and packed with marinated sliced chicken, tomatoes, onions, beans too! So damn good. Two of the three filled me up without any sides. I'm saving the remaining taco for tomorrow's lunch. The price was beyond fair too! For my kiddos huge black bean & cheese burrito, and my three tacos, the total was around $20. I'll surely return and hope they offer this special again. Heck, they need to permanently add these to the menu!

This definitely has a potential for 5 star after a few more visits. I have heard of this place from Instagram and so I been wanting to try it. It definitely did not disappoint. It looks like there are multiple locations but we were near this one so decided to check it out. It is a food truck located near whole foods. The people there are very friendly and service was good. They have some seatings outside if you want to dine in. It's pretty casual We got: El capitan nachos: a very generous portion of chips and protein (of your choice) and we got beef cheeks which was super tender and flavorful. Only downside, the chips are very weak so you can't really use it to scoop up stuff, definitely need a fork for this. Otherwise everything was delicious Chicken mole tamale: for $3.5, you get this gigantic tamale and it was pretty good. I was surprised at how low the price is for this massive tamale. And it was pretty flavorful too! Definitely will be back to try other stuff here in the near future. Oh and I love the selection of spices that are available and they are pretty generous with providing them to you as well.
