Chill, friendly, and non-intrusive vibe. The dim red lighting, street lamps above the bar, and urban art adorning the walls create a unique atmosphere. The vinyl record library room, complete with smooth hip-hop jams, is the perfect touch. Ideal for a solo date night, a romantic evening, or a night out with friends. The food is delicious, with the Pad See Ew being possibly the best I've had. Highly recommended!

Khao Mun Gai by day, club by night. What a concept. I'm a huge fan of chicken and rice, so I've been wanting to try Guitar's for a while now. AMBIANCE If you love chill hip hop and r&b, the playlist will be perfect for you at GKMG. It is a nightclub, so expect the dim lighting. We came in around 7 and it was pretty empty. The service was excellent, and our server was really attentive. FOOD The Khao Soi was probably my favorite thing that we ordered. It's a great blend of creamy and spicy broth that can really be put over anything. The noodles had a good bounce to them and soaked up the broth well. No complaints here I thought the Khao Mun Gai was a little underwhelming. While it is a very simple dish, I found the chicken to be a little bland, and could have been juicier. Guitar's Khao Mun Gai captures the clean tasting essence of the dish, but isn't something to go crazy over. The Khao Mun Gai Tod was a nice twist on a traditional dish, essentially just a fried KMG. Again, it was alright, I'd go with the regular KMG if I had to choose. OVERALL Great vibes, loved the Khao Soi, and the service was great. I wish the KMG had just a little more to it, but still and overall solid experience.

I am a fanatic for Khao Man Gai. Every time I travel to a new city I check to see if there is a Khao Man Gai restaurant around. I mean, I'm from Portland, home of the famous Nong's Khao Man Gai, so how could I not sample other cities' KMG dish right? Guitar's KMG is my favorite place to get this dish in Seattle! It was hard to find (it doubles as Sugar Hill- a club- by night) and is really unsuspecting, but the food was definitely worth the trek. The service was good and the menu was short, but sweet. They had several types of KMG, and my friend and I chose to check out the original as well as the Gai Pad Khem (black sweet soy sauce chicken). Each dish came out with rice and a winter melon soup, which was a great palette cleanser, especially given how deliciously garlicky the meal was. The chicken itself was soft, tender, and flavorful. They give you a plate of various dipping sauces, and I found that the spicy one was my favorite. The sauces were not too salty and had a great ginger kick to them. I will say that the rice could have been more flavorful (usually the rice served with the KMG I've had have been cooked with chicken broth), but the chicken made up for the rice. As I came later in the night, the music in the restaurant was louder than I would have liked, and the lights were very dim (very characteristic of what grungy Capitol Hill is like). That being said, the service was good and there were multiple tables to sit at. As the Portlander that I am, I think Nong's KMG is my favorite in the PNW, but Guitars is definitely a place you should check out if you don't want to drive 3 hours to get some good KMG.

Unsuspecting but authentic Thai cuisine located in Sugar Hill Seattle. Please do keep in mind that this is a bar, so it is unfair to expect a restaurant level service. That being said, the service and attention were great! Came in on a Tuesday evening with a friend for my birthday celebration. We sat downstairs and were the only ones there. Our waiter was quick and helpful, taking our orders for the Khao Mun Gai, Beek Gai Tod (wings), and an extra order of Wintermelon soup. The Khao Mun Gai is fresh and fragrant, almost as good as the kmg at nongs in Portland. The wings were pretty good, and I personally loved the wintermelon soup- finished every drop. The portions could be a bit larger, but for the price, it wasn't too bad- plus we were headed to Fogon after to eat/drink more. If you're looking to stop in for a quick and delicious casual dinner, or looking for something good to eat while drinking/dancing at Sugar Hill- this is the spot. Cheers!

(yes, they're open as of May 2020) This place has been here for years, but I'd only gone once. What a mistake. I got the khao soi last night and it was genuinely one of the best khao sois I've ever gotten in the states - wonderfully fragrant.

Omgosh Yes. We are so happy to have found a chicken+beer place in Cap Hill. The atmosphere and music-- spot on 90s R&B, hip hop, yes. Brings back a lot of memories. We literally walked by this place numerous times because we didn't realize that it was a fried chicken restaurant inside (there's just a menu taped to window). Happy Hour is only on weekdays until 7pm!! Yessss $2 off wells, wines, drafts & small plates 1. 50/50 (half fried, half steamed) - we chose to get this to sample their menu. I thought that their Hainan style chicken was moist and delicious. I've had some pretty mediocre Hainan chicken at 5 star restaurants and I felt that Guitar's did a great job. Their sauces are also really tasty. 2. Fried Chicken Wings (Beek Gai Tod) - perfectly fried, moist inside, paired with great sauces. 3. Deep fried chicken skin (Nang Gai Tod) - This is THE perfect happy hour dish with beer. I love chicken skin and they do a fabulous job. 4. Curry Corn Fritters (Khao Pod Tod) - Delicious!! Basically deep fried corn fritters. Savory + sweet 5. Deep fried tofu pillows (Tao Hu Tod) - This was really good if you are looking for a meat alternative. We got it because I love salt and peppered fried tofu, and this definitely hits the spot.

We like the Hainan chicken and rice here, but don't love it. Nong's Khao Man Gai still has the best chicken and rice in the PNW, but it's also 3 hour away. There aren't nearly enough places in the US where you can enjoy tender chicken alongside nutty jasmine rice simmered in chicken stock and served with dollops of herbs and spices; so we'll take what we can get! P.S: the real winner is the Nang Gai Tod - deep fried chicken skin with tamarind fish sauce. We'll come back for more.

After hearing reviews that this isnt a gweilo fusion Thai spot, I had to give it a try. This is located inside Sugar Hill, and its still a restaurant before the venue goes full ratchet. The portions are not terribly big, but the prices are fairly reasonable for what you get! I'm personally on the hunt for the best curry noodle soup so i gave the khao soi a chance. It was average at best, and at $13, i would highly recommend paying an extra $2 and going to Soi instead. The chicken wings were great! Moist and crisp, paired with a tangy, sour, spicy fish sauce dip, a good addition to the meal. I tried the Khao Mun Gai and contradictory to other reviews, it was disappointing - the chicken was dry. Overall, if you're looking for a more authentic thai meal (definitely not Bai Tong Thai Street Food), I'd recommend checking this spot out! While the portions are not huge, the prices arent either!

I came back the other day cuz I was craving Khao mun gai, and was expecting to have be in my happy place... but sadly, no. It seemed like the quality has gone down. The flavor of the chicken wasn't there, but it was still juicy, and the soup! The soup had NO FLAVOR and no wintermelon, like the cook forgot to put salt in it or something. Overall, I was really disappointed with my experience... it's just sad to see one of my favorite chicken rice places go down in quality like this. Plus for the price, the portion was way too small for me now that I work out , not enough protein for my gainz lol. Hopefully I caught them on a bad day, maybe I'll return and get again but not really sure when that will be
