I've had the absolute pleasure in working with Jonathan for a few high end events at our property. It feels like he raises the bar all over again with his catering events. I am soo glad I found Jonathan with Kwanchai! As a real estate broker, I hired him for a listing of mine in Sammamish, WA and wow did he do a great job with partial staging! The sellers were still living there and he was great at meeting with them to help decide what to leave and what to pack away. He has great style and design and potential buyers were all impressed, along with my clients. He also is a good communicator with a positive and reassuring attitude which is always great to work with. After many weeks, I still remember the wonderful wedding lunch I had in Seattle for two dear friends. What I also remember was that the food was delicious! From the simple to the more complex - fried noodle salad and dumplings for the masses - yet when I helped myself from serving to the next, I could taste the dedication and also the party of flavours. It was one of the few wedding receptions where I not only enjoyed the food, I still remember the flavours, just as much as I remembered the beautiful moments of celebration that afternoon.

Such a pleasure to work with Jonathan Matthews and his team. They are experienced, professional and all around easy to work with. We were just blown away by the fabulous design work and the time and energy that Jonathan put into the total look of the house. I am a firm believer in the merits of staging, but only if you find a talented and great stager. This wasn't the first time we worked with Jonathan and as usual the sellers were pleased with the his work and prices they received. I Highly recommend Jonathan and his team. I don't know what we would do without them. Truly a great experience!

Jonathan does whatever it takes to get the job done! We worked with him for less than 2 weeks to help stage our house to prepare to sell. We were not ready as much as we wanted to be but Jonathan was all in to move furniture, touch up painting, help boxing up our stuff. We all are so pleased with the results and our house is beautiful! I hired Kwanchai, Jonathan Mathews Design Group on November 17, 2017 to complete a custom island for our kitchen. We put down a $2000 (1/2 the total) deposit with his commitment to complete prior to Christmas 2017. It is still not complete and it has taken over 14 months to get this far with little to no communication despite numerous texts and false promises. The quality is not near what I would expect for a $4000 island. We had asked for a custom kitchen island with built in cabinetry and a wine rack on one end. The first delivery was the iron frame which we actually did not mind except we wondered how the cabinets and wine rack would be fit and installed. The second delivery was the sub-quality piece of granite, which did match the color we were looking for but came with a raw piece of plywood underneath to support it. We asked for the plywood to be covered with a veneer or metal surface to avoid splinters and a cheap appearance. The cabinet was dropped off next after numerous text messages. When it was finally delivered, it looked like a store bought cabinet with a pasted on veneer to match our kitchen and didn't even come close to fitting the dimensions of the iron frame. Since then, we requested he take back the cabinet and just install a wire rack midway down the island and we would call it even. This was on Oct 17, 2018. He has made a few false promises since then and is now not communicating at all. I have hired Jonathan for events, house painting and another piece of custom furniture and while the communication has never been stellar, the end product has always been to my satisfaction. Unfortunately I believe he took advantage of my trust as a long-standing client.
