I've only dealt with this shop online, but the experience with them was superb. I ordered a fairly high value bicycle. First, Sean, Sales Manager, reached out to let me know they only had the floor model, he offered to either cancel the order or provide a discount. I took the discount and very much appreciated the upfront manner in which he handled this. Eagerly awaiting my new bike, UPS literally drops the ball, or the bike fell off the truck or something....who knows? Anyway, again, Sean was always a pleasure to work with and provided a refund immediately. I had to ultimately buy the bike somewhere else, there was a very specific bike I wanted, but I was super impressed by this shop. I only wish I had a shop this cool near me! (Then maybe I wouldn't have to deal with UPS losing a whole bike!)

Top tier for coffee and bikes! I recently moved up from SF with my dogma F and was looking around for an Italian campy friendly bike shop and found the one! Not to mention their coffee is top tier!! Will be coming back for years to come, and getting new bikes from them hopefully as well! Already checked out a sarto lampo :) Also this place is CLEAN. Big plus for me. No complaints whatsoever

I bought a used set of Enve tubeless wheels that needed retaping. Enve specifies special tape and a new sort of valve. Online with shipping these tiny parts would have cost $64, at the least I was going to save that shipping. I called around to various seattle bike stores and no one had any in stock, intil I called Metier. While they didn't have new product in stock, Metier's mechanic dug around and found pair of half used rolls and some enve valves that he would sell me for $10. Excellent! We came in, parts were waiting at the register and... OMG the store is full of the most beautiful bicycles I've ever seen. Stuff from magazines. My wife and I walked around just admiring the paint and shapes for 20 minutes. I've not seen such an awesome display of bicycles since Klein in the early 90s. Way to go! I can't say that Metier will be able to hook you up with used shop supplies, but I am very pleased that they made the effort in my case. It's been a long while since a shop has shown me such courtesy. I'm certainly going to make an effort to buy from them in the future. They had a bar with coffee and beer but it was morning and we were already well caffeinated. Next time.

The folks at Métier have really leveled up customer service! My wife's coffee drink wasn't quite right the first time ... well, the barista practically did back flips to make it just perfect! (The new drink tasted amazing!) They'll also tune up your bicycle here. Ain't Seattle a trip?!

Service (-5): Revisited the spot from out of state; such a long time since. The girl behind the counter seemed unhappy; says she's the manager. She does not acknowledge our greetings, has a perennial frown on her face. Maybe it is just us and then she proceeds to terrify two other patrons. She has an AirPod in their right ear all the time. Setting: (+5) Really love the venue, and having been here once was really looking forward to returning again. Coffee: (+4) It was actually decent; we need to get some writing done so the caffeine boost was welcome. Summary: ( 5*4/15 = 1.34) We must confess some partiality, primarily because last summer when we first visited, such a wonderful experience it was. We suspect it's the management now that's to blame. And if the manager has to serve coffee, an unflattering review is the least of their concerns. Dated: 04/21/24

I've had two interactions with the staff at Metier. The first time I wanted to buy a saddle, and had some options in mind. The sales person I was directed to deigned to squeeze me in between two appointments, and then rushed through our interactions, proceeded to not listen, talk over me, and condescend when I tried to ask questions. The second time I had Specialized send a small part to Metier, a standard option as Metier is an authorized Specialized dealer. The person at the counter had a hard time finding my package, and expressed their frustration by asking why I had chosen to have it shipped to them anyway. I'm a middle aged white guy with money to spend. I can't imagine what these interactions might have been if I'd been some other demographic.

Today I had the intention of going to the bike store to look for a U-Lock for my commuter and also to have a coffee and send a few emails on my computer. I walked by this place and thought it would be great, I could do both at once. When I first walked in, I could already tell the vibe was very pretentious and rude. There was one table with a person working on their laptop, and another guy at the bar on a stool with a laptop. The employee behind the counter was talking to the person working on his laptop, it could have been another employee or a customer. While I stood there, looking generally lost, they proceeded to continue their conversation for another 5 minutes. After waiting and wandering aimlessly, I did find a U-Lock but it was not the right size that I wanted. Eventually employee A finally takes my order, I get my coffee, already regretting that I'd asked for it "for-here." (Good thing they messed that up and made it to-go). A different employee (I'll call employee B) appeared and I asked if there were any other tables, and they shrugged and dismissed me, saying no, there's just the one, which was occupied by the guy who had been having a conversation with employee A. Unclear if this was an employee or a customer. So I was like ok I'll just sit at the bar next to the other person there, even though I don't really like to sit on barstools. Then I go and ask employee B, even though I really don't want to talk to them because clearly my presence is an annoyance to them, if I could have the internet password. They tell me that there is no public wi-fi. I was confused because surely, since I am a customer that paid for a drink, I could now have access to the "customers-only" internet experience typical for coffee shops in the US. But no, this person didn't even make eye contact with me and couldn't be bothered to treat me like another human being and explain why I wouldn't be provided the internet password, even though there were already 2 people in there working on their laptops, who I SAW were connected to the internet. Is it really such a strange request that a customer at a coffee shop would want to sit and work and enjoy the coffee while using the internet? Now after experiencing this dismissal and indifference, I didn't feel welcome. I no longer wanted to look for the correct size U-Lock, because that would require talking to an employee who really didn't care one bit about making me feel comfortable or interested in spending money there. I took my coffee and left. What a waste of time. I don't understand how this place could stay in business if their employees treat people so poorly. I am not new to the competitive cycling scene, I know how pretentious it can be. Wasn't expecting to feel it so intensely right away. Won't be going back.

The coffee they serve here is spot on. Love all the plants and open concept feel. Great place for bike gear and any bike related questions. Outdoor seating and great location in Cap hill.

I needed a super last minute brake repair, and they were able to get me in same day. Repair was done in an hour! Staff were super friendly and I'm so relieved my bike is fixed in time for a big trip this weekend.
