This unassuming deli / sandwich shop in downtown Seattle serves up some tasty quick bites. The employees during our visit were SO friendly and kind. I first found out about Metropolitan Cafe when meeting family over the summer since this location was a couple of blocks from their hotel at the time. The main draw here is coffee + a variety of sandwiches that are made behind the counter after you place an order. There are several customizable options for each sandwich, such as type of bread, cheese, meat, etc. They have a good selection of sandwiches too, ranging from breakfast sandwiches to Italian meat subs, and Boar's Head ingredients are used in many of them. An eclectic assortment (some from around the world) of drinks, snacks, and desserts can be found around the store to complement your sandwich. Small tables are available so you can eat and run during work breaks. I know Amazon Go is just around the corner, and they probably attract most of the eat-and-run deli / sandwich crowd during busy workdays in this business district, but it's nice to have other options. Metropolitan Cafe / Deli has other locations in Seattle, but Amazon just dwarfs everything. Give Met Cafe a boost if you're in the area and support the little guy.

Great service, great hot dog! Great place to come after traveling and don't have to pay hotel prices! Nice and clean in the inside with small seating area. They have Boars head sandwiches, all kinds of drinks, energy drinks, sodas, juice, wine, sodas. Even icecream!

This spot was around the corner from our hotel. We came here for a coffee quite late and got it. It is a cute breakfast spot and if I needed to get a breakfast, at non-hotel restaurant prices, I could get something. I think they are convenient for the hotel/convention crowd. I say that because they have coffee urn coffee and my husband said it was OK. I haven't been drinking coffee since my surgery, but I did taste his and it was quite good. They have some gluten free options, I had to ask for them and I would have loved to have gotten a sandwich or something on a gluten-free bread. I didn't see this option in the store, but read about it from a fellow Yelper. If I want a Sandwhich and don't want to hoof it all over town, I know that this is the spot to go. We went quite late at night and I was surprised that they had coffee. But I'm glad that they found them. I do wonder why the hotel never mentioned them to us. Especially for the times when the hotel restaurant wasn't in service, but it doesn't matter. We found them, and if in the area and I need something to eat, I'll be back.

Employees were nice, but the woman left before making my sandwich, and didn't tell her coworker about it I'm late to work but he gave me extra bacon tho so that's cool ig.
